Beautiful "stained glass parrot". If you didn't look twice, you'd never realize it was fabric.

:)Received my lovely DQ from jillnjo yesterday! Her FM is absolutely amazing! Thanks so much Nancy, I will now remember Indiana for more than their awesome beef cattle! I will display this on my quilting wall in my sewing room. This has been so much fun, I have learned alot and was blessed with a wonderful partner and now a new friend. I am anxiously awaiting Feb. Nancy, your DQ will be in the mail tomorrow, I just added the label and won't make it to the post office before todays icy rain.

Oh Tulip you are one lucky lady to get a jillnjo quilt! It's so hard to see her exquisite workmanship in photos. Love the clothesline detail. Nancy I want a real little trailer like that; pull it up into my yard and park it, plant flowers all around and use it as my "garden shed". Know where I can find one?

Tulip, that is an awesome quilt.
|
WOW, WOW, an explosion of gorgeous quilts - love the Road to Oklahoma and the Lighthouses, the Florida one is so bright and cheery and jillnjo's quilt is amazing. But I love the parrots (my backyard friends) done by Woody - our Aussie animals are great to depict in a quilt.
Now to decide on what to do for February's DQ??? |
All of the quilts have been so original! Great job, everyone! There's more to see, so stay tuned.

I absolutely love Jillnjo's trailer quilt, but will someone please explain to me what the connection is with Indiana. Some things have to be explained to foreigners.
|
Well, indeed this month's doll quilts are awesome!! The bird is so bright and I like the stained glass look.
|
Oh, I can tell you about trailers and where I live! The area in northern IN that I live in(Elkhart County) is the RV capital of the world, at least that's a slogan around here. The manufacturing of travel trailers and motor homes is huge here and employs many people. So, we have really felt the impact of the slowdown in the economy in recent years. I decided to draw a little old-timey trailer and use 30's prints--these small RV's are in demand with vintage lovers and go for good prices if you have one! Looks like we could have a kick-back,ice tea and hamburger day, doesn't it?
|
Jillnjo, Your little quilt is darlin. I love the little trailer, quilts on a line....And the 30's prints. (I'm drooling over.) Yes, it looks like the party's happening right there on the perfect summer day. :)
|
Love your DQ jillnjo! What a cute little trailer!
|
When I saw the RV jillnjo, I knew you were from Elkart, IN. My quilt is going out in the morning to my new Canadian friend, Quilt Queen 2. mary
|
Loving all the DQ they look awesome!
I'm ready for Feb. DQ Swap where do I sign up...LOL Donna |
Jilnjo, that is absolutely darling! I didn't know that about Elkhart, IN. Makes me want to visit and pick one up. Perhaps a Quiltmobile!

I am so late in posting photos of the fabulous West Virginia Doll Quilt that Allie sent me. What amazing quilting she did. I love it! And I agree with her tag - Mini Quilts are Tiny Treasures!
|
Thanks for the nice compliments all and QCRobin, I doubt I've ever made two of the same of anything(not even mistakes:eek:!). I'm going to try a little applique for Feb. and see if I can do something new on my machine.Nancy.

Krystyna; Wow to your little blue and gold quilt! I just love the binding fabric Allie used, too. The tiny meandering stitches look perfect!

I heard from mollymunchkin that she received the DQ so now time to post a pic. While it is simple, it envokes in me memories of wonderful times spent in the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA.

Judith,
Yours is IN THE MAIL TODAY! Sorry it took so long. Hope you like it! |
I am still working on binding. Darn carpel tunnel and fatigue. Will get them out asap for sure. Don't like it when takes me so long to get done.
|
I'm so excited. This month has been so much fun. I will be on the look out for a squishy. :)

I sent my quilt to my partner and the tracking says she got it today so will post pictures. She lives in Kansas and I live in Washington State. So the front is gray fabrics with umbrellas, for the rain we get here, the green fabric is for the fir trees and the backing fabric is apples for the Washington State apples. I hope she likes it.
