I finished LJDugas' ballerina block today. It was a battle to the death, nearly mine! If I do this block again it will not have a one piece center, I think w/o that whole center the block would have been easier. I am disappointed w/ how it turned out. It is a variation of wedding ring block. I didn't end up using the white background like I thought about, b/c I found that amazing grey ombe'd fabric, so I made the background pink.

Well I LOVE IT!!!! Thank you so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful ballerina block, Kassaundra. I don't see any reason to be unhappy with how it turned out! :)

Love it, Seasaw, love it. Roflol abt your story of this block's birth. Too funny. I'm going to use green in my sashing a and I prefer it not be in the block too. Thank you for this. I tip my bonnet to you!
BTW the lace around the bonnet isn't tacked down, it's just sewn in the seam on one side, then I connected the lace at the bottom section of the hat so it would look like it's all one piece. I did tack down the ribbon though, that was the hardest part in figuring out how to do that and make it look pretty. The idea for this came from an embroidery of a bonnet filled with flowers, so interpreting it into fabric was a little strange but it was doable. |

Such a creative block Seesaw with the adorable bonnet! Love it.
Here is my block for Moonrise. The color's seem a little different in the photo, but you get the idea. |
I was just telling a friend that I had no thought of receiving a block like this but that I love it! It's so different than what I would make for myself. That's probably why I'm already so fond of it. And maybe the best part is that lace. I'll treasure it. Thank you!

Well I'm glad you like green but after doing this bonnet, I like it better then the frog so we are good.

Bonus block for you, Janice. Originally I had planned on one block but it was too busy, just looked very close to the uncut fabric so I switched gears. But I had already printed & cut the pieces, so I finished the first but I didn't know what to put in the center of the second until this little piece dropped on the floor while I was pawing through my stash looking for something else. Hope it works in your quilt. |
