Everyone should send me 19 F8s to get the ball rolling. Please start prepping your fabrics if you haven’t yet started. Please wash, press, remove selvages, cut into F8s, bag, label with your name and any requests and then put them into a large ziplock-type envelope inside your mailing envelope with your name and address on it. Remember, you will be shipping with tracking. All fabrics must be in my hands on or before Saturday, January 14, 2016 and I will turn around and send them out on Tuesday, January 17, 2016. If all fabrics are in sooner, I'll mail sooner.

Shipping: When you mail to me, please do so in whatever manner you wish as long as you do so with tracking. Please review shipping rules below and be sure to send me the tracking number as soon as you get it. Be sure to include $6.80 for return shipping. If the money/stamps are missing, I will hold your package until I receive it. No checks or Paypal please.

Please have fun! It’s time to play with fabric you might not normally use, show your skills, make some new friends, say hello to old ones, and generally enjoy the experience. Let’s go!

Rules/Guidelines:

Please make sure to also refer to the basic policies that apply to all swaps through the board: RULES FOR SWAPS AND SIMILAR ACTIVITIES -Updated December 2010.

Fabric, Completed Block and Package Preparation:
1) Please prep your fabric before cutting into Fat Eighths. Pre-wash, press, and remove selvages before cutting into Fat Eighths, generally about 18”x11”. Mail them to me.
2) When mailing your F8s to me for distribution, please make sure they are individually sealed in a Ziploc-type bag. Label each F8 with your board name along with any instructions or color requests. (DO NOT SPECIFY A RECIPIENT unless a fabric is being directed to a particular person. Doing so slows my sorting process immensely.) Labels are useful to help the recipient prevent fabric mix-ups, something that’s easy to do. When you send your completed blocks back to me, please seal and label your completed blocks with the owner’s name AND your name in a similar manner as you did the F8s. (Your name is important so that the owner knows who made what block.)
3) Please mail your F8s to me so that they arrive by Saturday, January 14. The sooner you get them to me, the sooner they go out. Be sure to send me the tracking number as soon as you ship.
4) Carefully handle all fabric received and completed blocks, placing them somewhere safe until mailing time comes.
5) To help keep track of the fabrics and blocks made, I will establish an online Fabric Gallery.
6) You are REQUIRED to keep in touch with your group by posting to the dedicated “April” 3 month group thread at least every 2 weeks. This is a requirement. If you don’t wish to keep in touch, this is not the swap for you.
7) All blocks must be completed within the time frame for the group and mailed to me with a tracking number.
8) All blocks should be 12 1/2” unfinished. They may be regularly pieced, paper-pieced, appliquéd, whatever the block maker decides to do. It is up to each individual. Again, the feeling is to get a true friendship quilt out of this. Please do not request specific blocks as the idea is to let everyone, of every skill level, join in and try new things and grow. Before mailing, be sure to clean up the blocks by trimming your threads and cutting dog ears.
9) Most importantly, HAVE FUN!

IMPORTANT SHIPPING DETAILS
You must supply me with tracking numbers on all parcels sent to me and I will do likewise when I mail to you. All shipping costs are your responsibility. You may ship to me in whatever tracked package you like, however I will ONLY ship to you in USPS Padded Priority Envelopes at a cost is $6.80, unless other arrangements have been made. Please send me stamps, a pre-paid label or $6.80 in cash. I will supply the envelope.

Keep in mind the following:
You MUST be in good standing with previous swaps. Anyone with a poor track record of fulfilling swap commitments will not be permitted to join. If you do not fulfill your commitment, negative feedback will be given.
All skill levels are welcome but you must be able to sew a basic, well-constructed block. It need not be fancy or detailed but it must not be falling apart. I respect new quilter’s need to learn and that will be taken into account.
PLEASE pre-wash fabrics without any fragrance residue. Please note that that some swappers may be smokers or have pets. If either pets or smoking is a serious problem for you, you may find this isn’t the swap for you.
NO public complaints or criticisms for any reason are permitted. ALL complaints must be addressed by Private Message (PM) or email to me at [email protected]. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Here is the pic of my fabric again. I would like citrus colors (lime green, orange orange, lemon yellow) w/ white or wow fabric. Prints are fine as long as they only have those color in the print. Have fun.

Are the Mickey Mouses in the 3 or 2 month group? I just saved a picture of a block that might work for it.

Here's my fabric. I'm asking for a matching cream background. Please use only solids and/or TOTs (tone-on-tones)- no other prints. I think it would be way to busy with other prints. This quilt is for my 30 yr. old granddaughter, special request from her.

So many fabrics! This is going to be FUN!
My eldest daughter and I are both Leos. She saw what I had planned and wants one, so here goes, quilters. I ask that you use dark reds, oranges, or purples. No yellows or golds. White or blacks would be fine too. Of course these requests will be in the baggies. I'll be making a compass rose medallion and putting your lovely creations around the edges. That is, if all goes well and I don't lose my flippin' mind! *chuckles*

Hi April Boomers! I love the fabrics I'm seeing posted. Here's one of the ones I'm sending. I have a fairy wheel quilt to finish and I'm thinking of alternating blocks between my dresden fairies and your friendship blocks. Here's my fairy wheels too so you can see the huge variety of colors. You do anything at all with the fabric that you get. Thank you in advance!

Today is another full day for me but I'm stopping in to remind everyone to send me your tracking numbers when you get them. Also, if you haven't yet read the email, please do so and reply. Thanks!

Kassaundra 01-04-2017 05:57 AM

Awesome glad Mickey is in this group, I was looking at the pic I saved and I think it might work for another couple of fabrics, and it is one I haven't seen in any of the Booms I've been in.

terriamn 01-04-2017 07:34 AM

Sorry Sewbiz but decided to go with total contrast and only 2 colors. This will be my first 2 color only quilt

This is my fabric for the 3 month group. I included a piece of the green also in each packet with the focal print and ask that you use only solid white with it.

Billi I love cats & so I love your cat fabric!
Looks like a variety of fun fabrics to work with.
I posted on the other thread my fabric with the space planets! :) Very excited for that one. my daughter is even excited & that's amazing!

Kassaundra 01-04-2017 01:27 PM

I had to get more fabric for my Bonnie Hunter quilt today after class, and I got a piece of red TOT since I KNOW I didn't have anything like that. There was only one piece in the whole store that was red on red, lots of red/ white, or red / black, or maroon / black but alls well I have my piece of ror.

Libster 01-04-2017 03:52 PM

Yep, I bought my red-on-red today too, along with some citrus yellow TOT and some darker gray TOT.
Jaba- I'm making absolutely sure this time before hand- solid white only, NO WOW? I have Kona White on hand already along with lots of WOWs. We want to make you something that you love! BTW-beautiful fabric.

terriamn 01-04-2017 04:42 PM

Boy I did a dummy, sent off a package of my scraps and my red tone on tone was in there. The piece I sent for a sample has quite a bit of tone. Should have grabbed paint chips like Kass did. Thought everyone would have red on red sorry some of you had to go buy some.

oh my we had a good dinner, I threw in the crockpot short ribs, quartered onions, carrots and potatoes. Added dry mustard, paprika, curry and chili powder. Great flavor and the meat just melted in your mouth.

Kassaundra 01-04-2017 04:51 PM

Oh yes such a complete trauma having to go to the ......................... fabric store!!!!!! lol lol lol

All2Pieces 01-04-2017 04:51 PM

sewbizgirl, I have the perfect blueberry print to go with your yellow but you said you want citrus. Terriamn wants red-on-red. *LOL*

mjpEncinitas 01-04-2017 04:58 PM

Another newbie question What is true red?

I didn't ask for citrus! :D

sewbizgirl 01-04-2017 05:11 PM

Terri... tonal red. That's a hard one. I don't know if I've ever even seen such an animal. Would a red tonal batik be okay? Otherwise I can go searching.

All2Pieces 01-04-2017 05:11 PM

OOPS! Sorry sewbizgirl - that was Kassaundra's yellow!

mjpEncinitas - good question! It's a red without orange or blue tones.

Kassaundra 01-04-2017 05:15 PM

I requested citrus, meaning in color not ness fruit.

marietta 01-04-2017 05:33 PM

Ya'l are making me a bit nervous
with the Tone On Tone, White On White, True Red, Solid White, Red on Red, Tonal Red, Citrus, but then again all those might add up to a country song or most of terriamn's dinner :D

Yes, but that yellow with my blueberry would make a great fruit basket don'cha know! Actually, the fabric collection I'm thinking of has prints of lemons, blueberries and baskets in various arrangements.

Citrus colors (to me) are orange, lemon, lime, and pink grapefruit. Is that more to your liking? And is it okay to add dark green if necessary for a 3rd color? The citrus trees in my back yard currently have oranges that are just changing color from hard green unripe baseballs at this time. They'll be ready to pick in a week or so. The lemon trees should be blooming by then.
