ELISABRAT's WINTER FROLIC TABLERUNNER/TABLE MAT SWAP!! SIGN UPS CLOSE OCT 10th

Elisabrat's WINTER FROLIC Tablerunner/Mat Swap!

Elisabrat's Table Mat/Runner Swap

This Swap will close October 10th
Welcome to my swap! This is a Table Mat or Table Runner swap.

A Table Mat would be any shape that would be a centerpiece; this should be a minimum size of 16" across the longest point. For instance, a hexagon table mat that is 16" from one corner to another at its widest point and each of its six sides are 8".
A Table Runner should be a minimum size of 12"x28". Table runners are typically longer than they are wide. Please do not request an excessively long runner from your partner.

How it works:
This swap will be a partnered swap. You will work with your partner to determine colors and sizes that will work with them. THE THEME IS: WINTER FROLIC!

Design and method will be up to the creator but since this is something that will be on a table and likely spilled on, make sure whatever you make is washable on at least a gentle cycle. Good grade cottons only no homespuns or non cotton fabrics in this swap please. You should make something you would put on your own table at home. Take your time, there is no rush to get it out fast. Its better slow but steady and you will be pleased with what you send and your partner will be thrilled to receive it!

Please PM ELISABRAT with the following information by OCT 10th. She will then match up names and get them returned to you by October 11th. You will have until NOVEMBER 20th to mail the finished product. THIS IS A DEADLINE NOT A GUIDELINE Please do not participate if you believe you can not fulfill this time frame commitment. Please do not ask if you have not finished your commitments in prior tablerunner swaps run by Elisabrat.
Board Name:
Real Name:
Phone #: (this will NOT be given to your partner, this is for my use only in the event that a problem should arise)
Do you have any allergies:
Do you have any allergens (cats, dogs, smoker):
Can you ship international:
Do you have the ability to post pictures:

It is encouraged and acceptable to post pictures of fabric choices, progress. I would love some lively conversation so lets keep this a fun forum to chat, bounce ideas off each other, assist each other as needed. There will never be a dumb question so ask if you need help. And above all else.. HAVE FUN! Encourage each other! ONE REQUIREMENT: you must post at least once a week so your partner and I know your alive and still in the game. I will be watching for your posts. Just say hi if you don't want to chat with us but get on the board and post something here please.

Please notify Elisabrat as soon as possible if you feel you cannot complete your obligation. Please don’t sign up if you don’t think you can achieve a finished product in the time allotted.

People who fail to follow-through and do not notify Elisabrat will be banned from any of my future swaps (should there be any) and your name may be given to other swap hosts. Obviously, things happen in life and I will certainly consider that, but you must communicate. I reach out fairly regularly to check on progress so there is no excuse for not telling us if there might be a delay.

So jump on board everyone and join the fun!

Now for the legalese.

****Please make sure to read the general rules that apply to all swaps here at the Quilting Board: ****

I am required to insist that participants send Elisabrat a monthly PM to verify that they are still active in this swap and are working on their promised project.

I am required to insist that participants notify Elisabrat as soon as they have finished their quilt and are ready to mail it.

Once I have received notice that both partners are done and ready to mail, I will send both a PM to let them know it’s time to mail.

I am required to insist that all participants send Elisabrat verification of shipment, to include tracking information.

Participants are required to ensure packages will not arrive “postage due.”

Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipient’s government are the sole responsibility of the recipient.

Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by NOV. 20th shall be deemed “late” and risk receiving Negative [Swap] Feedback.

Please keep in touch with Elisabrat as required. Please let her know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time.

Swappers should treat each other as friends and focus on the fun. So … please be prepared to be flexible, patient and understanding if necessary and appropriate.

jaba 10-02-2013 05:35 AM

Dusty'sMomma you're safe, I'd send you Valentine's and you can send them to me too, or a New Year's tablerunner would be okay too.

Elisabrat 10-02-2013 05:39 AM

so far mostly Christmas, a few winter and one valentine. The variety is growing!

oneteappot 10-02-2013 06:05 AM

Just sent a pm. I loved the fall runner swap. So a winter one would be great! I would be willing to make one for whatever holiday you want! And I would only need a runner 12x 24 as I have a smaller table.

mom-6 10-02-2013 01:43 PM

Sure wish I thought I would have time to make something for this swap! But just don't think I'd be happy with myself taking on another obligation, no matter how much fun it would be.

Ooh, new years. Hmm.....I don't know what I'd do for that. I'd have to think on it. That sounds like a embroidery job. :) I have lots of pretty things for Valentine's day in my embroidery library. I would LOVE to do a Valentines runner for you!!! :) (Now to bribe the host!)

jaba 10-03-2013 04:49 AM

Valentine's is good for me. Don't know if you'll get embroidery, I've got all the stuff and enough thread to choke a horse, but just can't get into it for some reason. I'd rather sew I guess and the fact that my machine is small with only a 4" hoop, so most motifs are small.

Elisabrat 10-03-2013 09:40 AM

ok it was actually 38 when I left the weather man lied! now its 36 so guess he is getting closer to right. slush rain and wind fresh can you say FRESH? lol its lovely. even better from inside the house :)

I didn't mean for you to do embroidery. I meant ME! I have so many happy hearty designs! :)

Lunchtime's over. Back to the grindstone!

skaduzy 10-03-2013 01:44 PM

Just signed up and it can be Christmas, winter, whatever. I will wait and talk to my partner when I get her.

jaba 10-03-2013 03:07 PM

It's winter frolic here in Ralston, WY. Snowing, the ground and trees are white, and the wind is blowing. It's a chilly 32 right now. It's suppose to snow all day tomorrow too, hope not I have to drive 115 miles for my doctor appointments to find out when and if they are going to do surgery on all the discs and sciatic nerve. Hate slick roads.

kiffie2413 10-04-2013 01:53 AM

I envy y'all with the snow.. I miss Fall and Winter! Hopefully this year in my lil neck of the woods we'll get them both back! Have been in such a drought the past 2-3 years. And unusually warm. I am up in the panhandle area of Texas, one reason I love it here is we get (or used to) all 4 seasons of weather. We had a cool front blowing thru earlier, highs supposed to be in low 70's today, hope weatherman's right. Though rainy and cooler, or snow and cold would be much better!

Elisabrat 10-04-2013 04:53 AM

Snow is beautiful if your inside :) right now there is a good 8 to 12 inches in the front it piled up more on the porch and steps looks like we have no steps. Hubby is freaking out. We haven't bought our chains yet. dumb bunnies. he slide out on his way home from work last night right behind another car that slid out. he got back on the road and made it just 1/4 mile farther slid again pulled over said hell with it called a tow truck. cool. got home 1 1/2 hours after he got off, ten minutes from home. Cab company is booked (all one car they have I guess) asked last night. he is talking hitch hiking.. really> walk a mile to the highway and hitch hike? oh great. Praying one of my neighbors goes to work this morning and if they do they will give him a ride. or I have one GRUMPY man on my hands. yikes.

These pics just for you Kiffee. Part of the back yard, the shrubs around my koi pond and this is a big pine tree out my kitchen window. All those branches are so loaded they are laying on the ground. Over a foot of snow and it's a whole 15 degrees. Suppose to snow all day until midnight tonight. No Montana doctor trip for me today

mom-6 10-04-2013 11:06 AM

Wow! Beautiful snow pics!
lAnd we're supposed to be over 90 this afternoon. Then cool front over the weekend dropping overnight low into the 50s and daytime in the 70s. I'm sure we will be back in the 80s by midweek tho.

kiffie2413 10-04-2013 01:11 PM

Oh Jaba!!! I don't know whether to send you a big cyber hug...or tell you now I really am longing for snow... So I will do both! Those pics are breathtaking! Probably takes your breath being out in the cold, too...
I am going to re-look at those pics again...and drink my iced cola with our almost 80 degree high sunny day shining outside my door.
Guess the old saying "Grass is greener" (or snow whiter) really is true ;)
Kif- singing a lil Jingle Bells

kiffie2413 10-04-2013 01:13 PM

Brat,
Sending you some "dh making it to work safely vibes".
Kif

jaba 10-04-2013 03:51 PM

Hubby has just been shoveling all day, it has melted some though. Still very cold. I'm dreaming of your warm weather would be so so nice. I might have a cold cola but I certainly added something to it today.....think while I was sewing I was singing jingle bells rock or at least my version of it:thumbup: Gees, better check those seams tomorrow and see how I did:D

Do you mean jingle bells on the rocks? With a twist of lime?? ;)

Elisabrat 10-04-2013 08:19 PM

While I do not miss the 80's I live right down the road from Jaba and my yard is a ditto on her yard. only diff is we do not have shrubs around the house we just have 3 feet of snow drifts there. warmer today so maybe it will magically be gone tomorrow so I can forestall on that Christmas music a bit longer. I love the holidays and well a good hot toddy sounds pretty good right now. its cold! when I head out tomorrow it should be a balmy low 20 I think at 6 in the morning. oh just yippy yeah! Thanks Skaduzy!

jaba 10-05-2013 06:48 AM

The jingle bells rocked and the splash of lime wasn't bad either! Nice and toasty with the fireplace going, sewed tablerunners all day. Got on a roll I guess, 2 Christmas, 1 fall and have one cut for Valentine's. Need to quilt them and bind but the binding is ready to sew on. I'll be ready for any partner's wants I think. Just have to hide them when the kids are here in a few days. Hope all our snow melts Brat.....not ready for this cold yet.

Likethedog 10-06-2013 02:57 PM

OK, I'm officially signing up. I sent a PM to Elizabrat. I just hope the only snow I see is either in photos on this thread or printed on fabric.

Elisabrat 10-06-2013 03:34 PM

welcome likethedog! everyone she is new just this year to quilting and I think this is best group to get her used to swapping, quilting and well the board! I told her to ask away any questions she might have and we would gladly help her so go ahead give her a bandwagon welcome please! and oh break her in slowly to our lively chats. ok not that slow she seems like she can hang with us just fine :)
