Sewbiz I took your fabric with and matched it with this gray. Looked good in store but please tell me if you think it's not dark enough and I will play with it a more and see what I can do. To me it looks fine in person but not in photo. Why is this one smaller then the other pictures. Will take another in a bit so you can see it better

Pretty blocks, JLT and Terri!
Terri, thank you for the churn dash! It will be fine because I'll quilt it in a way that makes the churn dash stand out from the background. No worries! My son in law is going to love his quilt! |
Great Sewbiz, that is a relief.

My last block for the March group, 'Windblown' for LStew2212:
I have thoroughly enjoyed making each and every block for you ladies. So much fun! I'll be working on the April group blocks soon, but will be checking back in to see what March is making. :o |
Lovely! One of my all time favorite blocks. The only name I've ever found for it is Split Ohio Star.

For NanaKathy55 a variation of Ohio Star (not sure if the block has it's own name or not).

Terri - That nautilus will be perfect for a corner. Thanks!

For Nana Kathy, hope you like it. Road to heaven
This block went together beautifully and I was having an enlightening conversation with my self. Though boy wouldn't it be nice if the road to heaven went as smoothly as this block did, I wondered if the delight I had in making this block had anything to do with the name etc. much deeper thoughts then usual. Grabbed my phone to take a picture and their was a message from my pastor asking if I willing to share my faith journey in front of the congragation. Speak in front of the church? Me? Yikes. Well I sure had a quick answer to my rambling thoughts, nope the road is not going to be easy. |
Nice looking block Terriamn. Good luck with your speaking engagement.
|
Love the block terriamn. The road getting there might not have been easy, But the telling of it will be. He wants us to have as much faith in ourselves as we do in him. You will do wonderful. huggs
|
Beautiful block, Terri. You'll do fine with your testimony of faith. You'll be talking to friends, nothing to worry about.
|
Terri, how serendipitous that you were working on your road to Heaven when the Pastor called! :D Don't be nervous about speaking. The words you say will be a great encouragement to others and will build their faith too.
The block is beautiful. And the colors are serene. |
All2pieces thank you so much for sewing my blocks. They'll be a great addition to my quilt

Jaba - Glad you like them.
NanaKathy55 - Here's tonight's block. I don't know the name; I saw something like this on paintmejudy's Mystery Train and liked it. Your fabric worked up beautifully. |

The more I looked at MonaGs orange block I made the more dissatisfied I was so I asked her if she would like another one. Finished this so she will get an extra from me :)
|
Wonder why you are dissatisfied, JoanLiz? It's lovely and fits with her other blocks real well. I love that purple peacock feather batik.
|
Sometimes we're very hard on ourselves. I think it's a beautiful block but it's what you think that matters. :)

No idea on why my pictures are all different sizes but going with the smallest size till dh can check it out
this is for Lister hope your granddaughter likes it "Aunt "Dinah" |
Oh, I know she will, Terri. She's so looking forward to getting this quilt.
|
Very pretty blocks, Terri...
Libster, are you showing your granddaughter the blocks as they are posted, or is this going to be a total surprise? Yesterday I spent all my sewing time cutting up scraps... mostly scraps of my I Spy fabrics. I had so much! And so much already cut into different size strips and squares, a la Bonnie Hunter (scrap saver system). It's so time consuming... really the best way to deal with scraps is just to give them to someone else! :D Now I need to make some scrappy quilts. |

I've shown her the blocks in the gallery a couple of times now. I think that's why she's so excited about this quilt. She 30 years old and a mom, but she's like a little kid waiting for Christmas. I love that in her. |
Is there a disease or syndrome where a triangle goes one way and you add a square but you see everything in reverse. I have to quit trying to do these kind of blocks, I must turn and sew them upside down and inside out and anything else you could do wrong.
|
:D when you find the name of the disease or syndrome Let me know. It will almost be a relief to put a name to mine!!
|
Guys, do y'all mean dyslexia? My son has that. He writes his words in the wrong order and his numbers are all mixed up. If that's it, there is help for it.
|
Libster I have no problem with numbers but sometimes I have to have dh lay out my pieces for me. I really can't make sense of them, besides the times I just plain sew them wrong.
|
It affects different people in different ways, Terri. It might be worth it to mention it to your doctor at your next check-up. My son writes his words backward sometimes. His condition was not caught until he went to work with the police department. They caught it in his written reports. He was a canine officer for 11 years. He previously served seven years in the military and they never caught it.
|
Terri, I suspect you are being funny, however there are several issues that could relate to spacial vision impairment. If life long most likely just a different wiring in the brain or a different way of thinking. However new onset is a neurological problem that could have several sources, TBI (brain injury, it doesn't have to be the big catastrophic injury even concussion can have some lasting brain injury), Parkinson's, or Alzheimer's are the biggest potential issues.
|
I hope you were just being funny, Terri!
Tonight I did a quilt top from a photo on Pinterest that is basically a quilt block blown up huge into a throw. It was fun. Like doing one of our blocks on steroids! I'm going to explore doing some other blocks that way... embiggened. :D (I know, that's not a word...) |
Terriamn - no matter what you call it, there's nothing wrong with that block. Thank you, it is great. I appreciate the thinking that goes into fussy cutting the center square and other pieces.

ljdugas - your fabric is very nice. Here's a "Housewife" block for your collection. The roses with pink and white looks so very feminine.

My oh my, I am going to have to stash this block in my inspiration file, it is awesome! There have been several blocks this boom that I have never seen before.
