Anything you want to do will be sincerely appreciated. Color and pattern are your choice. I think they will appreciate anything that will help keep them warm.

That's really nice! I might have some orphan blocks, does color matter for them?

Do you want me to see how many blocks I can get out of your F8?

maine ladybug 01-08-2011 02:20 PM

I got two more in the mail today. Can't wait to start on them, but have to go out of town to visit the in-laws so they will have to wait. Darn it!

pattis47 01-08-2011 02:24 PM

didn't want to take the chance I wouldn't have enough money to shop for possible needed fabric and pay the bill, if I don't know how much it is, I will worry about it next week.....things need priorities.....lol

And am I correct in assuming that I can make whatever kind of block I want in any pattern if I didn't receive general directions/instructions/wants from people who sent a F8?

I sent out notes too just because I sent out a little out of the box on this swap (plus Izabella wrote her own note for her orange fabric).

If there is no note than it should be open book for you :-)

April

PS Pattis I love it you didn't open the bill....I did not open the F8s yet because I have to get my design wall up in the new sewing room! I love your plan for your blocks as well.
PPS VivnMe is fryguy's mom I believe :-)

quiltlin 01-08-2011 02:31 PM

Received fabrics from...Donna D,Laurie G,JaneCat, fryguymoore and oatw13. Can't wait to really study them and decide what to do with them.

All of mine went out in the mail today.

pattis47 01-08-2011 02:33 PM

Isn't it great to just sit and look, touch, feel the fabric and how amazingly it lets you know just what you need to do?

YES! I am fryguymoore. My Mom is vivnme. We are spliting this swap. Mom isn't very chatty, she is much to busy being retired :)

Obsessed 01-08-2011 03:13 PM

Received an F8 from JaneCat today! Oatw13's froggies are all grown up and ready to hop hop hop home on Monday! I hope she likes it. I'm a little nervous - this is the first block I've ever swapped!

fryguymoore 01-08-2011 03:18 PM

Buddy'mom - Sorry to hear you have tennis elbow. Mom and I both have the same thing. The pain in my elbow is the reason I split this swap with Mom.

MaineLadyBug - I am delighted you posted by block before the gentle reminder from April : ) I was admiring the block, wondering if I should ask for one like it when I realized it was MY block :) :) :) I love it!!!!!!

I received squishes from:
Main LadyBug
DonnaDrum
Oat13
TwoSpoiled Huskies
PokerDiva
Obsessed

I am so happy I got the sparkly maroon one. These fabrics are all so pretty. It will be hard to share with my Mom.

I didn't send a note this time with my F8's. Have fun with them! Go ahead and try something new. I don't mind a bit. I am just happy that you would take the time to swap with me. :)

I received F8's from donnadrum, obsessed, and pattis! Yay!

I can't wait to see my first block coming home already!

Glad you like the fabric I sent too. Can't wait to see what you do with it.

As long as everyone else doesn't mind, I would love it if you posted a picture of the blocks you complete w/the fabric I mailed. If any of you know me, you know I am impatient. Just show me the money....I mean BLOCK....post away, it takes toooooo long for the letter carrier to get it to me....please dont make me wait, p.s. I just love sharing your work with everyone else.

Happy Dance, Happy Dance, Happy Dance, Happy Dance -
One for each squishy I found in my mail box. They were from:
moonrise
Sewwhat85
JaneCat and (these didn't give their board name)
Emile and Ann

Since this is my first time, I did not know how they would be packaged. I was surprised to find them in a simple #10 envelope then wrapped in plastic.
I was going to reinforce mine considerably more, but if that way is satisfactory, then I will be fine with me.
I'd like some feedback from all of you.

I anxiously await my fabric...........Due on Monday. I will be gone all day until 4:30, but plan to stay up till the fabric is washed, ironed , cut and packaged, so it is ready for mailing Tuesday morning.
That USPS better not let us down!

pattis47 01-08-2011 04:48 PM

please hurry and stuff the envelopes, you know us early birds just can't stand to wait..........fabric, need more fabric !

LOL you are too funny!! One can never have enough fabric-even if it isn't ours :-)

There is no rule against posting pictures if they are requested by the recipient-so for anyone who wants to see their block before they get it that is fine :-)

Mine will be out Monday as well.

Hugs
April

pattis47 01-08-2011 04:57 PM

You are absolutely correct about fabric, however, if I plan right, I might have a little 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" sq left over after I complete the block to add to my postage stamp quilt so I will always remember this swap!

Here is Mom's (vivnme) lastest quilt. It is stunning...

http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-88703-1.htm

Sweetness 01-08-2011 07:19 PM

And the best thing about today? Coming home from working the 2nd job and realizing there was nothing in my mail except for bestie fabric :)

I was hoping to get mine to the PO tomorrow but it looks like I might have to go in again. Can't complain, extra $ never hurts, just means I won't get mine out until Monday.

Today's mail contained my first incoming which were:
-twospoiled huskies
-fryguymoore
-oatw13
-donnadrum

Lovely choices ladies...can't wait to play with them!

fryguymoore 01-08-2011 07:39 PM

.

<------------------ This is my son and what he made today :)

How is this related to this swap, you ask? Well......because he did this I got nothing done :)

moonrise 01-08-2011 07:48 PM

I got 4 squishies today!

Patti S.
fryguymoore/vivnme
twospoiledhuskies
oatw13

It'll be at least Monday before I can start on them (DH is off this weekend and I can't seem to get any sewing done while he's here! LOL!), but I can't wait to dig in!

I'd like some feedback from all of you....

Boomerang 3.0 was my first Boomerang swap, and I thought the same thing ... that I really needed to package the fabric extra super duper well. So I bought some heavy duty gallon freezer bags, cut off the zippers, and taped the poor little F8's with 2" packing tape within an inch of their life. They all made it just fine, but after seeing everyone else's and the great condition in which they arrived, I saw that all the tape and heavy plastic weren't really necessary.

So this time I just used cheap zipperless baggies (cut in half) and went easy on the tape.

My mailbox held more squishies today! From:
Fryguymoore
Oatw13
Poker Diva
Nice fabs! This is going to be a fun swap...my brain is swimming already!

Qbee 01-08-2011 08:35 PM

Woo-hoo!! I got 6 squishies today!! I'm in both groups so I can tell already that this is going to requires some organization. I do have one that gave no screen name so could everyone please look and let me know if it is yours and tell me your screen name.
It is: Donna from MO

pattis47 01-08-2011 09:15 PM

Could it be DonnaDrum <- screen name

moonrise and janecat does it matter which fabric goes to which swap (buddies or besties)?

Beautiful fabric ladies!!

Oops, I just saw this!

No, it doesn't matter to me which swap each fabric goes with. I've got 3 groups of F8's that I sent out randomly to both the Besties and the Buddies. :)
