marytoddliz, I realized when I got your envelope that your first name (same as my sister's) is not capitalized the same. I apologize. I wrote it incorrectly on the envelope when sending my f8 to you.

Don't worry about it, most of my life I have gone by Mary, or Liz, seems somebody always has the same name, when hubby and I met his Mom's name is Mary so we decided that I would be Marybeth, my Dad used to call me Marybeth so it works for me, and it is way less confusing having same name as MIL. We live next door to each other and it gets a little confusing as we share a phone.

I received 2 f8's today from dconroy84 and yayaquilts.
From dconroy84 I got the mice fabric it is so cute, love the beach fabric from yayaquilts, can't wait to get started on these two blocks.

I'm back inside and supper is over(dinner to some of you). I have another block ready to sew together and put in an envelope. One thing I notice as I am looking for block patterns to use, is that a block that requires more than 2 or 3 colors seems like that it is hard to showcase the fabric that I have from you all. And that really counts out blocks that I might have chosen because I like the block or it is a new challenge for me! There are still many to use and I'm having lots of fun!!!

You could still use the block pattern, just consider repeating the showcase f8 in more spots.

Starting on babeyruth's but her fabric is so pretty I'm having a hard time making myself cut into it. Had to take a break to eat and check my computer.

ok I have changed my mind 3 times on what to make for babeyruth, and now I've decided to go with my first choice. I should have just done that in the first place it seems like it always happens this way.

I think the cat n dog print is so cool from babeyruth!! It makes me chuckle. Can't wait to see what you make, sewhappy!

I received two new fabrics today:

I can't wait to choose fabrics to go with these new fabrics for their blocks, but will have to wait to do that next week, as we are going RVing this weekend and visiting our son's family in Newport Beach. (I haven't quite figured out how to take my machine and needed supplies and where to put them in our RV. I do plan to one of these trips!)

Looks like several finished blocks are being mailed out, we should start seeing pictures soon I can't wait for that.

In answer to your question, I love batiks. I find that they 'play well' with lots of fabrics, not just similar ones. So feel free to use what you choose.

As to taking a machine RVing, I know someone who takes a handcrank machine along when the family travels.

Received my f8 from hoppyfrog today. Black and bright will be easy for me. I have lots of brights in my stash!

Checking in from Seattle, having a super time with my Granddaughter, daughter and the whole family! tomorrow my son arrives with his wife, this is great! Hubby did not check mail so nothing to report, he said he would check in the morning.
