i love the table topper i rec'd, and i hope my recipient will love the one i'm sending, or at least like it well enough it could be a mother-in-law gift. but....i am sitting out the month of february. i have some projects i just HAVE to get done, because i promised my dh i would. i will look forward to a 3rd swap coming up, and i will check in because i will miss you guys!

I will steal all chocolate! Don't even bother trying to send it anywhere but to me. I am starving poor busy college student that needs all the chocolate she can get, especially on fridays when I'm up from 5:30am til 2am saturday at least. AND HAVE TO DO MATH! Brat, no 4th of July. No one else either! With the timing, that's hopefully going to be the next theme. So dont' do that yet! :) I would have liked to force you all to do a St. Patty's theme but there wasn't going to be enough time to use it. So feel free to make one of those, especially if you are someone who gets yours out ASAP.

That's exactly why I like the secret partners. I would have already started so I could send it quickly. Now have to wait for color and size. Was nice when it was on the sheet, because I like to get them done. Hopefully my partner will answer quickly and know what she wants....then it's the "can I make this?" and end up with something she will like.

Waiting for partner likes? Hmm, darn, I wasn't thinking I had to wait for that. I have a bag full of bugs and frogs and monkeys that I was going to use for this one. Dangit! Now I gotta wait. Joann had all their holiday fabrics 30-60% off when I was there yesterday. I managed to walk out without any. I did almost buy this piece of fushia duck cloth that was in the remnants bin though. Nope, left it there. Everything else was really picked over in the remnants.

Oh well, if my partner isn't into frogs, bugs, and monkeys, maybe I'll get to use the yellow remnant I didn't get to use on my mug rug. When I bought it, I looked at my friend Tracy who was with me & said "this just screams MUG RUG!" & she agreed, then I did something completely different after I got their color preferences. I did kinda use a little of one of their colors in it anyway....out of the 8 fabrics I used.

Hehe.. pretty sure there is nothing written in stone that says you have to go by what your partner suggests..Nor that you must wait til they give you more information. If I was partaking, I would probably send my DISLIKES more than my likes.. because I like most everything, but in the theme of this, I'd have to say I dislike pastel colors and pinwheels... haha and I know, if someone hadn't waited for that, that's exactly what i would end up with :) But I would still appreciate it.

Knowing what your partner doesn't like is a HUGE help. Elisabrat could have used that info on the last swap for the glitter! The only way my fabrics will work is if I get someone who is really whimsy to be honest. I bought the fabrics in anticipation of making a friend's little girl quilt, but her mom has since bought her a new bedspread, and she's in the marker all over everything phase, so I guess I'll use it for something else for now.

I ordered a machine embroidery pattern yesterday to use on my runner. I just don't know what colors I'll be using on them. You'll have to wait to see what the 'them' is, sorry!! They're big and round and float in the sky, though...

Oops, I thought after I pm'd our OGTRSL (Oh Great Table Runner Swap Leader..lol) and asked if we had to wait for info on our "swapee" or if we could go ahead and get started?..that it was ok to go ahead as long as the theme is "Springy"....lol...So, hopefully I will get someone who likes what I have started on...;)..or they will at least "think" they like it...haha..Since my sewing machine went "kaput" right before Christmas it put me mailing out the last table runner 3 days late, which I felt terrible about...so I think being able to work on it sooner is definitely an advantage, since "life" happens to us all.
I told Anastasia if it was a democracy, I would vote to just give out the "theme" and let everyone do what they like...I for one love being surprised, and I know I can use what I get somewhere in my house if it doesn't work in my dining room (we are so bad, we don't eat at our formal dining table unless its a holiday anyway...lol)..Maybe someone should run a "quilt for sitting and eating in front of the tv swap"! :D. I then told Anastasia that as she is the OGTRSL democracy or not is her decision!...or I could offer to send her a runner made with pastel pinwheels...bwahahaaa...but then I would probably get one made from huge paisley flowers!

I have certain ones I use but I love to change them out. 1 for Valentine's,1 for Easter, 4th of july, spring.....I don't care. I've made a wreath for the front door for each and every holiday that's on the calender and ones I just make up...change of scenery, it all works and it's awesome because someone made it for you.

Agreed! I love seasonal stuff, too...did you do the Connectingthreads.com "A Year in Stitches" wallhanging calendar holder last year? The pattern for the wallhanging was free, the 12" monthly blocks were 99 cents each...the hard part was just sending 99 cent payment...I always seemed to think I really needed something else to make it worth the order...riiiight...anyways, I have it hanging in my front foyer, and I love changing the blocks every month...

I think spring so if you doing spring you would be good as gold with me. if your doing Christmas dont tell anastasia but I am good with that. and april showers somehow would be good with that and especially may flowers and i am fine. I think I am good with that is what I am saying. seasonal or holiday and I win the big grand prize.

That's where most of the fun has been on this board. Some of the runner ladies are already sewing madly - with a design they have chosen. Others are waiting to be paired up and contact that partner to see what design they'd like. I personally have a design I'd like to go with - BUT, I don't know what size my partner would like, so I am waiting. Just think Spring and perhaps all sorts of things will come to you - even alien spaceships!!

Me!!! Me me,, I wanna play! I love love love the table toppers, kinda like a tiny quilt for, well for where ever! I have one on the back of the sofa, and one on the dining table and one on the coffee table... Darn this place is small, but I will get to trade them out sooner this way. I am still in Oregon and will be here for a while, so I will plan on getting it done from Oregon, that means no embroidery, boo hoo. But I am sure I can come up with something to make!

What you can do is check out the list and go for a side swap while you wait for this swap. especially if your fast this way you can get two runners. course you make two runners too but well it is an option :)

i will have you know i have a snickers bar in my purse right now. i am saving it for later today when i get up and want breakfast. i have been up all night and i may be about to crash. and btw, i like frogs and spiders and bugs. i like snakes in person, but not fond of pictures of snakes, nor snake prints. just saying! oh, snickers comes in a caramel only with milk chocolate (of course) and it is divine!
