LV2sew - your block is mailing today. This is the final block for Boom 6, all baby F8s received are now with their mommies. Sorry I haven't been able to post pictures of all the lovely blocks I received, but hopefully I will be able to unpack the box with the computer cord next weekend, and will download all I have received and make a posting. (At least the contractor feels he will be done on Friday and I will have them out of my life! But we all know how that can go!)

Havent received any more blocks but I did put together the blocks that I received in Boomerang 5. I posted a couple of pictures on my llink below if you were in that group and want to see what a beautiful quilt you ALL helped me make. My 86 year old cousin will LOVE it.

I'm finally getting around to trying to post the pics of the blocks I received since my last pic posting-still shakey on the new system-I'm giving it a try. poor keyboard...you must have overworked it with your speedy fingers

I've gotten a few blocks - still can't stay on long to figure out how to post them. the board still hurts my eyes if I'm on it more than 10 minutes.

Good Evening everybody! First the good new: tomorrow is the day I go to the post office. I will be mailing every, single, solitary F8 in my possession! I believe I counted 70, plus a Nov Swap block for Roe and a surprise for Lori P.

Now for the bad news: For some ungodly reason I changed my packaging system to something I thought would go faster! And for that I THINK some of you may get a block that was not squared up. I am not sure how many...maybe 9 or 10! I am so sorry....I do apologize!

I haven't gotten a squishy in the mail for 2 weeks...:(. Love getting them blocks. I don't like this new board very much. I use to get an email everytime someone posted and now i don't. Sure do miss those pictures. I will post as soon as i figure it out. I am sending out 3 more grown up blocks monday. I am almost done and that makes me sad. So much fun!!!

one more item to finis*. will work full speed on boom after t'gi*ing. still missing some letters, sorry! girls*out1, still need f8. no rus*, just saying! 8-) speedy fingers are really slow! keys probably dead from boredom! try not to use dead letters. try it, not easy! lol (still an laug*), nope! lol!!

Nanci how funny with the missing keys! You need a new keyboard! LOL. I agree with the comment about missing the number of posts the old site use to have and the pictures. There are a LOT of blocks I havent received (NO RUSH) but havent heard from swappers in awhile. I know newer is usually good but not in this case!! Miss the conversations between members!!

nancia, if you have an old keyboard sometimes the keys can be replaced instead of paying for a whole new keyboard. helps if you know a "puter geek" lol.

i wis* it was so simple ! it's a laptop! grrrrr

nancia, does your lap top have one of those usb ports, if so can you get a keyboard that has one of those usb connectors...?

Today I'm working on my last F8, and I'm only showing 28 pictures in my album but I could of sent some blocks back and forgot to take a picture, so I hope I gotten everyone....since the board change things have gotten quite on all the post! And I so miss looking at everyone work...

Nanci, Have you tried a can of air and hold the laptop on it's side or upside and give it a good spray of
air. It's amazing the crap that can get under the keys.

you can replace a keyboard on a laptop. go to how to.com and they have a video on how to do it. I replaced mine myself.

Here is something coincidental: Delta Dawn's real name is the same as my husband's granddaughter who use to live in Utah! Yes I sent her a note! lol

Am I the only one thats thinking everyone has run off the board? I use to love to get on here and see what the chatter was, see pictures people were posting, connect with friends but now its like no one is on anymore. :( Have only received 8 finished grown up blocks so far and dont see many posts from people that have received any either. I MISS YOU GUYS :)

On dec 2-4, my sisters & i are having a sew in....I plan on working on blocks during this time.....please be patient with me.... got 70 total to do, so not sure how many will be done, but I should be able to make a dent in that #

I know what you mean...I'm slowly getting mine out--a couple a week it seems like.

This time of the year is so hectic maybe that is one of the reasons there's less chatter.

I really liked seeing all the other blocks ... it helped give me ideas too so they'd blend better if I was stuck on a design. From glancing at the other threads for this boom, I don't see much more action there either so it's not just "us".

My sister thinks "sewing" is a bad word to be done only when absolutely necessary...you are so lucky to have some one to sew with. I'm sure you'll get a bunch done but mostly have a great time with them.

I got one of my f8's back unused :eek: ...hopefully I didn't confuse others with my note.

I asked to try and use the colors in the f8 and not use clashing patterns. I was thinking that would leave the whole palette of creams, light tans, browns, light greens, olively greens, light blues, light yellows and whites....I just didn't want another "pattern/stripes" to clash with it as I was wanting a more subdued looking top.

I'm sorry if this seemed too limiting -- that isn't what was meant.

If you have any concerns, please let me know. I'm sure I'll be thrilled with any block you make and send to me.

I know I didn't see someone's note until after I had already cut the fabrics and made the block...the note had been stuck to the flap of the envelope and it didn't come out until I went to gather all the "finished" stuff from my baggie so I know I didn't "follow" their request and for that I'm sorry, but it did turn out cool (hope they think so too :) )

Sorry I have not been on in awhile, I have been so busy. We are moving on November 28th, I have our mail forwarded to the new address for a year so hopefully nothing gets lost.

You might wish to send your new address to April and she can email it to everyone that hasn't sent your block so you don't have to have your blocks forwarded around...just a thought.
