d'sm-- deep breaths! there really are very few attacking spiders. i try to grab their string and walk them out the door. they eat bugs in the garden and catch flies during fly season. i hate flies. forgot about them when i made my list. flies and skinks. i seem to have an affinity for big bulky animals like rhinos and hippos! and somehow i have become enamored of flamingos. certainly nothing i drew up with in new england and new york! lol here i live in a neighborhood where flamingos in the yard is acceptable! gotta love that!

I am going to sew blocks today and maybe break it up and work on my wall quilt for rhondas swap. doing the bear with four bear paws in the corners nothing out there but something someone might like. then I have to magically figure out how to put a round on this center for my round in the round robin. Anyone have eq and want to help me? I am seriously stuck.. 6.5 inch round ... |

Hmm, let's see. What comes to me is scrap piecing trimmed off to a circle. I have a whole Walmart bag full of scraps of various colors. :)
Speaking of the heads on the wall. Remember the guy I was telling you all about with the trophy room added on to his house? I found a couple photos. The man didn't take pics of the heads so much as the space though. Shame, because some of them are awesome! Oh, I forgot to mention that they had a rearrange-able 9-hole miniature golf course put in the floor. The green parts are just rugs they can move around to change the course, and they have plugs to stop up the holes. Let me see if I can attach the pics here... Can you see the mountain goat in the corner!? |
Guess to each his own - a wall mount or any stuffed mount is only as good as the taxidermist that practices his/her craft; me I'd take a good print any day.

can you imagine trying to sleep? always eyes on you. how to give a little kid a nightmare. good thing he had a big house he needed it. looks more like a museum in weird way !

Dabbler, so true. I'm the same way.
Funny thing is, that room is out of proportion with the rest of their house, but it works. The end of the room shown in the second photo is where the apartment-like area is. This one room is enormous, but the rest of their house is very cozy, including the apartment-like area. Elsabrat, did you get your circle problem worked out for the round robin? |
OK, I guess everyone ran off & left this thread. Suppose nobody wants to know about my new play pretty.... :(

I want to know so take the time and tell me all about it. Use poly thread for embroidery, NOT cotton, it won't work trust me!!! If you use it for just stitching on blocks, etc., yes regular cotton thread is okay just like regular sewing. But it won't work for embroidery patterns, the stitching changes automatically on your machine to embroider. |
Forgot to tell you if you order that pattern, you can experiment on me. I'll take one in a heart beat, my hoop on mine isn't that big. I only have 4" on the Brother, my Singer has an 8" but have never used it. That's stupid but I just sew everything on it and don't want to embroider and not be able to use it for just sewing.
