I'm off to a Mardi Gras ladies luncheon today, got my beads on and I'm ready to go. I did manage to make one block this morning for SBG.

Zozee I have the "sweetest" block for your cupcake fabric. I hope you will like it. I will make it this weekend.

Gorgeous blocks! I have two done and hoping to sew some more this week. Pictures soon.

Cheesehead very pretty and soft looking block for Sewbiz.
It’s about 12 degrees here but the sun is shining and you feel so much better. Ran errand to buy my liquids. 9 days pre surgery will be on liquid diet, protein drinks, water, coffee, tea, popsicles and water. Day before surgery clear liquid. Have a good variety to drink. Notice I am not even bothering to think tomorrow test will be positive. |

Love your spools block too... so pretty and bright. |

Gorgeous blocks Cheesehead.
I am so frustrated. New machine and it the 1/4 inch seam and it do not get along. Going by the quilt shop to day to get the seam guide setter. Guess it is what I get for sewing with the same machine for 20 plus years. |
lots of lovely blocks posted! I'm hoping to have some time to sew this afternoon - didn't have any time on Monday or Tuesday and I miss my sewing!
I'm seeing several blocks made with some of the same patterns I'd selected earlier - so do we want to try to keep track of what others have already made and not repeat it? Though I figure I can "cheat" but doing the patterns that have larger pieces as four 6" blocks and put them together. Then you get any secondary pattern that shows up in the middle, which is often really neat too. I'll admit - I am addicted to little pieces. I consider anything over 2.5" to be on the "large" size. And for making one 12" block, it's not like I'm going to get totally sick of the pattern before I get done with it :) That is also why I like doing this type of swap, those that enjoy working with the larger pieces are going to make blocks that use them, so I'll get some of both without having to sew up the type I don't enjoy working with as much. |
Macybaby, one of the reasons for posting blocks and for the gallery is to see what others have made. Some boomers do avoid duplicating a block previously made for another Boomer but there's no prohibition against making a block made earlier by someone else. Besides, unless another person uses the exact same additional fabrics, they should look at least a bit different. And sometimes blocks are made by two people concurrently so there's no way for it to be avoided completely. Duplicates happen. :)

Update from mammogram and ultra sounds. No cancer, the discomfort is coming from multiple engorged and enlongated lymph nodes on both sides of breasts. Doctor is hopeful it’s in response to the nasty infection my body is trying to fight. There was cracking and bleeding from the mammogram and they suggested I go straight to dermatology. With the massive snow storm we were expierencing they thought there would be lots of cancellations. No luck, there were lots of cancellations but the doctors all wanted to leave also. Then doc from Bariatric called and said he saw my appointments were near by and he had cancellations. I could stop and get my pre op if I wanted. So home safe and sound and no more doc appts. and I am ready for surgery

Yay Terri, that's great news...doing the happy dance with you!
|
Awesome news Terri, well except for the skin issues
|
Terriamn, overall great news from the doc. Glad you made it home safely. :)
|
Gorgeous, Terri! Thank you! I see you got that block to work... so beautiful. :o
|
Thanks everyone we have had 10” of snow so far. Minnesota set record today for snowiest Feb. on record. Thankfully schools were closed so not a lot of traffic. My sister is sitting in a Texas laughing her hind end off
|
Sewbiz I had to do some modifying. Luckily it wasn’t the fabric you sent that had the goofy cutting directions
|
Oh, great news on the breast issue.... WHEW, breathing a big sigh of relief! I know you are doing the happy dance. Thank you, Lord!
Hope your hubby is feeling better too. |
Love those blocks for Terri, Cheesehead. I'm thinking that 30's prints with plain white look really good! I have a bunch of those prints, and may pair them with white in a future quilt or two.
|
Cheesehead thank you, both blocks are so crisp and precise. Love them
Sewbiz hubby is responding well to the antibiotics and feeling much better ( strep throat ). |
Terri, I am so happy to hear your news! What a huge relief! And God bless the dermatologist who agreed to see you while you were close by. Very glad you were able to make it out in the midst of the record-breaking snow. (We got about 6 here today--it came "fast and flurrious!")
Ladies, these blocks are just so pretty. Cheese, I love the soft lilacs you paired up in yours. I plan to finish up one this evening that I had to unsew a bit because I stayed up past my bedtime goofing it up. |
