This is my first Boom swap and it has been great fun. Since I know you are home, I will send your block this week. I have had it done for a while but didn't want to send while you were in the hospital recuperating. Continued prayers for your improving health.

This weekend I will be at the hospital with mom. She has surgery tomorrow on her neck. Will get the remainder one finished when I get home from the hospital and they will be mailed by the 10th. Sorry for getting behind, between work, her doctor appointments.....life has gotten in the way.

Thought I'd show all of you what I have decided to do with the little scraps of fabric left over from your blocks. I have them from the last 3 booms, so will be making a few of these. Haven't decided on the inner circle yet, just been putting the dresdans together. Your little pieces are being used and will be a nice memory.[ATTACH=CONFIG]444439[/ATTACH]

Jaba - I love it! I thought about using my scraps of everyone's fabric this way too. I only have enough for a small pillow cover or table topper since this is my first boom.

Old Rosebud usually I don't even do little scraps, I always sell them. Had put them in a drawer and forgot about it and found them in envelopes and all. 3 years and 9 groups. This is a small portion, but I think it will make a couple or 3 really nice scrappy quilts. Something to sew on.

WOW!! That is exactly what I have been doing with Boom scraps..since Boom #3..I have a little bit of every one of these swaps..I keep them in a separate bin from my other scraps...just for these dresdens! Great quilting minds think alike!

Would love to see the quilts you've made from them.

I know I am now past the mailing date, I still have a few more to make and mail out. I will be working on them this weekend. To be able to mail on Monday. I have 4 blocks ready to be mailed, just have to get them in envelopes and addressed.

Mom's had her surgery on the 1st, we spent 3 days in the hospital, and with taking care of her didn't have time to work on anything. Even had a hard time finding the time to clean my apartment in between her needs. Went back to work today.

I will let you know when your blocks are in the mail.

The NEXT Boom
 

As many of you know, our fearless Boomerang Friendship Swap leader April is stepping back from swaps for the foreseeable future. We’ve been in contact over the last several weeks culminating in a phone call and final decision yesterday. April isn’t leaving the board, (you can see she’s still here finishing up Boom 10!) she’s simply stepping back for now and she’s turned the Boom reins over to me. I’m going to lead Boom 11 in her stead and I hope to do her hard work justice. Boom 10 folks, I want to let you know that I’m not hijacking her program, just running it in her place, with her permission, and that of the Board. I participated in Boom 10 in the Maia group and had a great experience. I knew instantly following April’s announcement here that it would be a shame to let the Booms die. It wasn’t going to happen, not if I could help, so I approached her and here we are.
April’s been at this for about 4 years and has her system down to a science. I see no need for changes so we’re not going to mess with it. Sign-ups will begin sometime late next week; please be on the lookout for the post. We’ll have Fast and Slow groups, running 2 months and 4 months respectively. Also, although the last couple of swaps have been only Small groups of 16 or so, I’ll open it up to the option of Large groups as well if there is enough interest. All skill levels are welcome. Sign-ups will run about 3 weeks or so, depending upon interest. (If you have concerns about starting a Boom at this time of year, you might want to consider doing a Slow group to allow yourself plenty of time.) It will take me several days to make sure I’ve got everything in order and then I’ll post the groups and off we’ll go.
I do plan to be very active and on top of the day to day goings on. If you have any questions, I’ll often be able to answer them the same day but please allow me 48 hours, especially over the weekends. I want to assure everyone that I’ll do the best I can to make Boom 11 run as seamlessly as possible and to be enjoyable for all.
It’s time to start thinking about your fabric choices, as if many of you haven’t for weeks! Be looking for the sign-up post toward the end of next week. As usual, the details will be in there. Thanks everyone!

I just rec'd a lovely block from Pink Lady. That makes all my blocks except for a couple who have already advised of their issues. No hurry ladies.

It has been fun swapping. I will be sitting out Boom 11 (but i will still peek in to see the beautiful blocks) as there is a move in my near future :(, but plan to be back for Boom 12.

I went to the post office today on my lunch, and on the receipt is says you should have them on Friday 11/29, only one may have it on Wednesday 11/27....down in Waco.

Keep an eye out for them.

Tonight I pulled the fabric I want to use for the remainders to be made. In between doing some prep work for Thursday....turkey day I am hoping to have all done this weekend.

Pink Lady your block arrived yesterday......thank you so much, it is just gorgeous.....the amount of work you put into it, is unbelieveable....so pretty......very much appreciated.

As soon as I can get out to the post office I will be mailing out to Gaijin, Quiltaddiction and Pink Lady. The roads are too icey and my vehicle needs a new battery. I am hoping to be able to get them in the mail on Tuesday.
