Description:
This is a monthly secret pal swap. There is a sign up every month, and you can choose whether or not to participate each month. You will get a different partner every month, and the person you send to will be different than the person you receive from.




1) YOU NEED TO SEND THE HOSTESS A PRIVATE MESSAGE WHEN YOU MAIL YOUR PACKAGE TO YOUR SECRET PAL.

2)ONCE YOU GET YOUR PACKAGE FROM YOUR SECRET PAL, YOU WILL NEED TO SEND A PRIVATE MESSAGE TO THE PERSON WHO SENT THE PACKAGE TO YOU TO <nobr>ACKNOWLEDGE</nobr> THAT YOU DID RECEIVE IT AND TO THANK THE SENDER.

3) AFTER YOU HAVE THANKED YOUR SECRET PAL, YOU WILL NEED TO SEND ME A PRIVATE MESSAGE TELLING ME THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED YOUR PACKAGE SO THAT I CAN KEEP ACCURATE <nobr>RECORDS</nobr>.

FAILURE TO SEND THESE PRIVATE MESSAGES IS REASON ENOUGH TO BE BANNED FROM THE NEXT MONTH'S​ SWAP.


PACKAGES NEED TO BE SENT OUT BY February 13th,this is a FIRM deadline (NOT A SUGGESTION). IF YOU KNOW THAT YOU CAN NOT MAIL BY THAT DATE, PLEASE DO NOT SIGN UP. You can send your package as early as you'd like!


If you are sending an international package it will need to be mailed by the 8th of February. Due to mail processing, our mail <nobr style="color: rgb(54, 47, 45); line-height: 20px;">dates</nobr> for international mailing has to be as early as possible! No later than the 8th of February. It can take many weeks to reach your SP so any delays in mailing can delay the <nobr style="color: rgb(54, 47, 45); line-height: 20px; background-color: rgb(252, 250, 240);">start</nobr> of the next month’s sign-up sheet being posted.

For international mailing it is very important that you mark your parcel as a 'Gift'. Usually on the Customs Declaration there's a box you can check.

Also, the value should be $10 only (even if you send diamond necklace, lol). I know that each and every time the wonderful generous gifts are far in excess of this amount, but if the true value is listed (and it's over the allowed 'Gift' amount) The person receiving the package is liable for Import Duty, <nobr>Tax</nobr> and a Handling fee. This can cost the person receiving as much as $40

As an aside, <nobr>padded envelopes</nobr> are much cheaper to send compared to small boxes. I'm not sure if that's true for every carrier or not.

There is a 10 dollar budget for this swap. Items from your stash or homemade items are not included in the $10 limit. Postage isn't included in the ten dollars. The most important thing to remember with the budget is to have fun, but please do NOT SPEND MORE THAN $10.



Sign ups will <nobr>close</nobr> the 31st of January, and names will be paired on the 1st of February and sent out no later than the 2nd of February (I will try to have all names out on the 1st.)


2. If your pal does not receive her/his package within a reasonable time (7 days max from mailing deadline for within the same country. Then I will need tracking information, 15 days for between countries. There are exceptions, but I MUST be notified of any delays in sending on your end). Failure to comply may result in the following: Being banned for the next month


This is why it is imperative that you keep the hostess informed on ANY mailing issues. Along with negative feedback, you will not be allowed to participate in <nobr>future</nobr> secret pal swaps. It is also possible that other coordinators will not allow you to participate in their swaps.

Found something kinda of korny for my Feb SP at the local gas station. Nothing to do with quilting, but it made me smile and could not resist picking one up for my Feb pal.

I'm in again. I almost missed this. Had fun with January so, gonna keep at it. :) info on the way. :)

Have sent in my info . Again this month I have only been 'allowed' to enter basic info . Keeps pinging back saying I have entered too much !

I'm in again this month. I just wish postage hadn't increased yet again. Padded flat rate envelopes went up by 70 cents -- yikes!

When that happened to me last year, I copied and pasted to Notepad which gets rid of the extra "hidden" characters. Some word processing programs somehow put in hidden stuff that makes the file too large. Another way to reduce the file size is to use .rft instead of .doc or .docx extensions.

Thanks Belfrybat - will try one of those in future.

Now we'll all be looking to see who got something "kinda korny" next month! :)

I'm in going to be in for the Feb. month!!! I missed all of you this month. Loved what everyone received. Hope all those that are in cold states are warm. Our snow is melting which I am so glad.

Huggabug, you are going to love this swap. They also become addicting. I believe I have been doing the SP swap for 2 years now and if I miss a month for any reason, and it does happen once in awhile, I really regret it.

Looking back at some of the previous swaps will give you a really good idea of the type of packages people put together.

You HAVE to make sure that you let me know that you have mailed your package and received them. I am tired of having to do the detective work to see if it was mailed or sending a message asking. If you do not follow the rules (and they are the RULES to being in this swap) then you will not be able to join next month. Got my name and I am already having fun shopping! I LOVE the online shop you love, too. The choice of fabric is one I am not familiar, but will be by the week end. Got to pull out a pattern and get busy or I will be out of time!

Lori, I truly appreciate all you do. You are very understanding if someone has to mail late, and I speak from personal experience. It does not take a lot of time to let Lori know that the package has been shipped / received / or is running late.

Also, if I can add, please privately let the person know that their package was received. There has been at least two occasions that the person did not privately contact me. Just like everyone involved in this swap, I really try to personalize the package to the person I am sending to. It only takes few moments to send a Thank You to your sender. I realize my taste may not be yours, but then just re-gift the item in another swap. I bet we have all done that more than once.

Received my SP name. She lives a few states north of me - in fact thought I would be living there in retirement :-)

Please remember that mailing date is the 13th of February. For international mailings the date is February 8th.If you are ordering something for your sp it makes more sense to have them ship direct to your sp. That way you are not paying for shipping 2 times. You are also not waiting to mail out until your order arrives, thus making you late mailing your package.

I also wanted to ask if there's someone out there who would like to join who missed the cut off date or if someone want to send to another secret pal that way you would have 2 secret pals and get 2 packages. Please let me know asap as I have one person in need of a sp I have not added her yet and all names are assigned.

I received my sp name last night. Now starts the search of what I think she will like. I found two things she mentioned on sale! Love that word sale. Going shopping today. Have 4 shops in mind, with coupons for all. Going to have a fun day, hope you all do to!
