Please read post #397. Everyone has one extra f8 making it 19. Some have a block for Jaba. That makes 20.

Kassaundra 06-20-2018 01:46 PM

Got my squishy, have all the f8's I'm suppose to have.

Janice McC 06-20-2018 01:55 PM

Thank you for that confirmation! :)

Boom Biz - Final note for tonight - where to find Jaba’s F8.

One final note. Some of you are in both groups. Those of you who are will find the f8 for Jaba in the Waves packet.

Mona G 06-20-2018 02:01 PM

Mine should get here tomorrow.

sewbizgirl 06-20-2018 02:21 PM

I am so freaking annoyed! All week my tracking said my package would be here today, and it still says it. But I got home from town and no package. :hunf: or even ! Checking further, somehow my box went from Georgia, right on past Mississippi out to New Mexico... Albuquerque to be exact. Someone in a post office in GA needs to be thrashed. I hope it comes tomorrow. I'm a little worried about all the extra transit, as they handle packages very roughly and I'm sure this one is packed to the gills. Every day longer it's in transit, it's in more danger of being damaged.

Hoping Libster and I both get ours tomorrow.

terriamn 06-20-2018 02:38 PM

Libster and Sewbiz what the heck is up with your packages, hope they find their way back to you tomorrow

D.Henson 06-20-2018 03:23 PM

Thank you Janice for clarification of the f8s. It's totally clear to me now. :o

Kassaundra 06-20-2018 03:32 PM

Frustrating for sure but at least it is still on this continent unlike Libster!

Terriamn, it’s unfortunately that this has happened but honestly, it’s nothing new. There’s usually one package going astray per swap, but seldom this far. I’ll mention it to my PO Supervisor but it likely didn’t happen under his control. I’m certain they’ll turn up it just may take a few days. Maybe Libster’s will return from PR with a nice bottle of rum as an apology. :). And maybe some Hatch chilies for Sewbiz. I wonder....

Libster 06-20-2018 03:47 PM

Janice, please make that suggestion to your Post Master! I like the way you think. LOL

Libster 06-20-2018 03:59 PM

At this point I have completely forgotten which of my fabrics I sent for which group. Whichever group that the yellow roses shows up in, you can add some matching green to it too. I know I ask for matching yellows, but I've made myself some blocks and they're just blahing out. They need some green added. Fifty lashes with a wet noodle for me.
On a very proud great-gramma moment: My Joely had her dance and gymnastics recital Saturday night and she won a Summer Scholarship! None of us were expecting this, not even her. She was dumbfounded when they called her name. We are so very proud of her. Out of the entire school, not bad for a four year old! (IMHO!)

Cheesehead 06-20-2018 05:12 PM

Big bummer SBG and Libster, I would be so disappointed too. We wait to have our packages show up only to find out they have taken a scenic route. Hope they are back and in your hands real soon.

terriamn 06-20-2018 05:13 PM

Libster congratulations to your great granddaughter.

Our regular mailman must be on vacation, my package and one for dh was sitting on the front steps. We have that problem with Amazon but rarely with USPS

I am surprised the packages have gone so far astray.

Stafar 06-20-2018 06:04 PM

My package arrived-I’ve counted bags twice and have 19. Now to read the notes and look at my pretties!!

At what point does a tone on tone become a print? Before I finish cutting. But now I see Lib has asked for green, so maybe i’ll Go back & see if I have a matching one. But back to the question, if you can see this well enough experienced boomers, does this qualify as a tone on tone? (My fine ironing skills show up in the pic)

Wow Libster. At 4 yrs old, what an accomplishment. Congrats.

sewbizgirl 06-20-2018 06:57 PM

Congrats for Joely, Libster! How fun for her to win.

GramE, your Libster block is looking beautiful. On my computer, the pale yellows almost look solid, but on one piece I can see some faint flowers. I'd consider that tone-on-tone. The gray background is definitely tone on tone, (but then that might just be a fabric you laid your pieces on.)

I hope no one took my comment about thrashing a Georgia postal worker literally. (Actually someone did!) It was meant to be in jest....

Looking for my and Libster's blocks to come home tomorrow. I wanna play! :)

PamelaOry 06-20-2018 07:04 PM

So..... it’s 8pm here and still no mail. My package is “out for delivery” but that means very little these days. We are having quite a time ladies!

Yes, SewBiz it’s a piece of flannel I hung up on the wall. I didn’t want to cut anymore until I got an opinion on the tone on tone question. But Libster is now looking for green, I have loads of green.

GramE I call those TOT.

I finished my first block today. Joan I couldn't pass up on your repeats, and your fabric request was a no brainer WOW, so yours was first up for me. Here it is.

Pamela, I am positively salivating at your packet, I didn't realize you were sending a print, stripe and dot all it one, I am going to have to ponder that print for a minute to choose the best areas for fussy cutting.

GramE, this block looks great to me. Please don't change anything. Your fabrics look like tone-on-tones to me. I love the yellow you framed the center with!
Please, nobody stress over the "no other prints" request. As long as it's not a busy, distracting print, it'll work just fine.

Janice McC 06-21-2018 03:10 AM

Libster, will do! But personally, I'd like those Hatch chilies from NM. Absolutely the best. :)

And congrats to your g'granddaughter! A prodigy perhaps?

I think it was in the upper left corner of your pic, it was the one I had said if I could choose I would want.

Both galleries are open now. As pix are posted, I'll go ahead and try to move them to the gallery as quickly as possible. In the first few weeks, it'll be a bit tough to keep up but i'll do my best.

Also, please remember to shrink your photos to 200kb or smaller before posting here whenever possible. If you don't know how to do it, now's a fine time to learn! Check out your favorite search engine for help. Thanks!

Janice McC 06-21-2018 03:59 AM

Terriamn, love this block! The green fabric in particular is so cute.

Yeah, I think these blocks will really need some green to brighten them up.

Stafar 06-21-2018 05:09 AM

so many nice examples of blocks coming out, kind of sad I'm stuck at work and can't play. I did buy a nice book yesterday all 12.5 block patterns and am going to study the heck out of it today; it's called "The QUiltBlock Cookbook" now if the phone would stop disturbing me.

D.Henson 06-21-2018 06:55 AM

Kass, the block you made for Joan is fantastic!!
Terri, very cool block for Darcy. I’m looking forward to working with Halloween fabric.

Billi, this block is my nemesis and I was determined to conquer it. First quarter went well, second I must have twisted and turned those fabrics every which way. Tears were seconds away then I remembered what doc said about placing pieces over the one I have previously completed and it worked. The individual pieces stood out to me and went together like a charm

Libster, love the yellow blocks... especially the second one with the 4 Friendship Stars. Where did that block come from? I love it!

Stafar, I thought I knew all the block books, but have never heard of Quilt Block Cookbook. Cute name! I'll have to look for it.

Beautiful, GramE! I love any kind of a "folded corners" block. I see you got two butterflies in the top two corners, perched on the beautiful yellow flower. Your green looks great with it, too.

joanelizbay 06-21-2018 10:41 AM

Love it Kass! Havent even got my package yet...:(

I love this one, GramE! That green just makes the other fabrics pop. Thank you!

Sewbiz, someone did those 4 friendship stars in our last Boom. I loved it so I just drew it out and went from there. It's just 4- 6 1/2" stars put into one block. I don't remember who made it last Boom, but thanks.

Just a note: My F8s are now "in transit". No destination, just "in transit". LOL No delivery date now either. LOL Gotta' laugh!
