Nah, AZKat, it's ME! And those blocks are still "around". I don't have a Wall of Shame (or Fame) to put them on so they're easier to ignore. Bad on me.
HA, HA! Reading this I'm thinking . . . this has to be me! Quilt is probably on my "wall of shame". |
Never made a full size myself but here's a site I quickly found that might help while waiting for somebody to answer abt what they normally do: http://www.quilterscache.com/StartQu...iltingtwo.html

Thanks Janice looks like I will need 20 more blocks which is why I have the fabric cut for right now, then will need more for pillow shams
|
Oh My, you know you've been in too many booms, when you look at finished projects and can't pick out the block you made.

Janice once the wandering block finds its way you should share that quilt with us. . |
Ok, I've admin'd so many booms now I had to look back to see what was what. The dots for Terri's granddaughter (I think) is from Boom 12, Short and Sweet. The one you posted Billi, is from Jade. Terri, I thought the Jade fabric was a little weird but it made some of the prettiest blocks I've seen yet. You have a great eye!
And Billi, I'll get right on that quilt for you! (Ha!)

I was mixed up how unusual. I loved my Jade fabric. Bought more of it for borders and sashing
|
See, I'm too conventional for my own good!

Can finally cross of the Thanksgiving quilt from my UFO list.
I have proof. First one is hanging on the wall of shame (with others in waiting in the background). Second one is the way it looks on my bed. |
Nice!!! The second pic is how it should be, complete with pups. Pups and quilts, heaven! (And is that a pibble I see, or part pibble??)

Had a Brindle Pit for 5 years...all the sudden this town decided you "cant have a pit" in town...I kept him another 2 years with NO problems before he died from cancer...best mannered, gentle dog I ever had! Still have his ashes!!
|
The little brown boy is a nice guy. The blonde on the left not so much. She can be a "bully" at times. I guess that's how they got their name.
|
ArizonaKAT, My "bully" is the older mixed breed mutt (no pit bull in her) who is excitable and not always so nice. The pittie is sweeter and far more loving. She's a 60 pound lapdog. But my gosh, she's powerful and it's something we recognize and respect!
Joan, so you know the joys of the breed! If only I'd understood years earlier! These last 3 years with her have been unbelievable. That dog locks onto our eyes and seems to look into our souls. I swear they had her in mind when someone came up with the saying, "I want to be the person my dog thinks I am." |
We had a rotweillor, the biggest gentlest animal we ever had. At that time we also had a boxer. Needless to say no one bothered us. When the boxer laid down and passed away our Rotti just sat next to her and howled. She was devastated. She is gone now also, we'd have another one but homeowners insurance won't cover us if we did. Luckily boxers aren't in that category.
|
Kat that quilt is pretty yay for you getting it done. Love your dogs it saddens me the pits and rotties are villanized the over abundance of them are sweet dogs . Most of the awful things we here is because of bad dog owners but they are very strong very powerful animals so when they snap it is as bad as it gets. I remember when I was a kid dobermans and the German Shepheard were the "evil" dog. Terri your story made me sad I think it would have broken my heart if I had seen that.
|
Love the color in these blocks!
Terriamn,
Love the colorful blocks in the photo. I remember your fabric from Jade 2. How could I forget it? I loved it and tackled the most difficult block I had ever made. I think I may have suffered minor brain damage from the experience.....although no one seems to have noticed :) Bee

Terri, your dog looks a bit like my dog, Connie. She and Ripley wore their coats during a very cold morning recently.
Blue must have been a beauty. Here's my Gracie who loves to sleep with her paws covering her eyes. Eight pounds and she rules the both dogs. (Connie's disinterested, Ripley's afraid of her.) How I love cats! Bee, I cannot imagine why the block for Terri was so tough...it "only" had 73 pieces of fabric! |

There's my mini! His name is Duke! (don't laugh).
|
I'm sure since he's a MinPin, he thinks he should have been called King. The ones I've met are big dogs in little dog bodies. So cute!

Took him home several times. He even made it back to my place before I got home once. Finally gave up and told the neighbor if he wanted him back, he'd have to come and get him. I still have him. |
GREAT STORY. He was meant to be yours Or rather you were meant to be his.

He used to be my next door neighbor's. He would break out of his pen daily and I'd chase him home. I moved 2 miles down the road and thought that would stop him. Opened my door one morning and who pops in through the puppy door? You got it, Duke.

It's funny how some dogs love everyone, and some dogs get a bee in their bonnet and bond w/ one person. My doxy is that way, my husband rescued him from the street, and was home w/ him for 2 days (I was at work) bonding, but the second I walked through the door, it was over, he decided he was my dog (and I really didn't want a doxy). And my husband is a huge animal lover.

Looks great Joan
|
Beautiful Joan. I can't remember Boom 11 or any other number!!
I had to go down to Joanns today. Wanted to make a few more blocks for my neutrals and checked my stash and I DO NOT have neutrals!! 50% off the quilting fabric - and only needed 1/4 yard of 6 colors - was only $5.41 for all 6 pieces! looking through stash, I have a number of pieces that are all in the rust family and I think I will use that for sashing. Will keep you all updated! |
Darn traveling grandma, wish you would have told me you were going, I need some gray sashing fabric myself
|
Ok, I didn't recognize Joan's fabric, but also knew I hadn't sat out two booms, so was there a boom 12? Boom 11 was from jan to May 2014 and 13 started in June of 2014? Did I miss something?
|
Wow...been gone 11 days, love all the pictures!
|
Yes, MM. Boom 11 had both a 2 month swap and a 4 month swap. I edged Boom 12 in there very shortly after Boom 11 2 month group ended due to requests from several people. Boom 11 and 12 ended almost concurrently. ,

DiFergie, you are being paged over on the Boom 14 sign-up thread!
|
Thanks for clearing that up Janice because if I hadn't have put "boom 11" in my album I wouldn't have known what boom it was from....so it might be boom 12 1/2? LOL I have links to boom 5 when I started all the way up to the one we just finished...Quilting Board must have a HUGH server to be able to save so much information on so many people!! Glad I found the site!!
