Beautiful blocks, SBG, Libster, Mona G, Cheesehead, and Macybaby! You all have been sewing up a storm!

Mona G 02-17-2019 03:03 PM

Thanks Sew, those are both great blocks. I can't wait to see all of these together.

Thank you Terri for the beautiful block, that's a great block pattern.
Thank you to QueenB for the pretty block.

Gorgeous day here in the deep South, the temperature outside right now is 80*. The azalea bushes are just starting to open up, another week or so and they should be in full bloom.

Another new to me star! Thank you, Cheesehead.
Macybaby, I can't even imagine making those teeny little 9 patches. Gorgeous block!
Sewbiz, love your blocks, 'specially that first fussy cut one.
Everybody is making such great blocks this Boom. Our finished quilt show is going to be spectacular. Way to go, Boomers!

terriamn 02-17-2019 05:00 PM

Sewbiz, Libster and Mona love all your blocks. Each one is special

No sewing for me today.

zozee 02-17-2019 05:08 PM

These are all so lovely! I am pretty much stalking this thread. It feels like when my mom used to give us girls each a new surprise toy, game, coloring book, or puzzle every 100 miles of a long road trip.

Macybaby 02-17-2019 06:48 PM

Mona G - those for me are perfect! I'm really liking what everyone is doing so far. Very creative!

Darcyshannon 02-17-2019 11:23 PM

It was fun to unwind at the end of the day looking at what you all have been up to this weekend.

I especially like the beautiful one by Macybaby with the mini nine patches in pastels. I am impressed with them all.

Today I finished a few blocks and will get pictures and post soon.

Lstew2212 02-18-2019 03:31 AM

Beautiful and amazing blocks ladies.

Janice McC 02-18-2019 04:13 AM

Wow! Beautiful blocks Boomers! I'm working on moving them to the gallery. Please check later today that I credited your blocks correctly. Thanks.

I made a few more blocks this weekend. First one is Cheeseheads, second NZquilter and the last two are for Terriamn.

NZquilter 02-18-2019 06:00 AM

I love my block, Queen! Thank you!

terriamn 02-18-2019 06:40 AM

Thank you queen, I also love my block

jaba 02-18-2019 07:03 AM

Macybaby love the blocks, absolutely amazing. Thank you so much! Sewed yesterday while watching the 500, will post later today. Hubby is helping me clean house and have to say he’s doing most of it. Might get some time to sew 1 or 2 this afternoon

Queenbarbiej 02-18-2019 07:17 AM

Ladies, Would your like your blocks folded and put back into the baggies you sent them in or would you rather have them in bigger baggies so that they stay flat? And If you want them in bigger baggies would some of you that double up would like both blocks in the same bag? Right now having all the blocks that I have made so far, The gallon Ziploc baggie is twice as big. You ladies tell me what you would like?

sewbizgirl 02-18-2019 07:30 AM

Hi Barbie,

We always fold them up and put them back in their small bags. They will press out once they get to us! Be sure you put each block in it's own bag, so you don't mess up Janice's count.

terriamn 02-18-2019 07:51 AM

Queen, yep Sewbiz is 100% right, back in the same baggie you received it in marked on the note that was sent with or add a note saying block was made by you.

Janice McC 02-18-2019 09:06 AM

I cannot stress this enough, Queen, and everyone, for the sake of shipping and my sanity, the goal here is small baggies. Please fold the blocks you make neatly and put them back in the original small baggie they came in and then into the gallon sized bag for shipping back. I know the blocks will need pressing out of the baggies but the blocks will not be harmed in any way by folding. Also, it is very important to add your name as maker to the baggie, either as a label or on a slip of paper inside. I need to see who the owner is as well as who made the block. Both those board names must be easily readable from the outside of the baggies. Don't make me go looking, please! I've got eyes that are as old as I am so don't make it tiny! Thank you! And since we're talking about shipping already, do not ship me any completed blocks just because you finish early. I prep an area to accept and save them and the next few weeks are a bad time for me to receive any packages back. Thanks!

I will keep them in their original baggies they came in.

Zozee, I open my pictures in Paint, and from there you can type a text over it and save it.

sewbizgirl 02-18-2019 10:17 AM

Beautiful star for Jaba, Cheesehead.

terriamn 02-18-2019 11:43 AM

Beautiful star Cheesehead. I didn’t have any true gold colored fabric, more yellowy.

Saw doctor again today for one week follow up and she ordered a rush mammogram on my left side. She thinks the discoloration is from the infection but is in total agreement with me that this isn’t a wait and see situation. Boy oh boy talk about being a basket case. I just want to curl up under a quilt and hide.

I'm so sorry for you, Terri! I'll certainly pray all is fine.

I made an airplane block for Darcyshannon's boy-quilt. It's a block I've been wanting an excuse to make for a few years now; it was so much fun!

Cheesehead 02-18-2019 12:04 PM

Geez Terri, that's not the kind of scare you need now! Isn't your surgery scheduled for a couple weeks from now? I hope they can figure out what's going on with your infection so it doesn't interfere with your surgery. Thinking of positive thoughts for you.

Super duper airplane block NZ!

Janice McC 02-18-2019 01:00 PM

Terriamn, hang in there. Try not to go to the place where you put yourself through H*** with worry. Try to keep your mind in a positive place. Not easy. Hugs until you get your results.

Libster 02-18-2019 02:55 PM

Loving all the blocks being made.
Terri, keep your chin up, Girl. All of us are right behind you with our support and prayers. ((((((Hugs))))))

sewbizgirl 02-18-2019 03:55 PM

Ditto Terri... will be praying about the infection. Stay positive!

What beautiful blocks are showing up today! Great work, NZ, Cheese, Jaba and Libster. That Diamonds are Forever is a terrific block. Love that airplane block, too!

ibex94 02-18-2019 03:58 PM

terriamn 02-18-2019 04:22 PM

Very fun airplane block, Jaba, Cheesehead and Libster all your blocks are so pretty

zozee 02-18-2019 04:33 PM

Terri, you're in my prayers. I know it's hard to wait for answers, but may God's peace be in you.

The blocks are looking good. I really like that one Libster made. Is it time-consuming, Lib?

I included all the islands and of course I couldn’t hack through the turtle. I found a teal green watery fabric and framed it with fussy cutting. I hope it will be a much loved Hawaii quilt. I wish I was in Hawaii right now.

Here is a block that I think will work for several boom fabrics. I made this one for the quilt I am making my mom. You may see this in your fabrics. :o

It goes pretty smoothly, just gotta' pay attention to getting the corner units put together right. After that, it's a breeze.
