Terriamn and LAF, thanks for starting my day off with lovely blocks! Always a pleasure to come here first thing every morning and see what’s new.
Had a nice visit with friends yesterday for lunch. Sat around gabbing for hours! What a great time. Today is an open day and I hope to finish up one block that’s cut out but a bit tricky for me to piece with lots of triangles. I hope to start another, too. I do have laundry and some cleaning to do but honestly, the cleaning will have to wait. Blocks are more important. (Smiling) Hope you have a nice day. ***** |
How nice, AQ! I still have enough blocks for a second small quilt. One day I’ll get to it. Hope you’ll join us again in the future. Be sure to stop in regularly.

Was just thinking about Cheesehead. Isn’t she due to have eye surgery soon? Has anyone heard from her?
edited to add that I checked back and see she’s due in May to have cataract surgery on one eye and then again on the other in June. Hope all is going well with you, Cheese! |
I cut two Bloom blocks and will likely do a few more to take along and finish at my spring retreat. Usually I take just one project and complete it start to finish. This spring it is a collection of odds and ends that need attention and/or have deadlines. I so want to move them toward the finish line. The plan is to clear my sewing table and allow me to tackle more UFOs including several sets of Boom block sets. (Embarrassed that they are not finished yet.)

Thank you for the Amish Star block, Janice! Beautifully done, as usual. Love Terri's and LAF's blocks too. Moon, glad you are enjoying the stars. Did you want all the blocks done as stars?

I was looking at an old Boom thread and found this list of free block sites we used to post every Boom swap... Here it is, copied in its entirety:
Here is the list of the websites we like and use for block patterns, followed by some books that have 12" blocks. I will try and post these every swap. https://www.quiltingdaily.com/free-q...ls-quilting-3/ https://www.patchworksquare.com/index.php https://www.generations-quilt-patter...-patterns.html https://www.quilterscache.com/QuiltBlocksGalore46.html http://www.delawarequilts.com/BOMs/index.html Good books that many of us use: Around the Block.... Judy Hopkins Around the Block Again... Judy Hopkins Once More Around the Block... Judy Hopkins 1000 Blocks book by Quiltmaker magazine Tula Pink City Sampler (modern style) |
so pretty!
I just came in to look around. You all are making some beautiful blocks! Hopefully I'll be back for the next swap.
Happy sewing... |
Thank you for the list SBG. It is always fun to search another source for new ideas. I use https://fabric406.com/. I signed up for the newsletter and get two blog messages a week. The Blog features primarily directions for a new pattern most of which are 12 Inch and there is a good list and search feature for blocks in other sizes. Each have colored photo directions and they ALWAYS work.
Off I go to search the new list for new ideas. |

Here’s my bloom block for Terriamn. Hope it fits with your others.

Thank you SBG and WMUTeach for all those sites with blocks. Lots of inspiration.
Hi, Michelle! We look forward to having you join us again. Remember I posted about watching out for those fabric color requests? Well, I broke my own rule by making my block for Terriamn incorrectly. Happily, she’s happy with it although I did offer to fix it. Don’t do what I did which was to pick up colors from blocks that have been posted rather than thoroughly reading the note. It’s possible everyone could have a different request so go with what’s in writing! |
