Y'all can still give me your thoughts on the block block since I'm at work, you can have all day.... oooopppsss does that mean I checked on this at work :shock:

Im sorry if I missed something but did girlscouts1 drop out of the swap? Thats the only F8 Im missing and she said she emailed last month saying she couldnt do the swap due to conflicts? I just want to make sure my record keeping is right. Is anyone else expecting their F8 back?

received beautiful blocks last week from Misty(oatw13) Miss gigglewings

I finally finished up some grown-up, well, I really finished them before Thanksgiving but didn't have a chance to get them to the post office until today. For those of you who receive a block from me from this mailing please let me know in what condition they arrived-I changed the type of envelope I used and with mainly material inside the envelope seemed so limp I questioned the clerk if she thought they would be okay. So I need to know if they arrived okay or if I need to change my posting methods.

I hope everyone likes what I did with their material I had a lot of fun! I am hoping to work on the rest of the blocks and have them finished by the end of next week, I want to finish them before I work on my few Christmas projects.

Joanelizbay--I have not received a F8 from girlscouts1 either. It is also the only one I have not received.

Just a quick update as of today. I have received a completed block this week from OK Darla and it will fit in perfectly with my other blocks. And it's funny that I am working on hers right now!

I also sent out 3 blocks on November 18 to PaintmeJudy, Oatw, and Abby's Mom. About 5 more heading out by this weekend but will post them once actually mailed.

I'm sorry to have waited so long, but this is my list of recently received blocks: OK Darla, suestraley, Kris 2011, luv2sew,
marcialee, PaintmeJudy, NanaKathy55, Jennifer22206, and 2 more that I lost names for. I really appreciate them and am looking forward to another (2nd)quilt for myself. Maybe, the cat won't think this one is hers!
I won't be posting any more pictures. I can still sew, but I found out last week that I am partially blind and getting worse. I just don't have the patience right now to figure
out this new system, and this will be my last swap here, due to the fact that I can never tell when someone else has posted something. It has really made this swap seem tedious and unfriendly. I want to know when someone has received something, see it on the screen, and not have to look through an entire album looking for it. I have really enjoyed this swap and others, but I want human contact from this board, and its not working anymore.
I am still working on more blocks, with the help of additional lighting and magnification, so if you haven't received yours yet, I am getting them done! Thanks for listening! Judy

Goldendog55--so sorry to hear about your problem. It makes me sad that you will not be involved with the swaps. I will treasure the blocks I have from you. Take care of yourself.

marcialee - I am sorry to cause you alarm. I have found your F8 after all. I misplaced it, but it is now safe and sound and at the top of the pile. Fabrics and a pattern have already been chosen! If you have already mailed another one, I will gladly make another block. Again, I am sorry for the false alarm.

Goldendog55 - I sure will miss you but I completely understand. I don't find the new board nearly as relaxing as the old one. I am definitely still getting used to things. I do hope that your vision will stabilize and I hope you are able to sew for many years to come.

I just mailed several blocks today and have several more that I just need to photograph before I send them out. :)

Judy Im so sorry to lose you from the swaps! Ive never met you but it seems as if we are friends! I agree about this board not being a friendly as the old one..we seem to have lost several people from the swap and from the general board that use to post interesting, educational stuff. I wish the creators would take another look at what they have done. I worry so much about my eyes. I dont ever want to quit sewing! I will keep you in my prayers!

So sorry for your vision issues. You are completely correct about posting on the site, not in an album. This is my first swap and it was because I had looked at older swaps that I decided to join. I loved scrolling through the pages and checking out all the pictures. Now you have to hunt to find pictures. Of course I'm a fine one to talk since the camera is acting up and I've only posed a few pictures :(

Well, I'm going to think about sticking around. I just discovered something on this board, so I'll know when someone has said something. I discovered it by accident today when I was trying to do something else. If you go to your profile, I think, underneath are some boxes to check. I think it says something about adding a subscription. You can click on the boxes that are for the active swaps you are in. I clicked the 2 Boomerangs I am in. You get a choice of receiving immediate posts or a daily digest, just like on other groups I am in, such as Yahoo. So, now when people on the group are talking, I will know right away! Another piece of good news, a lady is coming over this weekend to help me with my sight and to learn, again, to do things that I like to do. All you have to do is put up with my typing mistakes now! And to think, when I taught quilting, I used to teach some of the students that had sight problems, teaching them what kinds of products to use so that they could keep quilting! Never knew I'd have to use it myself!

I received a really beautiful block today from Wendsy today. My camera is not working properly now so there is no way I can take a picture. Im missing 24 blocks still. The only F8 I hadnt received is girlscouts1 but I think shes sending it per private message. I would like to know about some of the other members also as most of them seem to have stopped posting. I know its probably this new boards fault! :)
