Wow! I was wondering where you were going with this. LOL What a pair we are! It's hereditary that we hoard fabrics and can't tell what color they are!!

Thanks Faintly! I can't wait to see what I get!

Mine looked perfectly orange when I purchased a few, too, and then they looked very different when I got home. I think as long as they are on the spectrum and in a "family" it's going to be fine. If we all picked the same hue/value we'd only end up with one choice. So....see! It's all good!

In all the swaps I've done so far for us, there's only been one instance where I had to send it back, and that is because out of a 5" square, there was only one "dot" the size of a split pea the color we were swapping. Not fair to the rest, so unfortunately that person had hers sent back. I do feel bad, as she hasn't swapped with us since. But....I think overall, everyone's been really good about picking what the color is. So no worries, Crispy!

Well Red, If you have to, send it back, or I'll make it up.

Speaking of "making up"--- remember my Purple snafu.....my cuts that weren't accurate that I had to make up? I finally figured out my problem! I had used my Accuquilt to cut some of the charms. I happily cut my 5" charms thinking of the time I saved and why didn't I do it more often. When the measurements were questioned I thought that I used the Accuquilt wrong by placing the fabric on the bias incorrectly. I discovered this week that I have a 4-3/4" Accuquilt die that looks just like the 5" die. I didn't even know that I owned a 4-3/4" die! I measured some cuts and saw how consistently short they were. I finally read the label! I am not making that mistake again.

At least you figured out the problem!

Crispy: I had to laugh when I saw this post. that sounds like something I would TOTALLY do! And not a big deal. You made it right, and we all appreciated the efforts. Besides.....it did make me feel better knowing I wasn't the only one that could make mistakes.

Apparently I miscounted (twice!) for Jane....I owe her big time. Mercy!

You ask "Just how orange challenged are you, D.J.?"
I had to send 20 charms to make up for any I sent that may be orange/pink, orange/tan, orange/red. It was easier to send extra than to fry my brain, hurt my eyes, or especially disappoint others. I hope that is alright with everyone. I'll be happy with anything close to the orange family to lend character to my project. Excited to see what y'all send!
I'd probably cut "off bias" with an accu cutter, too! Love my mat & rolling cutter 'cause I can cut in stacks which helps keep the stacks neater, there's a lot less waste, & I can cut other sizes for smaller size charm swaps, save strips for string quilts, & manufacturer's marks for projects. All while the fabric is ironed.
hugs,
dj

Crispy arrived in the mail. Well her package did anyway! I'm not sure she could fit in my mailbox. Maybe!
