That being said, I'm going to remind everyone that our goal is a 12 1/2 inch 100 percent cotton block with 1/4 inch seam allowances and about 12 stitches per inch, no less, more if you prefer. If you don't measure for your own quilts, checking block size as you go, you will be asked to do so for the Boom. If you are used to stitching with a longer stitch length, you will be asked to decrease it for the Boom. There are still a few weeks before sign-ups so anyone needing a little help with quilting basics, please talk to your quilty friends or use your favorite search engine to get answers to questions you may have. In the meantime, you can refer to post number one on this thread for the basics of how a Boom works. The rules for Boom 19 might be somewhat different but only in details. And for those who aren't aware, I won't knowingly take on a swapper with what I consider to be a poor swap history. We've had 100 percent completion in the Booms for over three years now and I'd like to keep it that way. That all being said, I'm getting a little excited to start Boom 19. Soon, Boomers!

So very well said, Janice. Your great leadership and boldness is what keeps this being a top notch swap.

Yeah Janice you will be saving me from myself. All this finishing of things is getting to me. Completed binding 2 more lap quilts, added binding to back on 2 more and cute up yardage fir at least 2 more. Also made pretty throw pillow for new chair. But today will work on my wild blue one from last boom

Just spent some delightful time looking at all the pictures in the albums and rereading a ton of posts.

Boy, Terrri, you've been a busy girl! I've spent some time today cutting my F8s for Boom 19. One group will be pink for an ultra feminine Christmas gift for my grandson's intended. The other group will be a brown and blue paisley for my son-in-law's Christmas gift. I'm trying to plan ahead some this year.
All I lack now on Joely's quilt is joining the rows and adding the binding. I'll have it done in time for her birthday.

Lots of news on here. Hope you're recovering well Kass. I love your citrus quilt and the sashing you're putting on. It will be a wonderful quilt.

Janice I love the greens. Fantastic job!

Can someone put up the link again for how to do the QAYG method? I really need to try it out?

I'm going to lurk on boom 19 to see all of your amazing blocks. i need to pass this time. I have a lot on my plate right now. I have a International Sue swap that I need to finish up.

It's always fun to see what's happening on the booms!

Hi Muse, There are several ways to do QAYG, but the tutorial I made for this group is in the Tutorials section of the board. It's one with a skinny, 1/2" sashing.
Here's the link:

Kass wrote one for joining with a wide sashing:

Sewbizgirl thanks sew much for hooking me up the the QAYG tutorials! :)

Kass I'm excited to see your finished quilt!

Terriamn, you'll be back making Boom blocks before you know it. :)

Thanks for posting the QAYG tutorials, Sewbiz. I didn't know (or had forgotten) Kass had created one. I'd better check that out. Can never have too much info.

kass, great teaser pic!

Am still itching but it's begun to improve. I stopped using bug spray on my skin as I'm trying to avoid chemicals. I haven't found a natural concoction that works so I'm going to try making my own with essential oils.

BIL's surgery is today. The docs discovered another problem with his heart they believe they can also repair while they're in there. He should be good as new soon. Or at least he'll be feeling much better once he recovers from the surgery.

Have a a great day, Boomers.
