December Secret Pal Swap - Singups Close November 30 at midnight - Come join the fun!
 

This is a monthly secret pal swap. There is a sign up every month, and you can
choose whether or not to participate each month. You will get a different partner each month, and the person you send to will may be different than the person you receive from. Failure to send your package after signing up will be cause to be banned from all future swaps. Please do not sign up if you cannot fulfill your obligation. Have fun and be creative!

After receiving your Secret Pal’s details, go to work and put together a package with something you think your pal would like. There is a $15.00 limit on this swap that does not include what you have in your stash. (This does not include shipping) Most swappers do not mind like-new stash items. Please send items you would like to receive. Do not send smelly, holey, thin, or stained fabric. You will need to send me (hav4boys) a PM when mailing and receiving. This way I can keep my records straight. Also send a PM to your SP thanking them. This is an important part of participating. It lets your secret pal know you got their package.

Please take pictures and post in group as everyone likes to see what you get.

Packages need to be mailed out by December 20th, this is a Firm deadline. All International mailings must be mailed by December 10th Firm. If you know that you cannot mail by that date, Please Do Not sign up.

For international mailing it is very important that you mark your parcel as a 'Gift' on the Customs Declaration (there's a box you can check). Also, the value should be $10 only (even if you send diamond necklace). The person receiving the package is liable for Import Duty, Tax and a Handling fee. This can cost the person receiving as much as $40.

Padded envelopes are much cheaper to send compared to small boxes. These can be ordered free of charge from the USPS website.

If your pal does not receive her/his package within a reasonable time I will need tracking information. If there is an exception on the mailing, you will need to inform me ASAP. No one enjoys not getting a package after they have sent one.

Message to the person who got me for SP. I wanted to clarify something. I don’t want a new Yellow Brick Road pattern, I like fabric or other goodies better. If you have a used Yellow Brick Road pattern that would be nice to have. Thanks, DS

Just finished stuffing a box full of goodies for my secret pal! It will be like Christmas when she gets it!! I'm going to mail it out this PM if I get to the post office before they close for the day!

Whew! Stuffed the package and it will be picked up tomorrow and on its way to SP. It should arrive by Wednesday. yay!

Brenda!! Thank you for all these amazing goodies!! I love the kitty fabric! I actually made a scrub top out of this fabric years ago!!! I’m going to have fine with this! :) :) :)

I think it is funny that the exact same fabric came back into your life. Hope you find a fun project for it.

Today I received and opened my SP package. First of all, I enjoyed that items were wrapped. It is a treat to open up a present. I noticed right away that i had a package of peppermint bark. My favorite holiday treat. First I opened an offset spatula which i asked for. Thank you. Thank you so much MizMelly. It was so fun to open everything. I will use the stocking again for my mom because she will be with us this year for Christmas. I plan on sharing the cookies with my DH as dessert after dinner. I want to post the pic but forgot how since the picture icon requires an URL and I can’t seem to cut and past the picture in.

Dec Secret Pal
 

My gift came from Pamela Oryshchyn. Actually she had be for the Secret Santa and the December Secret Pal. She sent a lot of fabric, a pattern, an Accuquilt die and mats, a cute Gooseberry calendar, little notebooks, needles, a log cabin kit from Jordan's Fabric. Two handmade cards that have little pockets that I can reuse if I want to.

I'm attaching both pictures as I put the Gooseberry Calender with my Secret Santa instead of the Dec Secret Pal items.

We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Or simply - Make sure pictures are smaller than 2MB
Click on red "Reply" button
Click on the paper clip icon
Click browse - choose picture/s. (only 5 allowed per post)
Once they show up as being loaded, Scroll over to the right side and click on "Upload"
After the pictures show up as being attached, you can close that window and go back to the screen to finish posting your post.

Hi Guys,

I received another wonderful swap from Deborah. She is always so thoughtful and send such beautiful items - she knows my takes and likes so well. She also sent a lovely toy for my dog Chloe, but she ran off with it before I could photograph it. Deborah sent a Layer Cake and a yard of my favourite fabric, my most wanted item so of Roxanne's Baste it, a beautiful panel, 2 wonderful books and..... my favourite jelly beans. And the toy for Chloe!!!
