My SS package is still on the floor, next to my computer desk. Phoebe STILL hasn't shown any interest in it. Guess I'd better be really careful, not to spill any food onto it, huh? ;)

Cheesehead 11-21-2013 10:52 AM

My package is sitting right next to me and it's sealed up tight as a drum. No corners to peek through and I can't determine what is in it by shaking it. I'm happy to just wait it out with the rest of you.

Sienna's GiGi 11-21-2013 11:41 AM

I apologize for getting on here so late. My month started and will end with inspections and generals running all over the place. I've received my secret Santa box and I've sent my box off. My Secret Santa sent me all kinds of things like candy, cute socks, fabric and lots of small gifts. My Granddaughter also got lip gloss, stickers, bath fizzies and of course all the candy. Thank you so much for the gifts. I am positive the recipient of my gift will be pleasantly surprised. God Bless.

Pat625 11-21-2013 01:09 PM

I forced to behave and not peel. :(. I've been in the hospital since Tuesday night for respiratory failure. The box sits quietly unmolested at home . Hope to get out on next few days and go hug and pat my special box. Save me a spot in the hole and some coconut rum!!!!

ckcowl 11-21-2013 01:11 PM

still patiently waiting to receive something- so far, empty mail boxes- but still have a couple weeks til opening day- maybe i'll get lucky. the post office says the one I sent has been received- I hope so, I've not seen any communication from my recipient= but maybe someone is keeping it as a surprise for her. :)

I hope your SS gift has been sent and gets to you, soon . . . and that your SSee will think to report in soon, on the receipt of the gift you sent. Maybe you can do a board search, to see if she's posting on other threads. If not, maybe she's out of town or something.

Cheesehead 11-21-2013 01:31 PM

Oh my gosh Pat, I'm praying for you to have a quick recovery. Looking forward to seeing you back in the hole with us enjoying that coconut rum.

Judylee2 11-21-2013 01:46 PM

Hey Pat625, I could go get your package and bring it to you in the hospital! It could talk to you and keep you company until you get out! On a serious note, I hope you heal quickly and get home to your own bed!

Yesterday, I was doing some grocery shopping and decided to buy a container of cottage cheese. Gave it a few good shakes, holding it kinda close to my ear. Noticed a man kinda watching me, so gave it another good shake. :) Dang! Wish I'd thought to sniff it, as well! :D

I had to laugh at this because... it reminds me of me! When I pick up cans of beans or tuna I shake them or tip them upside down once or twice to determine how much liquid is in the can. I can't seem to help doing it! On one hand I figure I'm paying for food not liquid... on the other hand I always hope nobody's watching.

i fixed the pic and edited the post.
sorry it took so long.

Well, furbabies & sniffing the groceries at the store. What interesting subjects we can come up with! No one says us quilters are normal!! LOL Well, it seems to be normal to us, though!
Tried quilting a quilt & the darn thing just isn't co-operating! I hate it when it doesn't behave!! Gonna have to really dig into my bag of tricks on this one!

Hint: You've already got your SS package, just begging you to open!!

tlrnhi 11-22-2013 06:59 AM

Remember....PM me when you receive your package.

That's exactly why I was doing it, too! Yep, tuna and any other canned meat gets shaken, as well. I also check all of the expiration dates on dairy items, to choose the freshest ones. Stores probably hate me. :D To my credit, I always return the rejects, neatly to the shelf. :) Needless to say, every egg is lifted and inspected.

blondeslave 11-22-2013 07:18 AM

I hope this doesn't give us away but these song lyrics refer to something that my SS and I have in common:

"All my friends know the low rider
The low rider is a little higher
Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer"

...

I was all set to Elmer's School Glue baste a top, yesterday. Got the final seams ironed, then pulled out the batting (Warm & White). Unfortunately, it was the end of the roll and lacking about 2" to be enough. No problem, as I had a brand new roll, still in the box. Opened the box and started to pull out the batting. Ran into a 'minor' problem. Got a good grip on the batting and started pulling . . . but my arms were too short, to get it out. Didn't want to pull it out onto the floor, so tried angling the box. . . but as soon as I'd pull it somewhat out and then try to get a grip farther down, the roll would slide back into the box. If I just kept pulling, the box slid forward, with the batting. Tried holding the box in place, with one extended leg/foot but since I'm only about 5'3", that didn't help much. :p Decided to wait for dh to get home, to hold the box in place. In hindsight, I should've just swung the box up onto the cutting table! :p Today, I'm gonna see if I can find a spot, to mount the roll onto the wall. Then I can just roll my cutting table up to it. Got that idea, from some wise person, on our QB! My old roll just sat on top of a shelving unit. Problem is finding empty wall space, long enough for the bolt.

Hmmmmmmm. Let's see . . . 'low rider' cars . . . nope. 'Low rider' jeans . . . heavens, no! 'Low rider' dogs? Nah, Phoebe's low but that little critter can run faster than I can. :D Okay, I admit this possibly isn't me. :D

On the other hand . . . maybe? :) But then on the third hand, it's probably a trick, so probably not. Hmmmmmmmmmmm. . . .

Oh YEAH...we who agonize over a point that is not perfect - quilting stitches that are not even - rip out any seam or quilt line that is just a smidge off - save scraps of fabric for decades because we might find a use for them --- hold onto a lovely fabric for years because we don't want to cut into it - will travel MILES if the destination has the word "quilt" in it -- have entire rooms in our homes dedicated to fabric.......oh YEAH - this is definitely the "normal" crowd !!! Where's the hole...i think i need a drink !!!!

'Cause I got friends in low places,
Where the coconut drowns,
And the rum chases my blues away,
And I'll be okay,

Oh, darn! What're you gonna do with that PB&J sammich, I sent? :(

Okay, I've gotta get off of this computer and do something constructive. :p

Judylee2 11-22-2013 10:57 AM

Over a window ,Neesie! I started doing that with my design wall because all other wall space is taken. Take pictures. Better yet have your DH film you trying to get that batting..hehehehehe ok, back to the hole! LOL

Pat Hugs to you and hope you are feeling better. We will make sure you have your package for opening day.

I have some friends in submarines, does that count for low places????? maybe it is me!

Clue for today: There is a lot of RR history in your area.

Over a window, huh? :p Yeah, I can just see that clip ending up on YouTube! :D

Nah, I'm gonna find a lower place on the wall for it, even if I have to rearrange the entire room! Actually, there's a spot next to my sewing machine, which MAY be wide enough. Will have to measure it . . . and make sure there are studs behind the wall, in the necessary places, to mount the rod holder things. Will have to get DH to help me move a few things around, first . . . but I think it'll work.

Thinking of filming goofy actions, I hope no one filmed me searching through the WalMart fleece throws, the other day. Was looking for the dachshund one (no luck), and had to lean waaaaaaay into the big box, to search through the others. It's a wonder I didn't topple into that box, head first. :o

HEHEHEHE! Neesie, I pushed my daughter into a giant box of Those humugous teddybears at a Sam's Club! She squeeled and thrashed about until she thought there could be a spider in the box! Then the fun began! Everytime she tried to get out, she slid back in! Yeppers! She is mine for sure. hehehehehe
