I have found it is better to go with 6 yards just to be safe-especially once you wash and cut the selvage off..sometimes it is easy to get 4 f8s from a half yard and other times I have found I can get 3 comfortably so that would take 6 yards. Hope this helps. I think you will have an awesome time in this swap-everyone here loves to laugh and have a good time and be friends :-) MJ...you know leaving those nose prints is no fun for DH to clean!! But I know he loves going to the mailbox for you so a fair trade off I think lol Hugs April |
Ok.... I have decided to play again!! Please sign me up!! I cant resist!!! It was so much fun in 2.0!!

Yes, My DH mentioned today when he came in from work that no matter the cost, he wanted me to do that "Boomerang thing" cause he loves to bring me happy mail! This was a picture of him yesterday...

I'd like to get in on this one! I'm sending a PM right now!

purplemem, you are too funny, you and your husband make a good couple, you with your nose on the window, and him with his head stuck in the mailbox. Too funny.

MegsAnn,
Theoretically, if you have 1 yard of fabric, you should get 8 fat eighths. But April is right, once you wash it and account for shrinkage, it could be a bit less. Here's my personal experience: I actually bought 10 yards for 2.0 (I will use some of the excess for borders/sashing/cornerstones and/or pillowcases), and this time I bought 14.5 yards of coordinating fabrics, some of which is already earmarked for borders. I will send out a variety of fabrics to everyone, but they will all coordinate with each other. I'll definitely have enough to piece a backing, make a wallhanging to go with the quilt I make, make pillowcases, bags, whatever my little heard desires! Yay! (Hey, when you can get it for $2.49/yard, how can you pass it up???) Oh, and for everyone from 1.0 and 2.0, who must by now consider me to be the "Paisley Princess", I'll give you all a hint: these fabrics are NOT paisley! I know, right? I'm working outside my favorite comfort zone! Odessa |
Awesome. Thanks for the info ladies! I looked through the photos from 1.0 and 2.0 today and noticed several people did 2 or 3 sets... instead of just one big 35 block quilt. Hmmm... choices, choices. :^)
|
Oh!
I wish I could play... I already have my fabric! I just don't think the fall semester will play along with me. I'll be watching this one, and will be ready for 4.0 |

I'd like to participate. I couldn't finish reading the Boomerang 2 but will joing if I can.
|
Hi.... Can I play too? Hoping you still have a space available. I have done swaps before and round robins, but never a boomarang. Sounds like fun. Now, as soon as I figure out what a pm is, I'll send you one. lol

I have found adding one block I make gives me a nice 72 x 72 quilt which is a great size without borders or sashing. Welcome aboard jupiter! leakus sent you a PM (just need your info in order to add you to the swap :-) ) Hugs April |
Welcome back aboard Detton :-)
Hugs April |
April, sign me up if we have space (which looks like it)
So off shopping I go, and hopefully DH won't brain me too much. hahahaha |
LOL Renee

I have choosen my fabric 6 times :( I am really bad at choosing fabric so I would think this would be easy since I only have to pick one!
I am trying to decide between 1) Bright orange print 2) Light pink and light brown 3) White 4) Solid purple Do you think it would be mean to send white? Maybe I should just let my daughter pick... Any suggestions???? |

Okay just bought my fabric, so fabric hurry up and get delivered all ready, since I hate to iron.

Since we are close to full I spoke to my mailman (who is also my husband:) ). He said for 64 cents I could mail the fabric and it won't go through the machine and get all messed up or lost. In order to do this you have to go to the post office which is a pain since most of you don't have mail people as nice as mine, but it might be worth it.
And now I am off to purchase my fabric. Good thing my fabric store has root beer floats for $1.29 so I can bribe my daughter into going! The ice cream also helps me to deal with the stress of it all! 8000 bolts of fabrics and I only have to pick one, I can do this ;) |

Hugs April |
Oh my I would run out scared with 8000 bolts because I would want it ALL.

I just picked up a consulting job and don't know how much time it will actually take yet. As much as I wanted to join this time, I think I'd better just watch this round and wait for 4.0.

andrea Take a deep breath! Relax-it is ok :-) I work full time as well and have a 4 year old so I know it can seem daunting. However you have to remember you time is just as important as everyone else time! Even if you only get to sew 20 minutes a day you can accomplish so very much! If you need anything we are here to help!! Oh Robin you know you want to join 3-just thing of all those squishies calling your name...and there is only 1 thats right 1 spot left as of right now...
