Or i don't have the right fabric to go with them. But I have ideas for all but 1 fabric.. Now I also have a horrendous math class kicking my butt right now. In the last year of school I've gotten 7 A's and 1 B+ and it's really giving me panic attacks that my math class is currently sitting at 78%.. AACCCCKKK No where near an A.. granted it's a 15 week class but holy cripes. It drives me nuts not to have perfection. I feel like they threw us to the wolves. They were like.. oh here's 2 remedial math classes.. sweet.. I get this.. got A's... first week of this actual College Algebra class and BAM. Here's supposed to be a review chapter.. review.. yea right.. I had never heard of any of this stuff. Woulda been nice to be prepared. The textbooks are worthless, and I made the mistake of taking this one online so I don't even get teacher interaction. so it's eating a lot of my time to try to figure this math out. But I'm getting there. I need to pick it up though because I have a lot of other things I need to create for swaps in the next couple months.

Right on this is not a race. Last race I was in I was given an escort in. Dead Last. Me and security detail has a wonderful talk as I finished the race. But I did finish! I love this swap but I have other projects at the same time that need my attention and I work full time. But I do not think everyone thinks that they will get their blocks in the first month, just along we get a few along the way makes it fun.

I also at one point did school at night. Online classes are far more harder to get without that interaction and never getting to know how they grade. Good luck on that, Anastasia. Got to go to work now, Phannie

Wow, you gals don't go by the deadline of 4 months.... I have so much going on that I will not get them all out as fast as the rest of you. It is one at a time, but they will all get done. Ctmhjenn

The other day somone posted a thread on the board about not being able to sleep because she had fabrics and patterns running through her head. I have that problem sometimes too ... sometimes it's just mindless "brain can't stop" seeing of patterns that are not constructive in any way and just prevent me from sleeping, but other times I have an epiphony. Last night was one of them.

Saturday I started working on one of your blocks (won't say which), struggled all day with the color combination, and finally came up with what I thought would work and finished the block Saturday night. Sunday morning I was about to fold it to prepare for mailing and I looked at it again and I just plain did not like the color choices I made. It was too washed out, not enough contrast ... blah. So again I dug around in my stash and went back to the first fabric I had originall chosen (and rejected), tore the block apart and re-made it with the different fabric. It was still kind of blah looking, lacking *something*. Not being 100% comfortable with it I left it sitting on my cutting table instead of getting it ready to mail.

Laying in bed last night I had an epiphony!!

Pretty excite, going to go home tonight and cut it out and audition my idea and see if that finally does what I want it to do!!!

Don't you love those semi-conscious almost got to sleep but had an "aha!" moment?!?!?

Just sometimes doghousemom, 'cause then it usually hits me at 3 a.m. , sleep no way, yup downstairs and the sewing machine is going. Hubby gets up and says "what the ???? time did you get up? just shakes his head and walks away because there's usually a smile on his face. And there is no rush, it's just me. Inbred deep from my mother I think, you know that saying don't put off...... and I figure I can't remember as good as I once could, so I'd either miss the deadline or forget where I put all the envelopes. See you younger ones can remember.
Anastasia you're going to do just fine, I can tell!!! You're a worry wort too, don't you just hate it sometimes?

I have enjoyed just completing one block at a time. So much easier than a large project. And so satisfiying to be able to complete a project or two in a day! Take your time and enjoy the journey!

Yea I'm a perfectionist worry wort.. drives me nuts.. keeps me up at night.. as do "wonder what that would look like"... Well I should say it keeps me up when I want to SLEEEP.. I don't usually go to bed til on average, about 4-6am. I get some of my best sewing done between 1-4am. Last night that was when I cut out the pieces for a table runner for my october secret pal.. or maybe november. Keep forgetting november exists. hehe. and I made a leaf coaster. I was going to get up and cut out immemother's pieces but the kitties took over the cutting board and since they like to race around at 5am, I figured if they just went to sleep at 4am I would leave them alone so I could sleep so I did.

I have AhA moments, I also keep a graph paper notebook around and draw out block ideas, either ones I see and want to do without buying the pattern (if I can discern it from the picture), or just something that pops in my head. Spent yesterday getting amazing tips from Sharon Schambers videos. Feeling much more confident about finishing 2 of these blocks but have to go out and about today so they'll have to wait for late night sewing.
