How to mail merge in Microsoft Works -- I had to look it up myself. It's definitely been awhile! :mrgreen:

I double-clicked the attachment, and in the pop-up box, I picked "Open with Microsoft Works Spreadsheet". :-)

It's probably been 15+ years since I've worked with a spreadsheet. Whew. I'm "fumbly". :lol:

Could be a different in versions ... if you have a gmail account, you can upload it to that and will be able to read/open it ...

OR Depending on the version April has, maybe find that out ...

Hmmm ... I'm not sure. Do you have another spreadsheet program on your computer, like Excel? If so, see if it can open it. :)

Perhaps the spreadsheet could be converted to a plain text file and PM'ed or e-mailed to you.

Well, how cool is that! GMail printed a nicer copy than Microsoft Works did. :mrgreen:

When I double click on attachment it just goes to download, goes to download sheet, but won't let me open it in adobe from download sheet, just says it is unsupported. I have work pad but it wont open, says unsuopported. Trying to attach it to e-mail to Odessa quilts, but can't get it into any program tht will allow me to attach it.

Can you just foward the e-mail to me?

Odessa if you tell me how, maybe I can.

kwiltkrazy-I just re emailed you a PDF version. It will not let you do labels from it but you will have the list. I can send you labels if you need them :-)

Ms Odessa PM me your email addy (somehow in my wonderful cleaning adventure I erased some of my "oldies" :-( )

Anyone who needs labels or a hard copy of the spreadsheet printed and mailed please let me know I am more than happy to send them to you :-)

Hmmmm, Not sure what is going on. It seems there were not this many people in 1 or 2 who could not open. Let me talk to hubby and see if I did something screwy when I practically deleted my entire laptop while cleaning lol and I will let you know! Bear with me ladies one way or the other you will have a list!

Hubby told me if you are running the newest version of Excel there is a patch needed from Microsoft to open the .xls format. However, if you are using the most current version of Excel I can save the spreadsheet in that format and email it to you. I can also have one of my girls at work somehow get it in to a word document for me tomorrow to send to everyone who can not get the excel file....so sorry for the problems everyone!! I thought I was making things easier doing it this way :-(

Hey guys I got it opened in internet. I now have it printed out you guys rock. Mailman will love me tomorrow. Thanks a million Lucinda

Mine was the same way but I tried to print it out and it gave me two pages with all the info, go figure. I still can't get the list to merge and print labels. At this point for me it will be quicker to hand write them.

Jupiter that is what was happening to me also all format no names. Go to internet it did it terriffic for me.

I will mail you 4 sets of labels if you would like. One to mail your F8, One to mail the completed block and then one for the baggy for the F8 and the baggy for the block. Just let me know and I can drop them tomorrow :-)

In excel, it shows the blank grid pages, but when I told it to print, I got 2 pages with all the info.

I am good to go.....

Gotta admit, his only redeeming quality (well, one of) is that he created my two adorable grandsons with my DD#1.

In Excel, I opened the spread sheet and didn't see the info there. Up at the top of the Excel page, I used the zoom % window and moved the size up to 200%. The info is there... even when I moved it back down to 100% or even less.

That be known, we should be able to make labels and merge stuff. Just have to learn how to do that part next! lol

To those of you that get blank pages, make sure that your bar on the bottom is all the way to the left. My data was on sheet 2, but since the bar was to the right, the page appeared blank until I moved it to the left.

Label are printed, envies are addressed, and they should be mailed in the morning. :thumbup:

I had some trouble opening the file too, but I did get it figured out. It was definately operator-error and nothing seemed to be wrong with the file :D

Mine will be leaving tomorrow!!!

I've still got to finish ironing the fabric! Too many irons in my fire! :) I'll get my computer knowing husband to help me make the labels!

Can I just write the addresses out? Or is the label thing just a fringe benefit?

Finally got my list printed. Now to make labels then they will be in the mail, probable tomorrow. Can't wait for squishy's to start arriving.
