I PROMISE to get my DQ's finished this week!

Kinda got busy cleaning my sewing room so that I could get
my new machine in there now that I have the machine in place
(room not FULLY clean yet) I think I will be able to get back to
my dq's.

I only need to ad borders on one and the other just needs all
the blocks sewn together and the borders added.

oksewglad 01-23-2012 09:22 AM

Mine is ready to quilt then binding and in the mail by tomorrow. Hope CQRobin likes it!! It's out of the ordinary for me.

kwiltkrazy 01-23-2012 09:43 AM

Rec'd a Great Lighthouse Quilt today from my partner Moommist 13344 from Erie PA...She replicated Erie Land Lighthouse...so talented...See the photo below and history of it that she sent along with it...
I guess Great Minds think alike because I sent her a Lighthouse also representing two states I live in NY and RI and their Lighthouses on the accent fabrics. I forgot to take a photo of mine once it was finished but did take a photo of top only ...Thanks Maxine...you did such a great job I LOVE IT!!!!

Krystyna 01-23-2012 01:42 PM

Oh, how beautiful! The composition is fabulous and that border! Lucky, lucky you!
Allie, I am sorry I haven't post a photo yet. I need to get a clear space!

Judith1005 01-23-2012 02:07 PM

Those are wonderful and both so different. You must have been channeling each other.

Partner, Mine was out for delivery today. I hope it brings you a smile. :)

Lynnie25 - what a wonderful setting for such lovely prints!

Dragonfly Nana 01-23-2012 03:27 PM

Hobbykat & Moommist - Good thing those did not come to my house - my step-daughter would have absconded with them! Both are beautiful depictions done in fabric.

jillnjo 01-23-2012 03:29 PM

I love those lighthouses!! Wonderful quilts, both of you.

Dragonfly Nana 01-23-2012 03:33 PM

Chele - I want to play for February! Now don't hate on me gang but......I finished piecing a baby gift quilt this weekend and the left over material was screaming at me - I am your February DQ!!
Being the fabric listener that I am I did as I was bid by the fabric and finished my DQ for February this weekend.

jillnjo 01-23-2012 03:37 PM

I've got one over half finished and it may be my Feb. partner's quilt, too!

hobbykat1955 01-23-2012 03:54 PM

I started my Feb also...some of us are ahead of the game....

Dragonfly Nana 01-23-2012 04:11 PM

Whew...glad I am not the only one that got a head start.:)

oksewglad 01-23-2012 04:21 PM

Oh you guys!!! Here I'm trying to get my January one done. Hey while FMQ'ing my plastic foot broke; spring et al is fine. Dilemma: can I FMQ without my foot? Any thoughts?

kwiltkrazy 01-23-2012 04:46 PM

I have seen it done, but be extremely careful, you don't need any extra color in your quilt.

oksewglad 01-23-2012 05:12 PM

Oh thanks for chiming in L! With your experience with FMQ, your answer has merit. Okay back to sewing, got the binding on!

Chele 01-23-2012 05:29 PM

Ya'll are brave. Free motion quilting without a foot? Yikes! Make sure your needle is sharp in case it meets with fingers. You don't want a dull one piercing you. Sending safe vibes.

Oh, Chele, I will. Have already pierced a finger and don't want a repeat performance. DH won't want to take me to ER again!
Here's the wonderful Road to Oklahoma that CQRobin sent me! The colors are soft with nice contrast; SID quilting topnotch; nice back labels-1st the OK flag, 2nd celebrating the OK land rush, and 3rd the personalized label.
She also sent some neat extras--love having and extra tweezers, the emery board works like a charm and what a great little pattern she picked out.
Keep her in your prayers as she really needs them. Thanks again Robin.

jillnjo 01-23-2012 06:28 PM

Gladie; What a gorgeous little quilt! It looks just like you! Me, too-hehe. All the extras are a nice touch, don't you think?

Wow, that landscape quilt is wonderful!

TammyB 01-23-2012 08:32 PM

QuiltingKrazy and Judith1005, that's a super sunny Florida DQ. I lived in P'Cola for a couple years while my husband was in flight school in the 80s. Absolutely loved that area! Gorgeous beaches!

Just reading about all the snow and flooding in some parts of the US - guess you don't want to know that I have spent the weekend sewing on my shack verandah, enjoying the hot sunny days with just a hint of a cool breeze. Oh how I love this summer weather :)

What a wonderful quilt with all the Australian images. Love it!

How is your weather report for today? I hope you are staying in & staying warm, too. We are getting blanketed with it here in Yakima. I don't much care for it, but I really like the idea of staying in my sewing room & sewing on a few of my projects!! Take care everyone that is in the middle of these storms.

Wow, I didn't realize you were in Yakima. Last week certainly was one for the record books. -10 at the beginning, then finally warmed up to 40 by Saturday. I finally got out of the house on Saturday, only to go to work. I hope all is well in Yakima.

I had a wonderful surprise in the post today; my DQ from Woody! It is gorgeous. I can't believe it. It looks like a real stained glass picture. And more goodies with it: pocket calendar, Koala bear bookmark and gorgeous FQ of Australian fabric. THANK YOU so much, Woody. I love all of it!

oksewglad 01-23-2012 09:09 PM

Oh you "down under" gals are doing your self proud! Love the parrot, too.

This is the fun part of the month--seeing everyone's beauties.
Gnight now!

Muv 01-24-2012 01:44 AM

What a collection! Well done everyone, the quilts this month are fabulous! It is tipping down with rain here, dull and miserable, and I am in front of the computer grinning with delight...

Special hugs to CQRobin - you have made a beautiful quilt, I always love the miniature classics, it's great that you have been able to join in this month.

Looking at these quilts has made me even more impatient - quilts are in the post both ways between me and my partner - the suspense!
