Hello friends

Sorry I have been away so much. Not use to working full time. (between 2 jobs). My job at the resale shop is closed now...I don't go back to work until Dec 27th. yeah time to get caught up on what I really want to do. Talk to my quilty friends and hopefully get some quilting in.

I do plan on starting another swap for next year. I usually start the sign up in mid-January, filling spaces with current swappers in good standing first. I think that 35-37 like this year was a good number of participants so start cutting out your squares if you haven't done so already.

Also I would like 1 or 2 people to help this coming year with a Quilt along (QAL) if you are interested please send me a PM with a picture of what you would like to make with us. That would be great!!!

I will be sending out January addresses......now.

I just saw this on the Daily Digest this morning. It is an "easy" and we already have the 600 squares already cut! If you scroll down you will also see some alternative lay-outs and there are so many more if we just want to play around with the blocks. December update:
Mizmelly the tracking on yours seems stuck on, "in transit" at 12/16/18. Oldcatlady, your tracking was just updated 12/23/18 and says now that your package is in Columbus. I'll stay after this. I will resend after Christmas if I need to.

WMUTeach, That quilt is beautiful and I think I will plan on this for next year. Hopefully things will calm down after Christmas and I can start sorting my light charms for using in this quilt.

Merry Christmas Eve to all. I have arrived home safely from our Christmas Vacation. Had a wonderful time with the family Cruising the Caribbean. We stopped at Amber Cove Dominican Republic, St Thomas, Puerto Rico and Grand Turk in Turks and Cacaos. We had beautiful weather and great food throughout the whole trip.

I got my tuffet for my great niece done at 5pm on Christmas eve! It turned out great.

Crispy_Frog, your package arrived! It sure did take the long route. LOL It was well worth it. Thank you for the pretty candies and all the extra goodies. Also good timing, I was planning on buying another seam ripper. ��. Thank you again!

Believe it or not I have just finished cutting up 38 piles of candy for next year's swap.

My January birthdays went out today!

January mailing will be prepared tomorrow but will wait for January to jump into the mailbox. I spent most of this morning cleaning up my sewing room. Put the UFO's in zip lock bags and made a list of quilts for the year. I have some family members who I want to surprise this next Christmas. I lost some blocks for a baby quilt, so I ordered the same layer cake from MSQ....Grrrr to the lost blocks. I will start my cutting or planning for cutting later this week for our next swap, 2019-20. Then back to making use of some sweet treats from the 2018-19 swap. :)

Thanks for the birthday wishes! Only one of my friends remembered, so it was nice that the QB ladies came through!
I won't be opening my envelopes for a while, so apologies for not posting that sooner.
Just yesterday, on my birthday, I signed my life away on a new house!! I'm moving south out of the Phoenix metro area and into a much smaller and quieter community close to the border in Green Valley, AZ. It's a beautiful place to live, deep in the Sonoran desert, and yes it's very green down there. Lots and lots of golf courses (I don't golf!), and retirement communities galore. I guess I fit in fine, my 60th birthday was yesterday!! So now the stress is increasing since I have to finish the updates on my current home, pack and move out of it and then get it on the market. Fingers crossed that I can get it listed before the end of the month (January that is).

Jane Quilter, I did the Arkansas Crossroads a number of years ago and it was a dream to do. Easy Peazy and could be done as one block at a time or via chain pieces. It eats up LOTS of 2.5 squares and makes a lovely scrappy quilt. I tried to upload my photo but no luck.
