Washington state and NYC, the umbrellas are adorable. I can definitely get the washington feel. HobbyKat, NYC as a bargello is cool. It definitely has the New Years eve feel and the hustle and bustle. These are all so wonderful.

rwquilts 01-27-2012 05:39 AM

Iowa Chick and NYC DQ's are adorable! Love them!

jillnjo 01-27-2012 07:13 AM

Gals, these quilts are fantastic!! I'd love all of them in my sewing room!

QuilterMomma 01-27-2012 08:44 AM

I have one completed and will be going out to QuiltyLouise today. My Montana one is taking just a bit longer. Should get done this weekend. Darn Carpal Tunnel just does not want me to do binding. Hmmm, maybe use the sewing machine to get it done. That would help. Ljdugas, look for it in the mail by Wednesday.

Mariposa 01-27-2012 09:40 AM

I had a feeling you would take a peek too. And no I didn't know about your barns, but knew you were a "country girl" and thought you'd like this. When I got the design down I felt this would be at home in any farm country and Iowa as well. I'm so tickled that you like it.

Mine arrived from Tulip today!! It's a little marvel, all Paper-pieced. Thank you, Raylene. She has blocks for birds, orchards, gardens, trees, agriculture and one for her own greenhouses and love of gardening!! A treasure. I'll post a picture of the front and the back.

The bargello was a great idea for representing NYC!

Judith1005 01-27-2012 03:53 PM

Jillnjo, and tulip, What a wonderful little quilt. Your pp'ing is perfect. I love how your represented your state.

hobbykat1955 01-27-2012 04:25 PM

I hope she likes it.

birdlady and QuilterMomma,

I FINALLY got both of your dq's finished tonight, they will
be in the mail MONDAY at the latest, tomorrow if I can get
to the PO in time.

If either of you ladies needs me to post pictures for you
just let me know, I have taken several (mainly for my records
and swap files).

WOW everyone ALL of your dq's are fabulous!!!!!!!!!! now
I am second guessing on mine LOL I only did a stitch in the
ditch because of the layout of my dq's.

Quilty-Louise 01-27-2012 11:23 PM

Is there a February DQ swap signup yet? or did I miss
it already?

(I sure hope I didn't miss it).

Chele 01-28-2012 04:29 AM

Here's the thread for the February swap: http://www.quiltingboard.com/member-...e-t176576.html

Let me know if you want to play!

cherrybsixty 01-28-2012 07:21 AM

Chele, I PM you last evening, but I am signing up for February's swap. I am on my way to the PO now to put Sewbeadit's DQ in the post. It is bright for a first timer but hers is a gorgeous work of art. I am so happy to be a receiver of this kind of artform. Everyone's art has been beautiful to gaze upon. Thank you Chele for hosting this forum.

I got a very special squishy in the mail today. My DQ from Quilting Krazy arrived. And it is super special. I feel like I got a mini guided tour of her hometown. It is fabulous. She also included an "oogle". It's a good luck charm made by a local artisan. It is so adorble. Thank you Lisa. It's fabulous and I love it!! :)

jillnjo 01-28-2012 05:39 PM

Your quilt is very detailed and interesting! The parkway has showed up a few times this month! It's a beautiful drive to take. I've got some cousins down there in the Appalachians, maybe they are familiar with those "oogles"!

uniquedesigner 01-28-2012 09:46 PM

uniquedesigner 01-28-2012 09:48 PM

Just reading about all the snow and flooding in some parts of the US - guess you don't want to know that I have spent the weekend sewing on my shack verandah, enjoying the hot sunny days with just a hint of a cool breeze. Oh how I love this summer weather :)

I Love this little quilt. Great Job.

Yay :) now I get to 'stalk' the postie for the next couple of weeks. Can't wait to see it.

My goodness, I stepped away from QB for a few days and so many gorgeous DQs arrived at their new destination and they are so unique, every one of them. Love the umbrellas for WA but you know I don't think it rained once when I was there about 10 years ago :)

Lynnie25 01-29-2012 02:23 AM

QuiltingKrazy/Judith, love your little DQ. I have never heard of 'oogles' before but I just love the one you received Judith. Mine would probably have to spend way too much time in a dark place though, have quite a few bad days or grouchy days :) :)

Quilty-Louise 01-29-2012 07:48 AM

I made it to the PO yesterday. One package is "suppose"
to be delivered on Monday, the other on Tuesday.

urgodschild2 01-29-2012 11:02 AM

WOW. I love looking at all the gorgeous quilts. This is my first time doing an exchange and you all have given me lots of ideas for February already.

I sent Mariposa my interpertation of our state butterfly, Zebra Longwing Butterfly. I sent her some of our beatiful sky and sunshine. She said she received it, so I take it I can post it. She collects 'Moose' so I did the back in black fabric that had red moose all over it.

Chele 01-29-2012 03:40 PM

Oh yes, please post any and all pictures you have of the quilts you've made or received. We love seeing what everyone creates.
