Beautiful block Ladies and Jaba so so glad to hear your great news..and Thanks to all for your prayers and please keep them coming..My daughter is having a lot of complications and they have call in a infectious disease doctor and when she dose get to go home she will have to do 30 more days of IV antibiotics because her infection is that bad. But I know that prayer changes all things bad! Hoping to get to my f-8 soon

terriamn 02-16-2019 07:39 AM

Nana Kathy what is your dd’s first name. Seems easier to pray when I can add a name.

queenbarbie great blocks

Sewbiz you did an amazing job fussy cutting Joan’s fabric

FYI, I'm prone to mistakes such as giving credit to the wrong person as I post pix to the gallery. If you spot one, please don't hesitate to let me know by pm or email. It hasn't happened yet, but it will. :)

queenbarbiej - I really like that!

I got one done - zozee said brights - and I had a stack of the handspray fabrics sitting on my cutting table for my crazy quilt project - now on to the next one!

jaba - that is great news!

Cheesehead 02-16-2019 10:24 AM

Macybaby that's a gorgeous quilt block you made for Zozee!

All the blocks being made are turning out so pretty, it is so much fun every time I log in to see what everyone is making.

Jaba, that is wonderful news!
NK, so sorry your daughter is having complications following her surgery. Will continue to keep her in my prayers.

MB, fantastic block. I am blown away.

finished 3 more but between here and the downstairs Cheesehead’s is all wrinkled. Will iron first.

H4B I thought your fabric told a wonderful story and wanted to use as many of the pictures in the print as possible. Hope you like it, it’s a bright one

And Nana Kathy added your requested gray and the blue in the flowers.

Spent all morning looking at block patterns. Trying to find a pattern to utilize Joan’s fabric and just couldn’t find he right one. Then cheeseheads had me stumped till I found one I could use the red square she sent as well as adding the dark brown and cream to her focus fabric. Seems like an awfully long time was spent to make only 3 blocks. Some days it’s easy and the next is challenging to say the least

Beautiful blocks, Cheese and Terri! I've been working on blocks today too.

Rain forest lizards for DarcyShannon's little boy quilt. I've been saving this piece of lizards for just the right usage, and along it came!

One for Libster:

And another for Libster:

And this one is Macybaby's. The center fabric she sent was so gorgeous, I didn't want to cut it any smaller!

Hubby was gone all day, he needed some "his" time, he's been under a lot of stress too. So today I walked and sewed, walked and sewed.....sure you all get the idea :) Hope these blocks will work in your quilts ladies.

Everyone's blocks are such an inspiration! I worked on Macybaby's block this afternoon.

I'm nearly finished with Joan's block and hope to finish it after dinner and cleaning up.

Cheesehead 02-16-2019 03:31 PM

Wow, everyone has sure been busy this afternoon... Terri, SBG, Jaba and NZ all such pretty blocks! SBG, that fabric for DS's block is too cute!

Now I am going to check in on the "Laters" and see what they are up to.

I thought I would check in from the later group and see how things are here in sooner. All of the blocks are fabulous!
Jaba, I am so glad to hear that you got good news from your tests! I wish I was still in Florida so that I could come and give you a hug in person!
I posted some pictures on the later thread of quilts I saw at a quilt show a couple days ago. If anyone is interested in seeing them, go check them out.

Libster 02-16-2019 04:53 PM

Macybaby, I love your blocks for Jaba! That first one is completely over the top for me, and the second one is right behind it.

Libster 02-16-2019 04:54 PM

Thank you, Jaba, for my double star. You know what I like.

And I chose directional fabric, why I have no idea.

Macybaby 02-16-2019 05:45 PM

terriamn, those are both very nice looking blocks!

I had to take a break from sewing to make DH a cheesecake (late Vday treat). This time I added cocoa powder to the crust and swirled in some melted dark chocolate into the batter. DH bought some raspberries when he went shopping this AM - so tomorrow I'll make sauce for the top.

zozee 02-16-2019 05:48 PM

My mind is blown, Cathy! Gorgeous and imaginative work and oh-so-bright. Love love love it! How in the world do you come up with such amazing blocks?

All of you--wow! This is so much fun to see what you put together for each other.

Question: How do write over top the picture of the block? (the to/from part) That really helps ID'ing maker and recipient at a glance.

Love your blocks, Macybaby and Terri! Yours too, NZQuilter... I made the very same block today, for Libster! We must be on the same wavelength. :D

Here are some more I got done today. I only have 5 left to make, so I'm going to save some fun for later and go knit tonight... baby things.

This is Martha Washington's Star for NanaKathy... That's a pale blue like her flowers, not a white.

Another one for Joan. Just a weird partly AnglePlay block.

Last one for Macybaby... another AnglePlay block.

terriamn 02-16-2019 06:02 PM

Jaba thank you, love both of my blocks.

terriamn 02-16-2019 06:05 PM

Sewbiz love your angle play blocks.

Macybaby great blocks for Jaba

Here's one for Joanelizbay:

Unfortunately the lighting wasn't the best for the picture and Joan's pretty flowers show being a bit washed out. But it's such a pretty fabric!

zozee 02-16-2019 07:37 PM

Excellent use of the fabric, NZ. So pretty, I love it.

Sewbiz, that bright Angle Play is really cool!

lots more pretty blocks - Love that orange peel! Applique is something I keep telling myself I should learn how to do well. But that means I'd have to do enough of it to get good at it - not sure if that is going to happen LOL!

Here is a block for sewbizgirl - I love the soft look of the fabric.

sewbizgirl 02-17-2019 10:28 AM

Thank you for that lovely block, Macybaby! Those teeny-tiny 9 patches... WOW.

Mona G 02-17-2019 11:23 AM

cheese, this is one of my favorite patterns and I love the fabic you added. Thank you.

I am finding fabric today, not sure if I will get any sewing done.

This afternoon I made a block for Libster, The Florida Star.

Thank you Terri for the beautiful block, that's a great block pattern.
Thank you to QueenB for the pretty block.

Gorgeous day here in the deep South, the temperature outside right now is 80*. The azalea bushes are just starting to open up, another week or so and they should be in full bloom.

Cheesehead 02-17-2019 12:41 PM

MacyBaby another fantastic block, great job!

Here are two blocks I've made this afternoon. First one is for Queenbarbiej. The pattern was named Blue Heaven, but I've renamed it Purple Paradise for obvious reasons. Hope you like it.
Next block is for joanelizbay. I made you a Sawtooth Star. Your fabric was too pretty to chop up. I like it so much that I already had 2 yards of it myself. If anybody comes up short, just holler at me. I'll be glad to share with you.

Beautiful blocks, cheesehead, mona and libster! We've been sewing today... I got these three done:

For Mona, an Autumn block that started off as "Snowy Owl" before I changed it significantly :D.

Another Autumn block for Mona, called "Forest Paths".

This is "Hopkins Square" for queenbarbiej. The light color washed out, but is really aqua.
