Good morning everyone then. Here (on the other side of the world) we've had a lovely sunny day, and I'm having another wine before attacking the dishes. All I want for Christmas is MORE TIME TO SEW!!!

You know, we have to "train" the newbies :D
I wonder how many will join us this year... My first SS was in 2009...

Tink's Mom 09-17-2013 05:40 AM

I agree with you m-fay...more time to sew is the best gift ever.
Glad you are having a lovely spring day after a miserable winter...enjoy your wine.

Leota 09-17-2013 05:41 AM

I have decided that between Hazel B. and me we don't need anything to add to the clutter BUT we do need more variety in our stash... solid colors, tone on tones and batiks.... we don't have much of those...
I love sharing my loot .... so that being said... Newbies... look around your stuff... is there something that you have that you don't use but it's still useful or still in original packaging...pass it on. Do you have multiples of the same tool...share :D
This swap doesn't need to brake the bank.... think outside the box....stay within your budget...most of all... HAVE FUN and pass the chocolate :D

Tink's Mom 09-17-2013 05:43 AM

Hi Leota!!! Glad you're back again this year....this year should be fun...although "some of us" have started misbehaving before the swap even begins.....

Dreamer have you decorated the naughty corner yet.... I think it should have quilt frames hung from the ceiling...so we can have a good ole fashion quilting bee why we sip our wine and eat homemade chocolates :D

Where's Sharon b???????

I noticed that... such a shame... their antics could give us good ones a bad name.... You know the saying... "birds of a feather flock together" .... that's very true.... Did you bring the eggnog spiked chocolate?

dreamer2009 09-17-2013 06:13 AM

Leota quilt racks are already hung :)
glad you are on board to join us again ;)

jaba 09-17-2013 06:57 AM

Thanks Cindy60545 for reminding me of this swap. Just sent in my info so now the wait for a name. I've been stocking up on wine so will have plenty to share. I took 120 lbs. of raspberries to a winemaker here so it should be ready in about a month. He makes yummy tasting "stuff". Got a machine and bag packed so I'm ready for the naughty corner, I kind of like it there, feels like home:D

Yup, I remember we spent a lot of time there last year!! Wine sure was good, made every one of those aches and pains go away.

always fun to start early.
builds the suspense.

Quilty-Louise 09-17-2013 08:33 AM

I have more time than I want for sewing, my MAJOR hold back
is the lack of giddy up go to get in there and do it.

I really wish I had a job that gave me more than 16 hours a week
for work, oh well happy to at least have what I am getting.

So love watching all the trouble.... ummm I mean mischief that SOME
of you are causing. It's a tough battle for me to not join in but I have
to wait to see just how many people end up in the naughty corner and
hole in the farmers pasture if everyone (or most of you at least) end up
there than I must try to find some trouble so I can join you I don't want
to be stuck sitting on the "good" side all alone.

I am not a wine or beer drinker, and I can't even tolerate the RARE comso,
or margarita any more (the alcohol makes me very sick to stomach now).
So I will just bring a few gallons of brewed tea with me sweetened & unsweet.

Although I am diabetic I just discovered the "Blue Bell" ice cream version of
"rocky road" talk about pure heavenly taste makes me want some right now.

Keep up the fun everyone, I enjoy reading you antics.

Louise

Leota 09-17-2013 08:46 AM

Louise,
I'm not a alcohol drinker either but I love the non-alcohol versions... they can't tell the difference :D...I'll set up the sweet bar across from the sour bar :D We can drink to our hearts content... It'll have gluten free, sugar-free=all natural no artificial, soy-free goodies too :D

sunrise450 09-17-2013 10:00 AM

I'm joining up! Just pm'd tlrnhi with information. It's nice to see so many names of people I have swapped with!

Just keep all that fake stuff on your side. No healthy stuff allowed on the alcohol side. :D
We want greasy potato chips, nachos, stuffed potato skins, and lots of unhealthy candy with our booze.:D

roseirish48 09-17-2013 01:06 PM

can i just stand equi-distant between the two tables and nibble on goodies from both? it's like the commercial for Mounds and Almond Joys--sometimes you feel like nut, sometimes you dont. Me--i'm always a nut but dont always stick to my diabetic diet.

Quilty-Louise 09-17-2013 01:20 PM

Me too!

I really NEED to start watching what I eat more, but it is so hard when my
husband doesn't think twice about buying stuff knowing that I can't have it.

My sister told me about a vitamin supplement (not even sure it is a vitamin)
but she has had fantastic results in it helping her A1c to lower, she has been
using it for over a year and just told me about it on Sunday, but have to call
her to find out the name again because I forgot what it was called.

quilt addict 09-17-2013 01:49 PM

Oh boy, oh boy it's here! I sent a PM and so glad to join the fun again this year. It is my favorite thing. I think I know where those bells are too. Now how to stay on the good list just long enough to make Santa happy!

Elisabrat 09-17-2013 02:23 PM

I snuck in under the radar I see :) you didn't know the Brat has been lurking here already signed up did you? ha! I see what goes on when everyone thinks I am off snoozing again. Party for 1 please? newby to the Secret Santa thing. I too am a fabric addict. I need to hang out at that bar with the other addicts if there is room that is! No sweets for Brat but if there is a SALTY CHEESE type table I could go there and be in heaven. Oh wait I would be able to look mostly. well that sucks. back to the fabric table I go. I was given some good ideas from Jaba today and I will work hard to make someone very happy. Now to figure out who that someone is? granny of 6 I could take care of your troubles easily :) not loaded up with tools and things but ah I am good at finding needful things.

sewnsewer2 09-17-2013 02:45 PM

Oh man if you'r

Louise, When you find out the name of the vitamins or what ever your sister recommended to you, could you post it on this board? My hubby and I are both dibetic. Sounds like something that we might try!
