Don't worry about it... They will understand... the fact that you were able to play is enough....
I didn't wrap my pressies in my SS box either because I've been so busy with my dh who is now in ICU because of metabolic acidosis.

My box will be mailed out on the 29th as that is payday for us...it will get to it's final destination on time with a few days to spare :D

Oh this could be me!!!!!!!

jaba 11-25-2013 07:28 AM

Mine aren't wrapped either. Had all of the things in the box, then took them out and wrapped each one...oops they didn't fit. So I unwrapped, put it all in the box again and sent. Thought she would rather have the gifts than the wrapping paper.

Leota 11-25-2013 07:29 AM

Penni... your reindeer cookies are adorable! do you bake the eyes, nose and antlers with the cookies or press them on while still warm?
I think I'll make some of these for my Awana class ( children's Bible class) :D

OH Yes..it's Tassies time again - every year I bake about 50 dozen to give a gifts to folks who wait all year for them. Thank GOODNESS for the Pampered Chef tassie cup molder stick I got 2 years ago !! It was agony when I had to push the dough into the tins with my thumbs !!!

You need that special tool! I made four dozen, hand formed. I make an indentation first with a round spoon handle which does speed the process. I enjoy pressing each one by hand, but do make sure I have plenty of time before beginning!

Judylee, I usually take two or three bites to eat one, but am sure someone has eaten them in just one luscious bite!

CookyIN 11-25-2013 07:52 AM

I got a PM requesting the Pecan Tassies recipe, and since mine is different from the one posted (fewer ingredients), I promise to post it here NLT sometime tomorrow. Wish I could dip into that fabulous cookie assortment! Not sure what I'd choose first... a wedding cake... or one with the Christmas M&Ms... ahh, to be able to choose!

I wonder if a person could use some sort of condiment cup, to press the dough into the muffin cups. Coffee measure? Measuring spoon? Maybe even use another muffin tin, nested into the one with dough. So many possibilities . . . and I do hope the Grammar Police don't see this post! :D

Boy I think I am glad I missed the hole this weekend. Everything sounds wonderfully delicious. Wish I could say I was busy but not that much. Just made apple butter this weekend. Shook my box a couple of times and still no idea but it is heavy. It is right next to my chair so I can keep an eye on it.

Hint for today: Many that serve are nearby.

pyffer3 11-25-2013 12:54 PM

My husband hid my ss gift :( Said I was gonna break something if I shook it one more time! Oh well. How about some spiked eggnog down in that hole? Maybe just the spike part? I promise to TRY to be a good girl!

When I was growing up we had a neighbor that was straight from Poland...she baked all the time. She made a cheesecake in mini tins like this...and she used a very interesting tool to put the dough in place. She washed a beer bottle with the beer in it...and wrapped a cotton dishcloth around the cap and neck. Rubberband in place...dip this in flour and then into the dough...worked like a charm.
She never had any grandchildren so had adopted us...we were in and out of her kitchen all the time.

Kequilts 11-25-2013 02:05 PM

I returned from vacation in the Bahamas today and received my SS gift from faraway Montana!!! Thank you to my Secret Santa friend. It was a wonderful treat, considering we had to go from 80 degree weather to 30 degree weather overnight :( boo hoo. Looking forward to the opening on the 8th! Now we're on to planning a big Thanksgiving dinner for my hubby's side of the family. I'll spend the whole week counting blessings, including the chance to join in on fun stuff like this!! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! K.

The last year I made tassies without my special pressing tool - I woke up the next morning and my thumb had swelled to twice it's normal size !!! :(

Just got a package from a dear friend of mine, today. It was Phoebe's new holiday shirts! For your entertainment, here are pictures of her, modeling them. Not the greatest photos, as I had to keep shoving her back onto the sofa, so had the camera way too close! :D

Dang! the Helicopter that is circling outside is on its 10 trip over my house. I think it is Neesie's grammar police after me. I am hiding with my box, shakin'. rattlin'. and ummmmmmmmm.....I should have rushed into the hole for the cookies and Tassies. Now I have to wait for the helicopter to leave! lol! Good night all. Can't wait till opening day!

Neesie 11-25-2013 04:23 PM

Thanks for the compliments, on Phoebe's new outfits. :) My friend, Diane, has been custom making doggie clothes and harnesses, for years. She just started making the pull-overs (like the red shirt), so Phoebe gets to model one of the first samples! :) The paw print shirt fastens with wide velcro, underneath. Diane and her hubby also do darling wood crafts. I have such talented friends! :)

I bet it was good Polish or German beer with the round or corked tops. I think a bottle of champagne would work also:thumbup: And we can drink it when you are through with it.

Bezzie, you should contact Terri and let her know you haven't yet received your package. They were supposed be mailed out by Nov. 14th, so should have all arrived by now.

"1. Mail deadline is November 14th. That is a HARD deadline. No mailing AFTER this time. Since you have almost 2 months, there should be NO excuse for mailing late, unless you are incapacitated or 6 feet under."

still nothing for me either- you are not alone-- I didn't want my recipient to have any worries-so made sure I had mine out on the 12th...and she has received it- I go to the post office every day thinking...maybe today? maybe before the 'opening day' ? maybe there's a reason I had stopped participating in swaps/exchanges/projects on this board a couple years ago...here I am again- 2 separate programs- both not going so well. my fall/winter of frustration.

createfourpaws 11-26-2013 03:30 AM

I see that my SS packagae was delivered, but haven't seen the reciepent post she received her package.

Cindy60545 11-26-2013 03:32 AM

Morning all! I'm hearing a Christmas song in my head this morning.....let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Yep, that's what we're waking up to this morning! It's not sticking & should end not long after daybreak, which is fine by me! Glad I don't have to go anywhere today, that's for sure!!

Today's hint: You live in the southern portion of your state.

nygal 11-26-2013 05:43 AM

We did get a few inches of snow over night and we expect more today...and tomorrow...jingle bells.

Quilty-Louise 11-26-2013 05:54 AM

I set my alarm (Tuesday & Wednesday only normally) to start on a
radio station. They have already (not sure when they started) the
Christmas music.

Several years ago they started playing the Christmas music the beginning
of November. I tried to listen but got real sick of hearing it within a couple
weeks. Than they started playing it about the beginning of the second week
of OCTOBER! I quit listening to the radio station completely from the time
it starts until after Christmas; except at the company holiday party at the
office then I concede and crank up the music so everyone gets in the mood
and has a good time at the party watching the kids run around and play.

I haven't received my parcel yet, but I did receive parcel notices yesterday in my mailbox, so I'll be going to pick them up tomorrow morning. I sure hope one of them is from my secret santa!

Unless you have an international partner, there's really no good excuse for this. :( We've had plenty of time to gather the goodies and mail our packages. Seriously, y'all need to notify Terri and find out if the packages have even been mailed, yet. {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}

::::::::::trying to be positive and prevent fingers from typing anything, which might be construed as 'offensive'::::::::

Tink's Mom 11-26-2013 06:35 AM

Girls...If your package hasn't been received yet, you need to let Terri know. This gives her a bit of time to search for it....you never know...someone may have had it detoured to another quilter's home.

rwquilts 11-26-2013 07:04 AM

Bezzie and Ckcowl...so sorry you girls are still waiting. I know that's frustrating when everyone's talking about how heavy, or jingly their packages are, etc. I did read a few pages back that one gal isn't sending hers out until the 29th...was a bit surprised at that ( I specifically mailed my package super early for this exact reason). I wonder how many are still waiting for packages? It sort of makes it less fun for me, knowing others aren't having a good time and I feel really, really bad. I am sooo sorry. :( I am sending you both SUPER HUGE ( ( ( ( HUGS ) ) ) ) !!!!!!!
