The bird block is my simplified version of Cathedral windows. It works up really fast and can be totally finished using the machine.

I made it up after making a table runner using a similar method to create curved edges.

Check out "quilter's cache". You can google it. If you can't find blocks you like on there, I'm not sure where you can. They don't include embroidery, but do include paper piecing. Love it.

Gwyn can you please share how to make the simplified version of Cathedral windows. What size block did you start out with? How did you simplify it? Thanks, Sherry

OK....I'm going to try to post the Opening Rows for our group.

GROUP #6 "Quilting to Know You"

Nancy in Louisiana: Bright stars on a black background.

FQ Stash Queen: Brown/turq blue; kitchen theme

    Qbee: Spring

TF Quilter: Ladies & Girls; Past & Present

Pamesue: Pink & Brown Sampler Blocks
I have Nancy's bright on black right now. The pic does not do it justice. Much brighter and really stands out in "real life". Hope my row does it justice. Cherie
