So ever have one of those moments when you get a block all planned out lay out the pieces do the hand work then go to put it together and wonder to yourself why you thought a 14 inch block was a good idea? seriously I have no excuses. So I used as many of the pieces as I could and made a small version of my original plan and came up with this. [ATTACH=CONFIG]559167[/ATTACH]




I like it it's pretty but I was afraid it didn't showcase her fabric and I had mmmmmmm several diamonds left over so I made this one too . [ATTACH=CONFIG]559168[/ATTACH]


Then came Janice's awesome floral I knew it had ti be a grandmothers fan so I made the most traditional version of one on the perfectly matched creamy background and it just felt bland. So I added some decorative stitching on the blades.......[ATTACH=CONFIG]559169[/ATTACH]




ya I don't think I improved it at all either yes this possibly a case of just too much so I tried again this time going less traditional more pop and I like it much better. [ATTACH=CONFIG]559170[/ATTACH]

i should mention before I embroidered on anyone's block I did check with them first. Billi for some reason this swap just called out for a few blocks to be embroidered. Only have 2 blocks left and they will also be embroidered. Not sure if I have time to do them before I leave but if not no stress I will do them when I get back to home base. Here so rarely home base is more appropriate then home

Ibex this was a very fun block to make, loved all the pretty colors and the block went together perfectly.
