Hello all,

I mail my packages out by next friday. I've been sick and moving extremely slow here.

FYI, I am going to be slow mailing your blocks out. But I will get them to you before the deadline. I am going to be out of town the month of February and returning March 1st. I will work on them then. Thank you for understanding!

Happy sewing!
Liz

I finished the first block today. It's the only fabric I've recieved so far. Hope she likes it. It goes in the mail on Monday.

JudyG 01-08-2011 10:42 AM

That's an awesome block, maine ladybug. What is the block name? I can see wanting to play with that one.

I found it on quilters cache, it's called rolling star. She indicated that she wanted stars and I wanted to do one that was a little different. I really like it, hope she does too!

LovingIzabella 01-08-2011 10:54 AM

Went to the mail box and it was full of squishes. I received from Twospoiled Huskies, Oatw13 and moonrise. Great pieces to work with  Now I have more blocks to work before I mail out my F8s-I'm still hoping to beable to seen back finished blocks with my F8s-I'll probably be mailing out Wed or Thurs, depending on weather :)

LovingIzabella 01-08-2011 10:56 AM

PS Just a gentle reminder although we love to see pictures (and I know we do) Please do not post them before the recipient gets them in the mail-we all love the surprise of our blocks when they come home :-)

Oh, why does my mail have to come so late??? I'm reading about everyone getting squishies and my mail won't come for another 3 hours. I'll be doing the dance by then.

If she doesn't like it send it to me. You are going to make me look bad. That block is gorgous.

ksea 01-08-2011 11:10 AM

Hi all, my poor little mailbox was just bursting with squishies today. I told DH we might have to move out of this apartment and into a house so I can have a bigger mailbox!!

Squishies were from fryguymoore, janecat, moonrise, obsessed, pattis47, pokerdiva.

moonrise and janecat does it matter which fabric goes to which swap (buddies or besties)?

Beautiful fabric ladies!!

pattis47 01-08-2011 11:10 AM

It is nice to know the final destination of the block. That sounds like a wonderful group, I'm sure the children will love the quilt. I will send your block monday morning.

I went to the post office this morning and bought all the stamps to send out the completed blocks.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, When I got back home my letter carrier was about 3 hours early delivering my mail, even in our snow. I received an envelope from DonnaDrum with a beautiful floral print inside, then I opened an envelope from vivnme c/o fryguymoore that contained the most wonderful rose/mauve batik, next in line was the electric bill (skipped opening that one) and went right to the last fabric envelope from twospoiledhuskies that contained a beautiful blue with petite floral vine pattern.

I want to finish these 4 blocks this weekend and mail monday morning.

I am also in the Oriental Block Swap and have been working on those for a week now... It won't be long before I send Deb my package.....she is sew much fun to work with.

Obsessed - I can't believe you got so many at once! You had a fun mail day today!

None for me today.... I guess I will work on my blocks for the Blocks from the Orient swap. Is anyone else doing that one?

bookworm 01-08-2011 11:12 AM

It's snowing like a mad thing right now, and I couldn't get the rest of my F8's out today. Hopefully Monday is better for me. :)

If you got the same fabrics I did from them, I think they were in each others stashs, they seem to go together????/

Yep! I think they were!

Jennifer22206 01-08-2011 12:16 PM

Was I the only person who sent a little letter out with the F8s'?

And am I correct in assuming that I can make whatever kind of block I want in any pattern if I didn't receive general directions/instructions/wants from people who sent a F8?

pattis47 01-08-2011 12:25 PM

that is the way I understood the swap guidelines.......no note with preferences, you have carte blanche to do whatever

***** Just sew you know , the blocks you send back to me will be sewn into quilts for our American Soldiers in Afghanistan, . I am told it is very cold over there at night this time of year. If anyone has extra 12 1/12" blocks that they want to donate, just include them in the envelope. Please sign your blocks with your name and state if you donate so the soldiers will know where the blocks have traveled from. Thanks for your help

Carsey 01-08-2011 12:59 PM

That's really nice! I might have some orphan blocks, does color matter for them?

Do you want me to see how many blocks I can get out of your F8?

I sent out notes too just because I sent out a little out of the box on this swap (plus Izabella wrote her own note for her orange fabric).

If there is no note than it should be open book for you :-)
