OMG Knittee I am sure your package is on its way I have faith in the person who was to send it. I have not received my package just yet either so it will be ok if neither of us gets one soon we will just have an opening day of our own and open a bottle of rum.

Dedemac 11-27-2013 06:12 PM

My cleaning is almost done, been doing little bits over the past 5 days, this way I didn't have to take time off work to clean!! Making turkey, stuffing, potatoes with gravy and cranberries but that is as far as the traditional part goes. Also having a Raspberry Spinach salad, Butternut carrot soup and sauteed Asparagus. Just the thought of sweet potatoes, old fashion Macaroni and cheese and green bean casserole just sounded to heavy! Hope everyone has a great turkey day. Drive safe if you have to go any place. I want you back here on the 8th so I can have fun!!! Judylee2 I have a extra bottle of Schnapps for opening day!

ljs317 11-27-2013 07:33 PM

Happy thanksgiving everybody!!

Hope your day is filled with love and thankfulness for your family and friends.

For years we would have Turkey and Tension with my MIL .

Painiacs 11-27-2013 07:47 PM

Happy Thanksgiving! Hope all the wayward packages arrive soon! :-)

Painiacs 11-27-2013 08:15 PM

I received my pkg! Sorry didnt post! Hubby got gravely ill last month, almost didnt make it few times! He made it out of hospital and got sent to nursing home for rehab, they did let him out for dd wedding, he walked errr hobbled her down the aisle- not a dry eye in audience! Then when he danced with her I cried! Then when he danced with me my kids bawled! Was very memorable!
He was released today! Things will be hectic until we figure out a routine but will take it one day at a time! So thank you SS!
Happy Thanksgiving!!! :-)

Luckily in my part of NY we only are getting rain and it's not freezing. Hopefully we wont' get ice or snow!!

I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving...we have much to be thankful for. And a special shout out to my SS and to the one I sent to. You both know who you are...oh yea..maybe you don't! In time you will. :D

Glad you are on the mend. Just curious...wonder if anyone ever heard of a chest rub called quiachol? Growing up if we came down with a chest cold Mom would steam our chest then rub it with quiachol (sp?) And cover our chest with a heavy towel under a t-shirt. Kid you not...the next morning we were well! Haven't been able to find any for years.

:D :D :D :D

I did, in fact, drive very close to your house with my big rig once. I was picking up apples from some of the orchards there in the Yakima valley. Don't remember where I took them to though. But, that was long before I knew you. Had I known you then, you bet I'd have stopped in! I'd have managed to stay over somehow so we could have had a lengthy visit!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Turkey's in the oven & starting to smell good. Gotta get the rest of this feast ready to finish up shortly.

Clue: Only 8 days til opening! WOOHOO!!!!

Judylee2 11-28-2013 10:31 AM

Smack! Burp! Snore!:p In just that order!
Everything came out wonderful! The dishes are all done and the food...um leftovers are put away and I don't have to cook again for at least 4 days, LOL!!!LOLOL!! Cindy, 8 more days, WOOOOOHOOOO! I have been rattling my boxes and listening for bells. The one from you has tooooooo many bells. I can't hear anything else. My SS's box is too quiet, I rattle and shoake and ...NOPE....Nothin...so I shake harder. OH NO! What if it is breakable, I think I will have proven that one. :shock:oooooops:shock:

nygal 11-28-2013 11:03 AM

Our turkey won't be done for another hour and a half. The house sure smells wonderful!! Waiting for my brother and his three sons to get here then every one will be here. I am glad it's a nice sunny day here and NO snow.

Pat625 11-28-2013 11:55 AM

Still waiting to eat. taking it easy, especially since my ankles decided to swell up...smells so good I may have to go pick. For those still waiting- Last year I got a package at the last minute. It was sent on time, but from overseas..was sure worth the wait!! Enjoy and relax all!!

Judylee2 11-28-2013 12:59 PM

Hey does anybody know if it is possible for Lemon Merange Pie to have cellulite even before we eat it?

madamekelly 11-28-2013 01:04 PM

I think my SS sent me catnip. DH's cat, Miss Kitty has fallen in love with the box! She keeps giving it snuggies!

Judylee2 11-28-2013 03:09 PM

Miss Kitty may get desparate! Better guard her well or she might do snuggies and then the claws (no Claus) will come out and OH NO! go Konfu Kitty on it! hehehehe, that's one way to check out what is in your box early!!!!!

Yours too?? Mischief has been rubbing against mine since I got it! There must be something in there for her! Hasn't clawed it yet though, durn it!

Dedemac 11-28-2013 05:57 PM

The bird is done, family is gone and a favorite movie in on the telly. Was a good day but now time for a nip and some more pie!! DH moved my package when he cleaned. Need to put it back next to my chair so I can pet it. It's glaring at me from across the room.

Carol of the Bells.
Hark how the bells,
sweet silver bells,
all seem to say,
throw cares away
Christmas is here,
bringing good cheer,
to young and old,
meek and the bold.
Ding dong ding dong
that is their song
with joyful ring
all caroling.
One seems to hear
words of good cheer
from everywhere
filling the air.
Oh how they pound,
raising the sound,
o’er hill and dale,
telling their tale.
Gaily they ring
while people sing
songs of good cheer,
Christmas is here.
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas,
Merry, Merry, Merry, Merry Christmas.
On on they send,
on without end,
their joyful tone
to every home.
Ding ding… dong!

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear.
It came upon a midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth,
To touch their harps of gold:
“Peace on the earth, goodwill to men,
From heaven’s all-gracious King.”
The world in solemn stillness lay,
To hear the angels sing.
Still through the cloven skies they come,
With peaceful wings unfurled,
And still their heavenly music floats
O’er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lowly plains,
They bend on hovering wing,
And ever o’er its Babel sounds
The blessèd angels sing.
Yet with the woes of sin and strife
The world has suffered long;
Beneath the angel-strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love-song which they bring;
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing.
And ye, beneath life’s crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow,
Look now! for glad and golden hours
come swiftly on the wing.
O rest beside the weary road,
And hear the angels sing!
For lo!, the days are hastening on,
By prophet bards foretold,
When with the ever-circling years
Comes round the age of gold
When peace shall over all the earth
Its ancient splendors fling,
And the whole world give back the song
Which now the angels sing.

Up on the House Top.
Up on the housetop
Reindeer pause,
Out jumps good old Santa Claus.
Down thru’ the chimney
With lots of toys,
All for the little ones,
Christmas joys.
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn’t go!
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn’t go!
Up on the housetop,
Click, click, click,
Down thru’ the chimney
With good Saint Nick.
First comes the stocking
Of little Nell,
Oh, dear Santa
Fill it well;
Give her a dolly
That laughs and cries
One that will open
And shut her eyes.
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn’t go!
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn’t go!
Up on the housetop,
Click, click, click,
Down thru’ the chimney
With good Saint Nick.
Next comes the stocking
Of little Will,
Oh just see
What a glorious fill
Here is a hammer
And lots of tacks,
Also a ball
And a whip that cracks.
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn’t go!
Ho, ho, ho!
Who wouldn’t go!
Up on the housetop,
Click, click, click,
Down thru’ the chimney
With good Saint Nick.

It is 1:45 am, and I just got the last guest sent home. Whew! I am going to sleep for a week. I am usually in bed by 10:00 at the latest! Good night nurse!

Cindy60545 11-29-2013 01:59 AM

Morning all! Dreamer! It's good to see you back with your carols! And the picture is awesome! You've been way too silent this year!
Thanksgiving is over, leftovers are in the fridge. DH decided to go to Wallyworld for a new TV for the living room since the sale was so good. I didn't inform him it was a Black Friday sale he was getting into. Bad me! But he came home with the TV, so good for him! Now we've got a 32" flat screen in the living room to watch. Guess that's my Christmas present.
Today's hint: Nine days to go til opening! You'll be opening in a different time zone than me.

Judylee2 11-29-2013 02:27 AM

Dang! Cindy , yesterday you said it was 8 days till openong! Geez! Now I have to go count for myself.LOL! As far as the lemon merange pie....when I cut into it to serve it, the innards looked like cellulite before the first bite was taken. I will not use corn starch again in my pies! I drained it in the sink and then it was ok! Tasted really good though!
Come one Cindy, Lets go buzz Sulabug and Huntannette on our Super Deluxes! weeeeeeeeeeeeee!

OOOH! Sounds like fun! We can get away from our DH's for a little while & enjoy ourselves buzzing all the SS's! Of course, that's after we warm ourselves with some of the Schnapps down in the hole!

ljs317 11-29-2013 06:47 AM

Once again dreamer you have outdone yourself. Lovely singing and an outstandingly beautiful pic.

Pat get those feet put up today and rest.

Pass the schnapps please.

Question about the "up on the housetop" song? Why does little Nell only get one toy while little Will gets four toys. Does that seem far??? Just saying

tlrnhi 11-29-2013 07:12 AM

It seems as if Canadian/US Customs is holding packages for a bit?
Don't know.
All of the packages except for a couple are in and out of Canada.

Knitette...yours is on it's way, should be there hopefully this week. Packages going across the pond are going faster.

........... in record time too! Thank you very much Santa. I know I don't deserve such a HUGE box even though I've been very good and stayed out of that hole full of all those naughty people ;)

Terri - your mailbox is full

Judith1005 11-29-2013 07:37 AM

Oh wow dreamer, this is a beautiful photo.

Thank you for starting the Christmas carols! I never tire of hearing the songs. (At least during the holiday season. :D)

Knitette, that puppy looks too much like my babies on bath day! They both get excited for the mailman, UPS man, and of course the USPS Man, and FedEX guy, LOL!

I sure hope the customs release your packages soon girls. This isn't very fun for the gals waiting.
Terri ... You are one great hostess for staying on top of all of this chaos. Hugs...

RedGarnet222 11-29-2013 08:48 AM

Dreamer! Oh thank you so much!!! I love reading the carols and seeing the wonderful pictures you post every year . So sweet of you to put us all into the christmas spirit.

tlrnhi 11-29-2013 08:54 AM

Ok, for those trying to send me PMs, I've dumped some things in my Inbox and Outbox. Hopefully that'll do the trick.

Mine, too...Tink gets really excited for the UPS man....she wants a piece of him. Don't know why, but he is the only one she goes insane about. Must be the truck...besides, he is afraid of her. (for those who don't know...Tink is a Chihuahua)

Tink's Mom 11-29-2013 09:00 AM

Thanks, Dreamer...we love your singing! Do you take requests? How about White Christmas? I'm thinking I should dedicate it to SharonB....after all the lake effect snow that I sent her way. HEHEHE
