DOLL QUILT SWAP for AUGUST 2014

This Month's theme....9 Patch! You choose colors, size, style, and layout. The only requirement your DQ must have at lease one nine-patch within the borders.

To join this month's Doll Quilt Swap.....

Just send me, Quilting Krazy, a PM no later than JULY 31.

Please let me know If you are willing to swap internationally,
we have a few members who are outside the USA.

Please do not mail your doll quilt until BOTH partners are ready to mail.

Help me KEEP TRACK: When you mail off your quilt, please send me a PM with your partner's name. Also send one when you receive a quilt you’re your partner. This will help me keep track and to ensure that everyone receives a quilt.




Partner Assignment: Partners will be assigned on August 1st, so Bookmark this thread for partner assignment –


Mailing Deadline: You must have your quilt in the mail no later than last day of current month swap event--so that would mean August 31, 2014. If you do not think you can meet that deadline, you might want to wait a month or two until your schedule frees up and you don’t feel pressured.


LABEL: Please add a label or sign your quilt on the back with your name and the date. It is a wonderful record of your work and years from now, it will help your partner remember who made this magnificent work of art! If your quilt is reversible and you don’t want to sign it, please include a card or attach a removable tag with your Quilting Board name or real name if different.


MANNERS: Don’t for get to thank your partner. A simple post on the thread for the month is terrific, but a PM is nicer still. Please leave feedback for your partner.


PHOTOS: At the Quilting Board we love photos! A big part of the doll quilt fun is seeing what everyone has created, but as with most things in life, there is a little etiquette to follow. Usually the receiver will post a photo, but not everyone has a camera, so please photograph your quilt before you send it just in case. Don’t post a photo until your partner receives your quilt so the surprise won’t be spoiled. If you cannot post a photo, please ask your partner to do so.


COMMUNICATION: If something unexpected comes up and for any reason you cannot meet the deadline or need to drop out of the swap, please let your partner and me know as soon as you know. If you take the time to communicate any difficulties, I can make sure things work out favorably for you and your partner with no hard feelings as a result. If, however, you just disappear off the face of the earth, you will not be permitted to participate in future swaps until you make good on your commitment.

My apologies for disappearing for months! Our move to Florida took a bit longer than expected but we are in and still remodeling and painting. Ugh! Here is a picture of our house and what my sewing room looks likes right now!

Good to hear from you Lisa. Like you said, you're "in" and you can go from there with everything that needs to be done. A huge undertaking for sure. Thanks for sharing the pics of your house and sewing room. Welcome back!

So happy to hear you're settled! I wondered what happened to the swap -- and to tell the truth, I was tempted to start it up again myself for September, but was hemming and hawing about all the work. So, hats off to you, my friend! We've been in our new home for two months and I'm happy to say that my sewing suite is almost completely unpacked. The main room has been painted and a few doll quilts have been hung!

Glad you're back in the swap Krystyna, you were the one that got me started on these in the 1st place. I thank you again so much, they are so fun to make. ljdugas and I will be mailing this next week, I just have the little label to sew on. Hope you like it Linda, kind of reminds me of that blue floral you had for a boom, but this one is a different color....

Hello LetsQuilt. I'm just checking in. I am almost finished with your little doll quilt. I hope you like my take on your suggested colors. Color is so subjective depending on each person. I still have some hand quilting to finish. PLEASE, do not feel rushed. It just came together quicker then I thought. I'm involved in quite a few things right now. So, just trying to keep everything in perspective.

Jaba, cant wait to see it. I finished and will be sending out wed.

Holy moly Linda, that was fast! :) Will get yours ready to mail tomorrow and get it in the mail also. I have to leave on Thursday for a wedding and will be home Sunday night so if you don't hear from me that's why. Looking forward to my surprise...

Hello Ladies! Glad everyone is off and running. Me... well still trying to figure out where everything is going in my sewing room. I MUST make sure I unpack and find a home for everything BEFORE I start to sew anything or NOTHING else would get done! I am planning on joining in the fun come next months swap

Yes I am so happy that quilt is mine!!! jaba does beautiful work,we have swapped many times in different swaps and I have loved everything she has made me.

I am pretty nervous.... I have Jaba's name for a mini quilt swap... This quilt is so beautiful... can't begin to match....
