Quilter momma thanks for posting pictures of the spring swap blocks. That is one gorgeous quilt! I did the Christmas and snow flake Dresden blocks but have not had time to make them into a top yet.

I meant to post a pic of a block from the first set earlier, but forgot...here it is. I'll post a pic of the other 2 sets when I get those finished.
|
Oh NC I love it. Can't wait to see your others.
|
Wouldn't you know it, I am down to the last set, sewing together, thought they were all trimmed and one set is not so I cant sew it together. I may not send the third set. I have two 100%. Not sure when my hand will let me use the ruler and rotary cutter to cut. How many are doing 30s fabrics? That is what this set is.

Anna, I'm doing two sets and both have 30's prints. I hope you can finish yours. You have loads of time still!!! Don't stress.
|
I was going to do 30s but found different fabric instead , but not sure if I have enough of it to make the blocks - still have to get the fabric washed
|
I am also doing 30s.

Thanks Sheri. I really want to do it. the wedding is June 2. I started the quilting. It is just big and a lot. I will have time in June but I think the death line to sign up is June 1. I have not done a test block yet.
I love Pat's swaps and did several. Here is a picture of the last one the churn Dash.

Oh my those spring churn dash blocks turned out so pretty. I could nto get in on that one, just did not have time or the fabric. They look like it was a good swap. Nice color choices there. I like your rug as well Annaquilts. |
Some of you are starting to stress out about this fabric choice....think summer.....WIDE variety of fabric designs can be used. On the other hand, if you sign up, I do expect you to fulfill your commitment. However, if you don't sign up, and at the last minute decide you have the time, just quietly pm me, do them and send them. I would rather have a couple surprise senders than a couple of drop outers.

Ok I am home from Australia now and have to spend the next day cleaning up the sewing area. Who would think that so much dust could gather on all that sewing table while I was gone. LOL. But once it is done I am so in on this. I think what I will do is wash my material tomorrow while I clean the sewing area. Sounds like a plan to me. I love this design and I can't wait to make some.

Here is mine. I hope you all like it. I am only doing one set. I will be sending it tomorrow. Barb |
@Barb: back in town 1 day and mailing tomorrow? And didnt think you would have time? Geeze I feel like a slacker! Nice blocks and welcome back. :)
|
Oh Barb, that's so so pretty. I'm getting excited to see all the different MerryGoRounds together. (hope I get at least one of each. That's one reason I'm doing two sets. The other is....I fell in love with the fabrics and they made me buy them!... Sneezy fabric!)
Now Fraew... If there's a slacker anywhere I know it's NOT you...(cough...cough) ...looking at your avitar...(cough) :D Oh ya...and everyone read post 70. I'm trying to beg, buy, trade or somehow courherce your scrap strip you get when you cut your two pins from the 7"-ish square. :D deb will mail them to me if you send them with your finished blocks. I'll pay extra postage. I think they'll work nicely as sashing between these blocks. :D |
Yes, yes, yes.......if you send me your unwanted strips, I WILL send them to Sheri.

OK, I've decided to join in the party after making sure I could do the blocks "good enough." This will be my first swap and I can only hope my workmanship meets your expectations. :o The blocks shown so far are great and I would love to have them in a quilt. The largest blocks I've worked on so far finished at 8", so these 12-1/2" blocks is a new experience. Deb, I will PM you and get the info so I can mail my blocks.
|
Barb - love your blocks ! Never thought to add an extra fabric that way hhhhhhmmmm has me thinking :) by the way was out on a shop hop this past weekend and got some extra fabric just in case I have more time to make a second set, but first have to get one done .....
|
SWelcome aboard Evie. We love newbies. You are going to do just fine on these. show us a sample when you get one done. Would love to see it.
