I understand citrus colors to be the color of a ripe lime, ripe lemon, and ripe orange.

Marietta, don't be nervous. Just do the best you can. We all interpret the requests as best we can, and the quilts all come together because of the constant focus fabric in each block. You'll do fine.

Pls don't stress, this is what I mean. Would prefer this color red

Not this color.

WOW means white with a white Design in it..Red on red and red tonal are pretty much the same thing

mjpEncinitas 01-04-2017 06:28 PM

That helps. Thanks Terriamn

sewbizgirl 01-04-2017 07:46 PM

Yes that makes it clear, Terri. Thank you.

So excited to start... my stuffed fat package is ready to go to the mailbox in the morning.

Janice McC 01-05-2017 06:29 AM

Jaba, this is a beautiful color combination. The quilt will be stunning. :)

See, these oranges keep popping up and they're always beautiful! I'm going to have to find some orange for myself one day. Great choice, Libster!

Janice McC 01-05-2017 06:42 AM

Marietta, it's always a little confusing at first. We use a lot of abbreviations and short cuts so just ask if you have a question about something. Plus, we've gotten more specific on what we hope to get out of a quilt so if you aren't sure, you can always post here or PM (private message) the person whose fabric you have a question about. They'll respond. FYI, to private message somebody, look for a post they've written, click on their name to the left, and it will take you to another page where there's an option to PM them. It works much like an email but stays within the QB.

with the Tone On Tone, White On White, True Red, Solid White, Red on Red, Tonal Red, Citrus, but then again all those might add up to a country song or most of terriamn's dinner :D

Nice fabric. What did you have in mind for it?

Janice McC 01-05-2017 08:46 AM

I posted this in the original Boom 18 link but will post again here. I got the fabric in to finish all the F8s so will try to get them in the mail. Snowed here last night, kids didn't have school so had to keep them till their dad got off work. Took me about 20 min longer to drive to work due to the snow but its sure pretty!! Cant wait to see what beautiful work you do with this fabric!

marija 01-05-2017 09:55 AM

I have to agree with marietta.

I figured out how to use my cell phone as a hotspot!! Big step for the technology challenged!
Here are my fabrics - you will each get your own color and I explained it (I hope) in the note. please ask whatever questions you may have - and please have fun with this.
Just returned from visit to Mom's doctor - they took bandage off her arm and then told her how careful she needs to be as the skin is so very thin and delicate and needs time to heal before she starts PT. So I will be taking her with me to FL on 20th and have to return to NY on Feb 5th. Good news- your F8's should arrive in FL by the time I arrive, and my stash is there - so I can go through it and bring material back with me.

Cannot wait to play with this gorgeous fabric, Joan! Love the peacock-y colors against that chocolate, and then the gold to set them all off.

sewbizgirl 01-05-2017 11:57 AM

Yummy rainbow colors, TG. Hope your mom heals well and soon.

Marija, if you hit the "reply with quote" option, the original post you are replying to will come up with your reply. That really helps us understand what you are referring to in your reply. :o

Thank you sew...Ive loved this fabric for a couple of years...glad I'm finally gonna do something with it. Traveling g.. my sister just had her hip replaced and rod in leg removed. When she got to the nursing home today it looked like she had been in a cat fight on her leg. My neice says its where they yanked the tape off her leg to replace it with a smaller bandage. It sure took the skin with it! :( Glad you mom is better..Im sure she will love being in FL with you!

I just finished some blocks for a ugly fabric challenge. Fabric I received was pretty bad. As part of the challenge I had to add blue fabric to make it more interesting. Blocks are finished photographed and ready to send. Helped take my mind off unpleasantness.

Finally quit procrastinating and contacted the cemetery on buying a plot for Mom. She is on a downward spiral but hoping she will pop back like she has in the past. Just getting all of my ducks in a row.

terriamn 01-05-2017 01:29 PM

Joan I think this is the prettiest fabric I have ever seen.

(((((HUGE HUGS))))) Terri! That had to be a really hard thing to do. Hoping for the best for your mother, and will be thinking of you too.

marietta 01-05-2017 03:40 PM

hugs and prayers terri

joanlizbay love the fabric, found the perfect block for it, but its too big 14x14 and am not even going to try and downsize it lol, me and math sheesh. But I know I will find something.

mailed my fabric off today and sent Janice tracking #

Kassaundra 01-05-2017 03:46 PM

Joan, LOVE that fabric can't wait to work w/ it.

Terri ................. what!!!!!!! you tease us w/ tales of ugly fabric and no pictures????

Marietta post a pic of the block or a link some of us may be able to figure the math.

All2Pieces 01-05-2017 04:21 PM

Terriamn - hugs and wishes for peace in your soul winging their way to you
Joan - That fabric is so pretty I'm going to hate to cut into it. It looks like kaleidoscopes
TravelingGramma - That's going to make a beautiful rainbow of a quilt

Janice - I'll have to send a box with all the fabric for both BOOMs in it. The post offices around here don't have the bubble wrap envelopes and the ones I ordered haven't arrived. I split 2 of the plain priority envelopes, one envelope for each BOOM. Guess I'm not packing them as neatly as last time, but all the air IS squished out. Like Eeyore says, Oh bother. *chuckles*

Oh my... that's truly ghastly! Why would a company even print something like that?

So... what did you do with it? We wanna see.

Well, I finished cutting my fabric tonight and realized that I did not have (or need) 19 pieces of the Mickey fabric so eight of you will get this fabric called Circus Menagerie that I will use in a baby quilt. I am sure when I bought it I thought it was cute, but it could be considered kind of creepy. But, I am sure you will make it cute again.

Funny circus fabric, Bibliostone! We'll have fun working with that one.

Terri, that ugly fabric reminds me of chalk drawings on the sidewalk. Good job with the blocks.

And about three hours later on the way home it had warned up 1 whole degree

mjpEncinitas 01-06-2017 09:43 AM

Oh I hope I get the circus fabric. I have an idea for that.

sewbizgirl 01-06-2017 09:46 AM

Yikes, Terri... And I am freezing at 30 degrees. I'm about to build a fire in the fireplace, as hubby hasn't done it. I feel like curling up in front of a fire with my hand quilting project, watching some old movies... maybe some of the Christmas ones I didn't get to see this year.

Janice McC 01-06-2017 10:03 AM

Oh, thank goodness. At first i thought this was what you were sending. I wondered if perhaps you were feverish and thought this was pretty...

BTW, your blocks just arrived in good order. Thank you!!! Nice packing, btw. :)

That blue really toned down the
"ugly" fabric!!

terriamn 01-06-2017 02:35 PM

Janice that is good humor. Would be interesting to see what could be done with it. Not

Joan some of the blocks I cut the fabric into 1.5" strips and added a gray blue then a deeper blue. Decided that would take a month of Sunday's to finish making blocks like that and skipped cutting the fabric so tiny.

We got more snow and I stayed in today. While waiting for the Booms to get going, I made my first block for myself. This is with one of the ugly 90's fabrics... wish I had used a white for the background.

Seesaw2much was kind enough to share this paper pieced pattern with me after the last Boom. She worked it out herself!
