Yes as I am doing 2 packages.

Should you only have 2, not 3?

Janice McC 05-28-2021 05:19 PM

Hav is correct. Because we have only 14 people making 19 blocks, everyone has several duplicates per package. Hav had 2 of yours in one package and one in another. She’s absolutely correct and you are lucky enough to get three blocks from her. :)

I have 19!!!!

Here's my first Presidents block for Ibex! I knew I wanted to do something to make it like a flag as soon as I saw your fabric! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/smile.png And the stripes are 'bonnie hunter style'.

I think I'll work on some more patriotic blocks for Klaws next!

Randomly I picked three from the bag to work on, turns out they are are JayneW's. Hope you like these.. I had a lot of fun making them..

sewbizgirl 05-28-2021 07:16 PM

Hopefully you have two bags of 19 each, Hav...

sewbizgirl 05-28-2021 07:23 PM

Love your blocks, ahwu and Kristiejoy.

Aren't I the lucky one! Beautiful blocks.

kristijoy 05-28-2021 08:08 PM

Cut out two blocks for Klaws. Will sew them up tomorrow.

With making single blocks...I'm going to need another leader/ender project! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/tongue.png I zipped through my current one (it's now on my design wall waiting to be put together) and have started on another!

How about a pic of your LE, Kristijoy? I’m a big fan of Leaders/Enders. My current LE is a Carolina chain I’m making while working on Shattered blocks, both Bonnie Hunter designs. I’m a long way from finished with either one but it’s so enjoyable to see 2 projects progress at the same time. Here’s a pic of the scrappy CC up on the design board. There are the remnants of previous boom blocks in there. Never met a scrap I couldn’t use.

sewbizgirl 05-28-2021 09:07 PM

I love that, Janice! So do you cut all the pieces ahead of time and keep them stacked to the right of your sewing machine?

Janice McC 05-28-2021 09:13 PM

I cut up enough for 20 or so and then leave them in a small box beside the machine. When those are gone I cut up more. I don’t like doing too much cutting at one time. I get bored.

Good morning, Zinnias! We had a wicked thunderstorm roll through last night and it brought nice, cool temperatures with it. What a relief from the last few days of stifling heat and humidity.

It looks like everyone has had a block made for them. If you haven't yet checked out the gallery, please do so. I've got some more to add this morning. Speaking of blocks, Ahwu, I particularly like that second Spartan block you made for JayneW. So interesting to look at! Marcialee, pretty first blocks you've made. Kristijoy, another fine block for Ibex94. Great jobs, ladies!

Thank you all for getting in touch with me re: your F8 count. Unfortunately, nobody received extras. The four f8s seem to have disappeared into thin air. It's frustrating and disappointing. I'll send an email out later today to those affected by the loss.

I hope everyone has a lovely day and a pleasant long Memorial Day Weekend.

terriamn 05-29-2021 05:57 AM

Kristie and ahwu love your blocks

Janice what a fun scrap quilt, I just can’t get into making them because of all the cutting involved

Our friends retirement party last night was wonderful, first time in a year we could all get together. Had a potluck of appetizers, sat around a bonfire and one of the guys grabbed his guitar and we all sang for a few hours. Wonderful post Covid get together

Janice McC 05-29-2021 06:28 AM

I've sent out emails to the three Boomers whose F8s have gone into the wind. Ahwu and Juliasb both have one missing and JayneW has two missing. I've already heard back from both Juliasb and JayneW who are tremendously gracious about it. Thank you, JayneW and Juliasb. You all have my apologies for this weird and distracting happening, definitely a first and not in a good way.

Thanks, Terriamn. I love the quilt but hate the cutting. Glad you had a fabulous time with your friends! Sounds like the perfect evening.

Once I got caught up here I see that my concerns about having up to 3 for the same person are not a real concern. I also finished another block. I regret that this block is not so perfect but it does lay flat. I am usually right on but somehow I missed on this one. I hope you will still enjoy it Jayne W. Not the best picture either. I seem to be missing things this morning. Time for a break.

JayneW 05-29-2021 07:07 AM

Wow! All my blocks are amazing. You are doing amazing things with The Sparty fabric!! I am blown away Every time I login. Speaking of being blown away, we leave this afternoon for our sail trip. Not sure if I’ll be checking in or not but I will be excited to make blocks when I get home!

Janice McC 05-29-2021 08:15 AM

Jayne, have a fabulous sail trip! I hope the weather cooperates and you have a safe voyage.

Have a great trip Jayne! Sounds like a marvelous adventure! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/thumbup.png We can feel the travel bug too. Our trip starts in a little over 2 weeks!

Gorgeous! I love her fabrics... The gray print is just like the ones I use to make my granddaughters' clothes.

Here's a block for SBG. I promise the blue marches the blue in the barrel. It looks incredibly bright in the photo, but it is not that bright.

Pretty blocks, Kristijoy. What nice work you do.

Hav, thank you for my block! The blue looks good from here.

Here's one I made for AHWU. It's called Classic Blue. I loved it because it look like there's a twisted taffy or a garlic knot in the center. Hope it works for your summery quilt, AHWU.

Libster we miss you so much

Sewbiz, Kristie and H4B all your blocks are gorgeous.

leaving for home in a bit, we decided with the crappy weather to just go home and working the house. Hopefully I will have time to make a block or two

Have a great Sunday

klaws 05-30-2021 06:46 AM

Wow! I miss a day checking in and there are so many wonderful blocks being shown.
Thank you SewBiz, H4B and Kristijoy for my blocks. I love them all!
I'm almost finished with piecing the top of the quilt I'm working on. Then to have it put on a longarm. I should be able to start on the boom blocks this coming week.
Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

klaws 05-30-2021 07:13 AM

Has anyone heard from Kassaundra? I really miss her awesome work.

Janice McC 05-30-2021 07:19 AM

I reached out to her, gee, it must be 9 months ago at least. She was very busy with being an EMT due to covid. She said she was well. I miss her terrific work as well.

Here are my first two blocks. They are both for AHWU. Following that is a picture of the quilt top from boom 22 and then a top from boom 25. The final picture is of a t-shirt quilt that I need to get quilted and bound before my niece's graduation party so I probably won't be posting many blocks for the next week or so.

Janice McC 05-31-2021 09:01 AM

Afternoon boomers! Lots of beautiful blocks have been posted. I’m up in Asheville for the day with Charlie and family so I’ll add them to the gallery tomorrow. Enjoy your Memorial Day!
