Glad you like everything

heronfan 02-09-2015 08:06 AM

Sending my Secret Pal's package out this morning. It's headed a bit to the north and east. As the crow flies, going from Natalia, TX where I live now to Albany, NY where I used to live I would go through the far north west part of your state! Are you my secret pal?

This should be posted under Jan SP, but it wasn't opened until very late in the month and I wanted to be sure to share with everyone. Aussie Croyden sent me a wonderful pkg with fat quarters and fun patterns, machine needles, thread samples, calendar, and craft mag. I had lots of fun going thru the pattrns in the mag, and the pattern packets are just crying out for me to try. Thanks again for a great package.

homecaregiver 02-09-2015 02:54 PM

to my SP, Have you figured it out yet?? I mailed the rest of your package today and the delivery date is Wed. Feb 11 so be on the watch. Hoping you enjoy everything.
Pat

I miss putting a package together, was on vacation and the sign ups were closed by the time I got home:( I'll follow the thread and wait for next month.

Quilty-Louise 02-10-2015 05:32 PM

I received 2 envelopes in the mail yesterday that had white fabric.

Not sure if this was from my SP or not because there was no card,
or note.

Will post pics tomorrow if possible.

My parcel has been sent and it is going to someone who lives near some mountains.
And I guess they may have snow on them at this time of the year.

A big thank you to Linda R for all the wonderful gifts you sent. The quilted bag, the orphan blocks and the bright fabric will all be used real soon ! The Farmhouse Quilt book has house patterns that I want to try and the redwork embroidery pattern looks like fun. Of course, I've already sampled the chocolates !
Thanks again for everything !

I received from sewnsew lots of red fabrics, cool fabric labels, a journal, a really nice ergonomic seam ripper! I also got some seeds to plant, chocolates, heart cookie cutters, zippered pouch, and more goodies. Thank you Pat. Wonderful package.

My mystery packages have been figured out.

Today I got a totally awesome box from Pat aka homercaregiver.

You all just wouldn't believe the load of fabrics in purples & yellows.
I mean a 2-1/2 gallon sized zip lock bag full!

Plus the 2 envelopes of premium muslin that came in earlier
this week.

Also in this box was a family size box of decaf tea bags, I only
buy this kind of tea for myself to brew iced tea. Even got some
of the Thread Heaven conditioner, a pack of 100/16 size needles.
Some mixed nuts and trail mix inside a gold bag.

Now for the pictures of my huge haul.

You may be forgiven in thinking that AlvaStitcher bought out her LQS - what a parcel! Everything I said a liked - and more! Fabric cuts, Fairy Frost, batiks, Fat Quaters, patterns - including McKenna Ryan and Halloween, pattern DVDs, needles, buttons (my most wanted) in a cute felt bag and a Kwik Klip. What can I say - a truly overwhelming generous parcel. Thank you so much!

AlvaStitcher 02-13-2015 10:38 AM

Knitette, So glad you received the package and all things are to your liking. It was fun to put the package together especially since you were so specific in your tastes. When I revised my profile, I couldn't think of some of the answers but maybe now I can revise it again. LOL

I received a wonderful package from MaryC13. Loads of fabric, including a large piece of orange (my most wanted); a large heart in textured fabric which is now gracing an end table as a table topper; variegated thread; eyeglass case, which is most appreciated and will live in my truck to protect my sunglasses; a case to hold my rotary cutter and other notions, and a monthly calendar/notepad, and Reisen -- which you will notice is open and half gone. Thank you so very much, Mary.

AlvaStitcher, is your avatar a cat pincushion? So cute! Do you know where I can find the pattern? Thanks.

AlvaStitcher 02-14-2015 09:27 AM

Belfrybat, Thanks and yes it is a pincushion. I made this several years ago for a pincushion swap on another forum. I came across a pic of it and decided to use as my avatar for a while. I know I had a pattern for a cat's head but don't know where I got it at the moment. If I can find it, I'll post the info.

theifner 02-14-2015 10:31 AM

I received a great package last week from Verna2197. Hubby and I were on vacation and I just got back today; however, my house/pet sitter filled me on all the goodies I received while I was away. I received a beautiful yard of black and white fabric and a colorful bundle of fat quarters that will find their home in my Affairs of the Heart Quilt. She must of been reading my mind as she sent me a package of rotary blade cutters. Look at the beautiful homemade heart, I really like it. The purse pattern look like a lot of fun. I really enjoy making bags. I also received an oriental drawstring bag filled with lotions and a sample of homemade soap. I got a kick of the "Hop into Spring" note pad, now if MN would only figure out what Spring is. Was had to come back to only 5 degrees when I just spent 3 weeks in the tropics. My four legged friends were remembered with kitty and puppy treats and my treats were a box of Valentine candy and my favorite Lindor truffles.
Thank you so much for everything Verna2197.

Hi all! I haven't been on here for a bit, I had an accident that caused me to stay home and heal. I took a fall and landed straight on my back. I'm feeling a bit better and I'm thankful that my fiancée has taken good care of me. I received my pkg. from Grace and a wonderful pkg. it is. I received a table runner of Snoopy (my hero!) and along the inner borders she stiched a beautiful embroidery (I took close up photos), beautiful fabrics, handmade Christmas ornaments, a cute small wallet to keep my change or business cards in, a small cute spring basket and if I'm missing anything I apologize profusely my meds are kicking in...Jan Rutherford please say thank you to Grace for me and that I truly enjoyed this pkg. Here are the photos,

quiltnut4ever 02-14-2015 08:33 PM

Also, to my SP, your pkg. will go out on Tuesday since I forgot that Monday is a holiday!

Jan Rutherford 02-14-2015 10:17 PM

From ANOKA quilter she received 5 very pretty fats in pinks, roses and tourqoises, a big bag full of variegated embroidery thread, needles, needle threaders and pkg of fabric grippers, and a beautiful soft blues crocheted dish rag, and a quilting book on twisted table runners.... ( NOW we know who sent the book as it came separate)...Ginger was thrilled and wants to thank you so VERY MUCH for everything...Great first secret pal pkg.

catjo 02-15-2015 10:05 AM

I know this doesn't belong on this post, but thought I'd offer this group first since I've been involved for so long.

The church group I sew with cleaned out their quilting room and was going to throw out bushels of books and old patterns. I just about had a heart attack when I saw the pile, so put it all in the back of my van and brought it all home to go through. You know, "one man's trash is another man's treasure..." Anyway, found some old Sunbonnet Sue patterns and books and a rather extensive collection of books and block patterns for southwest themed quilts. The former user must have been a history teacher because the blocks are from all the Indian tribes and native areas of the West.

I would love to find a good home for these patterns -- if you're willing to pay postage, please pm me and they can be yours.

TPr9258 02-17-2015 09:54 AM

do we start one of these for March soon?

I would like to thank theifner for the package she sent. I love the Rick rack colors you chose... Thank you so much. I will be bowing out of this swap for a while and I know I may not sound too happy right now. It's nothing to do with the swap or anyone... I just found out yet another death has happened in my family. That's 5 in the last two years, 3 of which were within the last 6 months. My half-sister died yesterday. She was 25. I am just exhausted.
The chocolate is much appreciated right now theifner. Thank you.

Nancy in Louisiana 02-17-2015 02:08 PM

Thanks for responding -- the Southwest and Sunbonnet Sue patterns are going to new homes. I still have patterns for clown (yuck!), circus, animals for kids quilts, crazy quilting, applique, and tons of OLD misc. stuff. Cross stitch, crochet...my SPs for the next few months are going to be inundated with patterns (lol).
