Dumb question. The "twist" pinwheels are supposed to be patriotic-themed too, right?

I love that first one- the eagle in flight, ringed with stars. Beautiful! I know my 6 sets (24 blocks) won't be enough to get back one of everything. I-800-WAHHHH!! I want one of each!
I have one of your fabrics, the white with flag hearts, that I'm planning to use for a border on mine when I get them put together.
Ladies, kudos to everyone. I love all these blocks.
I think we should do this swap again for different holidays. (HINT, HINT) This is too much fun to be a one-shot deal!

    Okie dokie!

I found this nifty printable template that lets you make 12 2-1/2" HSTs at once, and they're "on grain", not on the bias. Here's a link. There are lots of other sizes, too.

    http://www.quiltingandwhatnot.ca/Hal...-Triangle.html

I've got my HSTs made using the template. They actually came out a little larger than 2-1/2", which I like because it gives extra wiggle room. Now to sew them into pinwheels!

Edit: Ah. I just noticed that the sizes on the template are the finished sizes. Duh. No wonder they came out bigger than 2-1/2"! LOL!

You know, I didn't send in any pinwheels. After seeing these, I just may have to rethink this thing! Good job. They look great!

I use a product called thangles. Its just like the file you posted except the paper templates are in strips.Thangles come in sizes up 6 inches. With the template you shared I won't have to cut my fabric into 2 1/2 strips before I start. Will save time and since thangles cost about $4 a pack some $ too. Thanks for sharing.

I was thinking the same. I was worried about making such small pinwheels but this would help.

That would be, thanks Moonrise for the HST link. We are so lucky to have such talented, and sharing swap partners.

Djmat, I enjoy looking at your atavar. The block is simple yet complex. The stripe fabric makes the block unique. I've never seen one like that before. I love it.

Berryberry, glad you like the avatar, the center of it is a field of poppies for my Americana passion.
