Grannof6, kudo's on the quilts & pillowcases! Your timing is just in time for the holidays & will cheer the recipients, I'm sure. Congrats on an early Christmas present of the new longarm too! I'm jealous! I'd like to upgrade to a bigger machine too, but haven't the moola.

Weatherman says we're supposed to get hit today with sleet & possibly snow tonight. Sleet mainly, with accumulations of 1/2" to 1" of ice on the roads. Sure glad GS doesn't have school this week, 'cuz the buses would have a hard time getting through. We'll just stay nice & cozy here at the homefront.

Hint for the day: You get way more snow that I do!

Thanks Cindy, we had to have them there in time for their party day in early Dec. Now I have to get busy on my own stuff. I am not sure I can afford this new longarm either, but I already have someone wanting to commission me to make a king size quilt. I figure if I can do a quilt or 2 a month, I will be able to pay it off without any problem.

We have 15 F here in East Gybip and quite windy. I haven't checked to see the weather forecast. I would just as soon not know.:D

I had better get the Irish Cream out to warm myself up from the inside. I don't drink coffee, so will just drink it plain.

You girls are good....I completely forgot that until I read this...
Although....the fact that we remember this.........?

Working on a donation quilt for someone in Washington, IL that lost everything in the tornado. I miscalculated when cutting and the twin/full quilt grew to a queen size. FM a queen size, on a mid arm machine is not fun...so, just too busy to stay and chat.

Thank you so much for the gifts. I am positive the recipient of my gift will be pleasantly surprised. God Bless.

Sorry you are so busy. You opened your package already? You'll miss the fun of all of us opening our at the same time. But each to their own.

No sewing for me today, I did get to finish the socks I was knitting, and a lot of cleaning!! Having my parents and youngest brother and fiancee for Thanksgiving on Thursday so must get the house clean and have to hide all my fabric.
My Package is not going to get stashed, for the day I will keep it right next to my chair, must keep it happy. I have some red wine is there any cake left???

What are tassies? I've not heard of them?

bezzie2013 11-25-2013 02:34 AM

HELP!!!!!!!! people have found out I am sewing for Christmas. Now I cant get my stuff done but one good thing my ss box got sent hope she really likes the stuff I put in there its a very heavy box. I haven't got my box just yet but I am sure that's a good thing it would drive me nutty not to get to open it.

bezzie2013 11-25-2013 02:43 AM

OMG I want to say I am so sorry to my SS I forgot to wrap my inside presents. I was in and out of the hospital so my mind wasn't working way back then.

Cindy60545 11-25-2013 03:17 AM

Morning all! After a quick peek out the window, am glad I don't have to go anywhere today. Ice is hanging off of just about everything outside! Our high today is only supposed to be 34 degrees. Gonna be in the 20's for lows most of the week also, with not much warm up til after Thanksgiving. It's ok, I have pumpkin pie to bake & other things to keep the oven going to help with the warmth in the house. Think we'll have baked acorn squash tonight with something else. When I need a break, I'll just pop into the hole for some libations!

Today's hint: your town isn't as big as a city, but you do have an airport.

m-fay 11-25-2013 05:22 AM

Recipe PLEASE? and snicker doodles

PenniF 11-25-2013 06:06 AM

Tassies are cookies that look and taste like mini pecan pies...You need a mini muffin pan to make them.
Recipe is:
Dough --
1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 3/4 cup butter, 1 egg, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, 2 cups all purpose flour.
Cream sugar, salt and butter. Add egg and vanilla. Stir in flour. Chill 1 hour
Filling --
1/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter
1 egg
1/2 cup Karo syrup - i use half dark and half light
1 tablespoon flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
Mix together all incredients in order.
TO MAKE -- roll dough into about 1 inch balls - roll balls in granulated sugar - put each into mini muffin tin and press to form a little "cup" of dough. Add filling - about 1/2 to 2/3 full
BAKE in preheated 350 degree oven for 10-15 minutes -- remove from pan immediately.(they should pop right out)

HOPE YOU ENJOY....

PenniF 11-25-2013 06:07 AM

Tassies---- the butter in the dough recipe should say "room temperature/softened" sorry!!

Yummy!!! Those cookies are for those of us in the hole, right? :)

Retired Fire Chief 11-25-2013 06:32 AM

Your cookies look amazing, you have been very busy. I have been trying to catch up on everyone's posts, read back about 7-8 pages, it's hard to keep up. We were without power for a couple of days and I have been busy making a dozen thread catchers for my girlfriends when we get together for our cookie swap in Dec. And I'm busy making a couple of things for my son-to-be new grandson's shower on Dec. 7 so I haven't been on the computer much. Looks like everyone is having fun. I've done a little of looking around trying to figure out who my secret santa is but with no luck. Anyway, that darn box is driving me nuts, even though I am super busy that box is like a bug sitting on my shoulder!
