Missing fat quarters have been found. They slipped out of the large baggie and went behind something. Thank goodness

Love the blocks for AHWU, B'stone. She is going to have such a pretty quilt! Your finished quilts look great, too. |
I had a terrible accident yesterday... falling down a flight of outdoor concrete steps, face first. Yes, face first, after my shoe got hung up on something and over I went! It was a horrible fall, but I only broke a tiny bone in my left hand. I'm scraped, bruised and swollen, but will heal up. I'm out of all sewing for a little while as I have a cast on my left wrist. Thought I could do things with it, but nope... my thumb has to stay immobilized.
Needed that bubble suit! |

Two from me tonight!
Ibex and Annt59 I have ideas for a couple more...then I need to put on my thinking cap. I have a pile of quilt magazines on my desk here with sticky notes all over them! https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/heart.gifIt's a great excuse to look through them. My Aunt is a great thrifter and gave me a couple boxes of magazines before Covid. They have kept me going for over a year! |

Oh my gosh! I’m glad you are not hurt worse but that sounds bad enough. Try to rest and let your body heal. We never seem to be wearing our bubble suits when we need them most.

Beautiful blocks everyone! Hiya Libster!
Kristijoy -- my block is beautiful. It captures memorial day and the important presidents beautifully! |
All the new blocks showing up are so pretty! Nice work, everyone.
|
Wow, Sewbiz! That fall sounds awful. I'm so glad it's only one broken bone. Bubble suits are definitely in order for our group. I hope you heal quickly, just no repeating, okay?
|
I threw away the shoes that got hung up on the stairs and will take a safer, flatter route out of my Sunday School class from now on. No repeats!

I found a little sewing time this morning to make this Christmas block for Marchialee. The Santa fabric is so much fun!!!
|
Wonderful blocks Nelco! The fabric with the toys is a really fun and cheerful!
|
It’s interesting what you said about your shoes getting “hung up.” I have a pair that have done that a few times on steps. Mine are going in the trash tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your very painful story, SBG.

Hi Libster! Maybe a requirement of the group should be to get a bubble suit before joining. Btw, I Was up in Asheville yesterday and we were looking at a house. Not quite right but we’ll keep looking. NC looks to be a definite eventually.

Oh no, Sewbiz you are the last person I would expect to take a fall. All of the exercise classes you’ve taught may have kept your injuries from being worse.
take care of yourself my boom sisters! |
Sewbiz so glad your fall wasn’t worse but bet you ache all over. Give your body a rest. Imagine one of us taking that fall who aren’t as fit as you.
Love all of today’s blocks, they are all gorgeous. I had a whirl wind afternoon. After much thought and plenty of tears my dd decided buying our house wouldn’t make finance sense. After consoling her I arranged for another realtor to stop in Thursday morning. Then I made arrangements to see a house I had fallen in love with on the internet. Hubby had a dentist appointment so a friend was going with me. We were racing around trying to finish 3 days of work into one. Then realtor called back and house sold this afternoon. I’m bummed but obviously it wasn’t meant to be. Janice are houses selling in one day in SC? Hope you find your perfect house |
Terri, it’s really hard to buy a house right now! People are willing to pay $30K above asking and in cash! Are you looking for a house in New England? Not Texas? I’m confused.
I wondered what MJP was going to say about my fall! We were laughing with the hospital staff because I told them I was the “fall prevention” teacher at my gym! I really think what helped me the most was that I’d been lifting weight since I was 50 (now 65) and that really keeps your bone density. All my Boomer friends: get your bone density checked and lift weights! It’s never too late to start. 😊 Thank you for everyone’s well wishes! |
Terriamn, houses in my neighborhood are selling for much higher than normal prices and in a day. In Asheville area where we are looking, it’s much the same. We might just sell this place and move to the cabin for a while. It would certainly force us to unload a bunch of stuff!

Love the block you made for me, Hav! Love the one you made for Juliasb too!
Cute Christmas block, Nelco. I'm trying to find something directional for Jayne's stripes. Janice, what is that handsome birdie in your avatar? |

Sewbiz we are looking for a house here in Minnesota about an hour west of Minneapolis. Yes we are also looking for a house in Texas to live in For the winter. Lots of changes going on.
Janice we plan on selling our house and living at the lake till we find a house. Going in with a cash offer is a real positive to the sellers. We have rented a storage locker but have tossed, donated and gave away a ton of stuff. I really should have purged more of my sewing stuff. |
Hav, pretty blocks for Nelco and juliasb.
Terriamn, we’re prepared to do a cash offer but would prefer to get rid of the house or the cabin first. It’s absurd for us to think of having three places at once. Must seriously start purging now. sewbizgirl, that’s a rose-breasted grosbeak. I’ve been lucky enough to catch sight of one only twice and this was the best shot I could get with the cell as it ate at the feeder. |
So sorry about your fall SBG. Hope you get healed up and sewing soon.
Loving all the blocks and a bit sad as I watch my bag with unused F8 dwindle. |

I just finished another block for Ibex94. This one was a challenge for me. I hope you like it. It does tell a story.
|
Have4Boys the block you made me is beautiful. Thank you so much.
|
juliasb -- love my block! The flags dancing around those guys is awesome!
|
I better get started on cutting fabric. Picking the perfect quilt block is taking a lot of time on my end. It doesn't help that life is a huge distraction from my attempts to sew. Cheers to all this wet Wednesday!
