March Mini Quilt swap
 

For this swap we will be making miniature quilts. The suggested size is 6-18 inches or anywhere in between, finished. Square, round, rectangle, hexi, it’s up to you.
(If you and your partner decide to go slightly bigger, that is up to the two of you)




The theme is “Here comes Spring! ….or Peter Cottontail!”
either your literal interpretation or just the color way you choose.
The little quilt must have a top, batting and backing and must be bound. You can use any method you wish to fashion the top, piecing, appliqué, whole cloth, thread painting etc.




This will be a partnered swap. Each partner will make a mini quilt for the other.
(Partners cannot impose requirements or expectations upon each other.)




Please PM tlambing by Sunday, March 1st to sign up. I will then match up names and get them out to you by the evening of March 2nd. You will have until March 31st to mail your tiny quilt to your partner. This is a FIRM DEADLINE!
Please don’t sign up unless you can commit fully to this deadline.

Any swapper that fails to follow through and does not contact me and their partner will be banned from any of my future swaps and will receive bad (swap)feedback. I know that sometimes things happen that are out of our control, I certainly would take this into consideration, but you MUST COMMUNICATE.

I am required to insist that participants send me, tlambing, at least 1 PM during this month long swap to verify that they are still active in this swap and are working on their promised project.




I am required to insist that participants notify me, tlambing as soon as they have finished their quilt and are ready to mail it.






I am required to insist that all participants send me, tlambing verification of shipment, including tracking information.




Participants are required to insure that packages will not arrive “postage due”




Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipients government are the sole responsibility of the recipient.




Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by March 31st shall be deemed as “late” and risk receiving Negative (swap) feedback.




Please keep in touch with me and your partner as required. Please let me know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time.




Swappers should treat each other as friends and focus on the fun. So…please be prepared to be flexible, patient and understanding if necessary and appropriate.

I am in again. Don't want to rub it in but we have spring starting up already. We'll pay for it in the summer heat.

Alas, I must sit out any swaps during March. My sewing area, along with most of the house, will be in the midst of construction. In between clouds of sheet rock dust I have a couple of personal sewing tasks that I'd like to get taken care of so I can hopefully join up again for April.

I will be popping in on the forums to oooh and ahh. Have fun everyone. Can't wait to see all the great things that will be created.

I also will have to sit out for March due to getting caught up on my scrappy mystery quilt, and some things I am working on for my dad who is in the nursing home. Did I mention house work?

No this is not a conspiracy with Whigrose. :D But, like her I will be popping in to ooh and ahh. That does sound like a conspiracy. lol....

I will be back due to my being tired of winter, and looking forward to a mini with pretty spring and summer flowers. I love love flowers. :)

OK, so after much deliberation I have decided to join this mini swap. I really want to do an art quilt and probably small. I must warn my partner (whomever she may be) that I usually don't get creative until I get closer to the deadline. Although I may try to turn over a new leaf. But, since I am still doing this at my age, there isn't much hope for change. I will, however, meet the mailing deadline. There... my cards are all on the table.

We've got about 15 so far. I think we may have scared off the "newbies" I told ya'll to be nice ;)

Absolutely! Newbies the ladies are SO loving and gracious! They know we all started at the same place! Some are just further along now. I feel totally outclassed, but determined that I would do it again and try my very best. That is all I can do!

Come on everybody...join in!!! This is my favorite swap (besides the pincushion swap since I am the host). :p I added an album in my profile of all the minis that I've made and sent. I still want to create another album with all the minis I've received. It is so nice to see them all in one place!

Thank you ladies! thats just what we needed. I'm wracking my brain on what to do. I have a thought but not sure it'll actually work. I think it will be a weekend of experimentation. I'm kind of hoping my partner is into bunnies!

If you're lurking and wondering if you should join us...Please do! we are a great group of people and encourage all skill levels. It's a pretty quick project and you get to practice all the skills of quilt making, in a tiny form.

Spring or BUNNIES?

Sent my partner a PM just now. I prefer SPRING!!! I am sick and tired of the cold, ice and snow, and speaking of ice and snow, we are supposed to be getting more this afternoon into evening and tomorrow isn't going to be much better. They are already sending the kids home from school early. Can't wait for warmer temps, and at this point anything above 40 is warm right now.

My partner said either...I'm thinking BUNNIES!

I hope that East coast weather gives you guys a break soon!

Cheesehead and I are thinking bunnies as well... She offered me a mini that somehow includes Lambeau stadium, but we figured with the weather being as it is, it'd be mostly white...for snow. Lol.

I had bunnies on the mind, and looked out of my office window and saw a bunny hopping around on top of the parking garage that is adjacent to our building! Now how in the heck did that little bunny get all the way up there?!!!

I think it's Spring for Sheri and I. Although, I had a cute bunny idea ... So time permitting, I may have to make one for myself. *Gasp*
