Just a note please when you send mail to me put the space # 9 on. My mail lady is such a pain! She sends it back if it does not have the number! I try really hard to get people to use it all the time but some companies forget! I am in a Moda club where every month I get 2.5 inch squares of fabric and I just now got them to where they put it on all the time. After having it sent back TWICE!

I finished my block for myself today! ...Yeah I got my first finished block... hehe that was fun to say! It is called Goose Creek and a real cute easy block. I got the pattern from Quilters Cache.

While I was at Dr with mom I set up return envelopes for finished blocks to go home in. I am going to use a bigger manila envelope, if they are really flat the cost is the same anyway!

Annaquilts 07-10-2013 10:25 PM

So take off the Pl. right?

Talk about efficient Mary! You have your return envelopes done.. what a great idea. I will do mine also and this way they are ready to go that will speed things up a bunch. ok like a few seconds but its a good idea. I have so much idle time that I should be keeping my hands busier. I am looking forward to my first fabrics coming in. Its so nice to get fun mail not just the dreaded.. bills.

Elisabrat 07-11-2013 04:25 AM

Well Morning everyone! I hope your fingers are working on your mailings so we can get this party started in grand fashion. Anyone want to be most of us will be done with our blocks in less than the deadline time frame? I know one person who will have hers done as fast as you can send it to her. So plan on quilting these puppies easily for a holiday gift :) the rest of the slow pokes can have Valentines presents if they are lucky! Its going to be a nice toasty day in Cody today think its supposed to hit 92 praying they are wrong but like that will help :(

Janice McC 07-11-2013 04:32 AM

Annaquilts, I just added the Court to the end and left the Pl in place. Hope it gets there.

That is right. The correct way is Pl. Ct. Sorry to be so much trouble!
Phyllis

Annaquilts 07-11-2013 05:56 AM

Oops! I think I still have the envelop here so maybe I can add it or write it above it.

I mailed 95% of both groups yesterday, and would you believe God is so good, he made sure that Sunrise's envelope stayed behind with the few that I need to fill with fabric . I am so blessed. After the nasty day I had yesterday, needed to see some blessing out of it. Glad I checked in this am so I get it right today. I still have three more I need to fill with the fabric. sending off to Jaba and Anna today your two pieces. Doing the pieces, there is more fabric than needed so you will have some extra to keep around for yourselves. Thanks. that about does the pieces, As soon as I get that quilt done, will have some good chunks to mail off.

My Block I received today, well really yesterday, from myself!

Boy am I fast! Good thing I am in the fast group!:D The block is called Goose Creek, it is really made to be scrappy, but I just modified and it works for me. I tried to fussy cut the butterflies but gave up for the most part! Too many butterflies and being on point just about made me crazy!

Hopefully this will give you an idea of what colors I want used with my block. Even if you got the lavender one please try and use green blue and bright pink like in the fabric.

Thanks~

btw, I did not get the correction on the pl. ct. I hope you get it anyway!

QuilterMomma 07-11-2013 12:10 PM

Question also ladies. I know you have sent out the pretty cottons, but like on marytoddliz, I have green blue and pinks in my batiks, but not much in the prints type fabric or tone on tones. You are not going to mind if I mix the two and make them together are you?

Mix away......I have no problems with the mixture.

marytoddliz 07-11-2013 03:50 PM

Beth, go ahead and mix, I am often mixing batiks with no batiks. I don't see the problem unless it is a batik that might run if not pre-washed. But Batik is 100% cotton so shrinkage should be the same!

I was so disappointed with my empty mail box! I am ready to sew, like NOW.. hehehe... I know I have about a hundred projects that I could work on but I think I might just go start a new project!

my trip to California has been cancelled. I am not going this month. maybe later in the fall!

Janice McC 07-11-2013 04:02 PM

I've got a black and white print so batiks would actually work well. Go for it, be creative!

I have been crazy at work, haven't had time to address the envelopes when I get home from work in the evenings. Work 12 hours 4 days a week keeps me busy and I am on the phone all day, need to bring them to work with me tomorrow and address between talking on the phone with my oxygen patients. I will have them mailed out this weekend, Monday at the latest.

jaba 07-11-2013 04:37 PM

Got my 1st envelope today from Brat! She got hers too!:D

joanelizbay 07-11-2013 04:46 PM

Did you walk them over to each other?? LOL

Elisabrat 07-11-2013 04:46 PM

wow that is a change up but hey maybe you can rest a bit at home mb? I sure hope so. I also received my first f8th from Jaba. Ok I admit it I went over to watch her at work in the quilt room. It was a sweet break from home and hubby. one day I fantasize he will be working hours and hours away from home. Then I can miss him again a bit.

Annaquilts 07-11-2013 05:08 PM

OK the second set did not get out. Setting up and having a baby shower at the house that had to be moved indoors on the last moment so some big time cleaning today. Promise to work on it again tomorrow.

QuilterMomma 07-11-2013 05:44 PM

You enjoy that grand baby, we will live a couple days without.

catgirl807 07-11-2013 07:03 PM

As fabric should soon start coming in, I wanted to re-post the Pinterest board I made with 12 inch quilt blocks from Quilter's Cache. It's so much easier to browse their blocks when you can see the pictures! http://pinterest.com/themilocat/12-inch-quilt-blocks/

tubsfam 07-11-2013 07:18 PM

Ann,

I think I could handle one more if you want to send.

Marie (tubsfam)

marytoddliz 07-11-2013 08:12 PM

Oh, thank you so much, I love the visual, to be able to scroll through all the blocks and pick one!

yeah that was a real nice thing you did and sharing it with all of us is very sweet of you. Thanks! I am going to make Jaba's block today and well hand deliver it tomorrow or is it Sunday at dinner. Mexican or Chinese? hum.... both sound grand to me.

Thanks so much! I go to the quilters cache often but it takes so much time to look at all the blocks that I am interested it.
My envelopes are all stuffed and ready to be stamped and sent on their way. I went to Walmart and got the social envelopes. I won't be using them to mail out but they will be perfect for returning your blocks. I got mine in different colors also. I can now call my mail "happy mail"
Have a great day!

QuilterMomma 07-12-2013 08:30 AM

Happy snail trail mail. That sounds fun.

LovingIzabella 07-12-2013 08:39 AM

Hello all!
I will be leaving for Canada early tomorrow morning for a work conference and be returning late on Thursday. I am not sure how often I will be able to check in as it is a super busy one with events all day and dinners too. It is the World Credit Union Council conference and The Global Women's Leadership Network as well.
So I hope you all have fun, behave and try not to miss me too much LOLOL You can always send me a PM or email and I will answer as soon as I can.
Hugs
April

jaba 07-12-2013 08:52 AM

Have a good trip April, travel safe!

sunrise450 07-12-2013 09:56 AM

At last! My envelopes are in the mail! Everything went fine, even the one to Australia, this the first time I have a swap overseas. Only cost 1.10 and all the others, .66 each.
I am going to take the rest of the day off. It's our 44th anniversary and Hubby is taking me to a steakhouse for dinner. Perssonaly I would rather stay in with a cowboy pizza and watch the Cardinals on tv. I am so ungrateful.

marytoddliz 07-12-2013 11:35 AM

I got TWO squishies in the mail today! I am going to be sewing! I got one from QuilterMamma, and one from Janice McC. I will post pictures when I finish. I love the fabric and I have perfect mates to go with both! (I collect B&W and have a lot of brights to go with)

joanelizbay 07-12-2013 01:35 PM

Got my lst squishie today from catgirl. I laughed when I saw the Mizzou fabric...that's the same fabric I have when I make anything for Missouri sports! I love black and gold!!

catgirl807 07-12-2013 02:17 PM

Yeah! M-I-Z! I made my sister a Mizzou quilt, and then decided I wanted one for myself!

Your envelops came in.
DS picked up 1 cent stamps so I should be able to send out the rest soon.
I hope the few I had with 65 cent stamps will get there without trouble. Sorry I did not realize it had gone up a penny.
The shower for the baby was a success.

Libster 07-12-2013 03:32 PM

I got a squishie today from Janice McC. Love that blk/wht fabric. This is gonna' be fun!

mollymunchkin 07-12-2013 04:48 PM
