LuvTooQuilt is hosting another swap!!

“Every Day is a Holiday!!! 10 1/2" layer cake Swap with a 'Neutral' Twist !!!!

Swap open for registration until 14th of June or until 100 sets filled, whichever comes first.....

Each swapper will submit 12 squares of any 1 (one) UN-washed 100% cotton that reads anything related to the Calendar Holidays- If you I celebrate it then that'll work - Xmas, Easter, New Years, 4th of July, passover, Birthday, and any other Holiday worth celebrating !!! ~~{~@ *( ONLY 100% UN-washed quality Cotton)

HOWEVER you are limited to max of THREE (3) fabrics of any ONE holiday..

For example: Say you want to sign up for 6 sets - one member cannot send in all six sets of Christmas.. You may however send in 3 Xmas AND 3 Halloween OR 2 Xmas, AND 2 Easter, AND 2 Fourth of July.. or even 1 from six different holidays.. Let have fun and run with it!! so be creative !! Raid your stashes, search the LQS, trade or barter with a fellow quilter even, for fun and unique designs !!!

Clear as MUD all ??
any questions please don't hesitate to ask..

And the fine print....

Squares should be carefully rotary cut from UN-washed 100% cotton fabric. Keep in mind that your squares could end up in a child's quilt. Select fabrics that will hold up to a lot of love, wear, tears, draggin', cuddlin', washing, and trips through the dryer. Fabrics that fray easily, or are fairly easy to see through are not good candidates for this swap.

Please be advised that fabrics that are NOT square, squares too wonky or too off grain, sqs that are 'shedding threads', squares that contain selvages, or those that are not 10.5 or larger, will be returned unswapped. Yes it is sad, but it has happened.. Anything less than MY 10.5 measurement will be returned. If you are unsure of your accuracy, over-sized squares will be accepted as they can be cut down to size if needed be.... please nothing over 11 inches as they become hard to put in baggies..

Here’s how it works: - In your packet to me you will enclose:

1 gallon size Hefty non pleaded SLIDER bag with 12 ct – 10 1/2 (up to 11) inch squares of ONE fabric for each set

~ Fabric must be UN -washed, ironed and in gallon bags for safe passage thru USPS.

~ Selvages MUST be removed entirely from both ends. Be sure to remove ALL selvage holes.

~ Please remember that each set (baggie) should be cut from a different unwashed fabric

~ 5-6 sets fit in ONE priority flat rate envelope… *(confirm with your PO for price increase)

~ It is aprox 1 yard per 12ct – 10.5 (up to 11I) inch squares - IF your fabric is 44 wide.

~ There is a SIX set limit in this swap plus six (6) optional TWIST(s)

~ INCLUDE your screen name ON your baggies along with SET amounts.

********* Example- I would like to do 4 (four) sets - (4 sets mean that you would send 12 ct – 10.5 (up to 11 inch squares) from FOUR different fabrics for a total of 48 squares) Each set in separate gallon size bag(s) so, written legibly with a sharpie marker or pen, on EACH of my bags will have:

luvTooQuilt X4 (plus 1 twists)

~ You may also include but not mandatory, your real name, mailing address on each baggie, should your envelope be swallowed by the USPS machines for identification purposes (an adhesive return label perhaps.?. )

******* NEW CHANGE ADDED: *********
~Staple a piece of your fabric SELVAGE (with MFG/designer identification) on the baggie...
**** This selvage piece of your fabric is required. Please staple on the outside of the individual baggie for identification purposes… One exception: Batiks - as they do not have printed selvages.. Should you OMIT the selvage, the baggie will be returned unswapped..

Also in your package INCLUDE in a sandwich baggie :
~ ONE Sample piece of each of your fabric – (at least 2x3.) Some of you stapled the pieces to a small piece of cardboard/cardstock/paper with an addt’l addy label & board name- (see pic) It is my goal NOT to give you back your fabric square… And this aids me keeping track who sent in what since there are over 100 sets..

***** PLEASE NOTE AS OF JAN 22, 2012 THE POSTAGE RATES HAVE GONE UP ****
~ A self-adhesive return address label, and return priority postage OF $6.05... THIS INCLUDES MANDATORY DELIVERY CONFIRMATION....Please remember that if you do not send enough return postage I will hold them until you send the difference. After 30 days, I will donate the unclaimed squares to charity of my choice.

*** DO NOT HIDE POSTAGE IN THE TWIST BAGGIE... ***
I do not look in the baggies, however you may conceal it in any of your MAIN swap baggies..

*** DO NOT mail return SAS envelopes!!!!! Postage ONLY please!!! ***

*** Due to quick turn-around and distance of my bank I WILL NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS ***
Postage stamps, USPS money orders or concealed cash (at your own risk) will be accepted as forms for postage/shipping costs..

I would like to have these in hand no later than 6/22/2012. A post mark no later than 6/16/2012 should give the USPS ample time to deliver regular service mail without a grace period. After 06/16/2012 PRIORITY shipping is recommended. After 06/18/2012, Priority Express OVERNITE shipping ($18) or FedEx, etc. is required.... International members need to send them to me sooner- PM for details.

Please remember that any packages received after 06/22/2012 will be automatically returned unswapped. Any member not fulfilling commitment will not be accepted in any of my future swaps and negative feedback will be posted to members account per Moderators requirements.

I will then sort 6/25-6/28 and hope to mail out squares on or by 6/29/2012 –
No later than * 07/?/2012.***** Please allow a grace period due to the holiday.. *****
Reminders and swap rules can be found here - http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm

AND THE TWIST: Neutrals:
ONE 2.5x WOF from FIVE different fabrics that read NEUTRAL. (Think Civil war era dirty whites,TOT and even WOW!!!)
2.5 strips must read NEUTRAL
2.5 strips must be from 100% unwashed cotton fabs…

Please cut carefully - NO ‘V cuts at the folds …

Place all FIVE DIFFERENT 2.5xWOF in a SANDWICH or snack size baggie- FLAT and staggered so I can count them.
Label EACH baggie with your board name and twist amount.. EXAMPLE: luvTooQuiltx4 Twists
Max SIX (6) twists per member

*** This TWIST is optional - Not mandatory to participate in the twist to join this swap ***

I have had them all together this week. The designer in the pictures lives with me ( he and his mom ). The other three live in MO and came down to give mom and dad a rest. They go back tomorrow. Grandma and Grandpa will need a week to catch up on our rest- :D

lauriejo 06-16-2012 08:37 AM

Well my ds is only 20 and still in college, so no little designers for me for a while (at least I hope not!). I will just have to admire everyone else's pics.

Got my squishy in the mail today! I can't wait to see what comes back, maybe a holiday I don't know. Darn, I just realized I have some lovely Day of the Dead fabric I could have sent , maybe next time we do holidays.
