Roda would like BUTTONS....Oh I make buttons! I hope who ever I get will want buttons, or handmade. I'm painting buttons (clay) to match 30's fabric prints, so I can wrap up for who ever you are out there in cyber space-I can't wait to secretly get to know you!
|
Well, if you get me... yes, I have 2 embroidery machines. I'm easy to please as long as you like it, I know I will. Just don't send any heavy scented candles, or perfumes, I'm allergic to them. I do however love scented body washes. I don't like to read books unless they involve sewing/quilting. :D
I could always use some pretty buttons, I'm running very low. |
<------likes pretty buttons!

Do you have a "Quilter's FabriCalc" (calculator just for quilters for those who may not know). If I have your name and you say no you don't have one and you would like too than I MIGHT just send it to you providing I have room in your box. I just need the RIGHT person to answer my questions LOL. No I am still not going to tell you WHO LOL :D :D :D :D |

Wow!!! Chatty people...naughty & nice!!! Love it.......I haven't gotten my ss name yet, patiently waiting. I hope I gave my person enough to work with...a couple of things I forgot to add....our little shitzu is no bigger than our cat...they play well together as they are best buds. Greta (dog) is mostly blind & has lost most of her teeth & has terrible allergy (not food) problems...so anything for her to eat needs to be small & softish & toys are very small squeeky toys. We adopted her about 4 years ago (she was a neglect, abuse, puppymill situation & was going to be "put down" so we saved her & she is ABSOLUTELY spoiled rotten! :)) She's about 10 years old now. Kneedy (cat) loves puff balls & mice. Hates all other cats (too many fights while ferril, I think) but loves any dog that tolerates cats. I think he must have hung out with dogs while he roamed. That's the 4-legged kids. I hope I gave enough to you about sewing likes & dislikes for me...I say sewing because I do it all (check out my posts in other threads). I have most rulers & gadgets, threads, stabilizers, etc. I don't have alot of room for "dust collectors" even though I like them, so prefer not to get them. Love scraps & handmade as I said. Actually, I'm fairly easy to please. Love chocolate (but no pecans or walnuts)...I have recently become addicted to Werther's cinnamon/carmel hard candies even though they are not chocolate. I always have a bag of them handy in my sewing room; suck on them & sew--not messy! :) I am sorry, girls, I cannot join you in the hole (the claustrophia would get to me unless it is about 2 miles around & I could still see out--not fun, but very true!), so I will just say "hi" & leave you to your fun & try to make some fun with the ones NOT in the hole...that's fun too!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got to get some last minute things done for the craftshow this weekend...check back later. Teri, thanks for doing the great job you're doing & feel better soon!

I don't have my SS name yet either. Patiently waiting and thinking and pondering. I'm a newbie so hoping my person listed lots about themselves.
I don't have an embroidery machine, but I do hand embroider. I don't need a calculator. I use an app on my phone. I love buttons. Love 30s prints. Love bright colors - oranges and yellows and greens and reds and aqua. Once the holidays are over I plan to make three modernish quilts - cherries, strawberries, and apples - all on white/cream backgrounds. Excited to go shopping for my SS! |
Also love handmade/homemade items. I got married in June and my husband and I tried requesting only handmade or repurposed items as wedding gifts. You know, items that have special meaning instead of just "stuff". Our families were confused so we ended up having to register. Always love pin cushions and mug rugs and needle books and oven mits and on and on and on. Not picky - simply excited to be part of this wonderful community! :)

So happy !!! I got my SS name!!! and I'm so excited!!!! This is going to be so much fun!!!

WOO HOO!!! Got my name, too. I am going to the city Saturday where there is a Joanns and shop, shop, shop!! I am going to the same town tomorrow for my work comp doctor appt, but all they have is Wal-mart. My best friend had a quilt shop there, but she had to close her doors a year and a half ago. You would think with 2 state prisons in that town there would be more there, but theres not. Reno, NV is the closest big city & thats just over an hour away, 90 miles. What to make, what to make. I am also making some apple butter and apple jelly this weekend, too. Let the fun begin!! Thank you Terri for this swap and all the hard work you put into it for us.:)
|
Nurse Bonnie... I hope you get my name. I DO NOT have a fabric calculator and stink at math so bad that if the pattern doesnt tell me how much yardage is needed, I just dont bother to make whatever the pattern is.
On another note...I received my secret santa person.... shes going to be sooo easy to make a package for. So...tomorrow Im off to buy some groceries...and maybe a trip to Joanns. |
Madbury what is your favorite shop in the area? I have been to Glad creations once and SR Harris once. I live south of the river so don't get up to them often I go mostly to Mill End. Welcome to the quiltingboard.
For the person who got me, I think I'm fairly easy. I like simple things not into much bling, my main machine is older than I am, I have been married for 32 years, you do the math. It goes forward and backwards but it is a work horse. I do embroidery by hand, I do paper piece but not often. I am very thrifty with my fabric, for some reason that twister tool is way too much waste. I do a lot of hand work but not much applique. The only tool I really want and haven't purchase is the perfect piecer by Jinny Beyer, none of the fabric stores near me carry it. I don't buy fabric just to have it so my stash is meager but my scrap pile is big, just can't throw away fabric if it is larger than 1/2 inch. I use things not quite the way they were intended, if I can make something multitask I will. I use the same program to design stained glass to design quilts, that way if I need to create something that needs to be PP I can print my own. (Just have to remember to reverse!!) Love to read books the paper kind and don't subscribe to any magazines, I only own one quilt magazine, I love my library. See I'm easy you can get me anything! |
I would love handmade buttons!

Dedemac - believe it or not I haven't made it to Mills End yet. That's my husband's aunt's favorite shop so I really have no excuse. Maybe I'll check it out this weekend. I've only been in MN for two years so really still learning my way around. I love Millie P's in Anoka and Quilted Treasures in Rogers. They aren't super close, but always worth the trip. Otherwise, Crafty Planet in Northeast is just 10 minutes away. It isn't a quilt shop and their displays are always outdated, but they have lovely fabrics and embroidery patterns. I visited several shops during the MN Shop Hop - just finished a quilt top from the state park fabrics (haven't quilted it yet but the photo is posted on my profile page). I think I'll check out the Fall Harvest Shop Hop in a couple weeks as well. Any excuse to cruise around to the local shops!

Woohoo!!! All names are out!!
If you did not receive a name, please let me know. |

Also went to my quilt meeting today and was introduced to the Twister Tool that we were commenting on the other day. Purchased one of the patterns for it that came with a small Tool. We are making Twisted Trees. Looks like it will be fun. Those are really pretty, care to share the pattern? OR give us a tute on it? :) Be sure to show us your twisted tree too. That sounds very interesting??? |
Wow had to catch up again!!! I do not have a quilters calculator but have looked at them and wondered how hard they are to use. I love the idea of homemade buttons! I love chocolate of any kind, plus I love pretty smelling candles and stuff. I do not own an embroidery machine. My sewing room is decorated with Coca Cola items. I love Coke stuff. I hope I have given enough info to my secret santa!!! If I can help any more just let me know!!! Woohoo this is going to be so much fun!!!!!!!!! :)
