SS hint- I have lived in your state's prettiest city, and also in your state's largest city. Way to hot for me, so I came home to Oregon.

Cindy60545 12-02-2013 03:16 AM

Good morning all! 6 days left til the opening!! I see we still have 2 without boxes, probably caught up in customs or something. One of the Santas did post that she wasn't mailing til 11/29, so who ever gets that box should get it today, I would think. As long as all have arrived by this weekend, we'll be fine. Just means those boxes won't torture you as long as some have, but they'll torture you just the same til opening time.
Had a lovely evening last night at a friends house. We had a chili chowder & cornbread dinner then sat around the bonfire with hot chocolate roasting marshmellows. Our two hubbys finally got to meet one another too. With both of them being truck drivers, seems they're never home at the same time. Both of us girls used to drive, but now we handle our sewing machines instead of those big rigs! Took me awhile to get used to staying home all the time, but now I don't even think about going back on the road. Anyway, we had a nice time over there. Today is our guilds Christmas luncheon, so will be gone most of the day. The quilt I've been trying to quilt just won't co-operate, so the gal who's quilt it is & I are going to stop at the LQS & get new backing for it, take it over to someone else's home & see if I can't get it quilted on her longarm. I wish it were just a simple panto, but no....it's custom, so it'll take me awhile to get it done. Only lucky thing about it is that I've done it's twin, so I know what I did on that one & can pretty much duplicate it. Wish me luck!!!!!

Today's hint: Your state is purported to have a lot of rain, but you're on the wrong side to get a lot of it!

Those in the hole have sure been quiet lately. Must be saving it up for OPENING DAY! It is just around the corner. Not soon enough for me. I am sure there are some pretties in my package. I have another little box to send to my SS pal. It will be something to share on opening day that had to be refrigerated for longer storage so want it to be nice a fresh for opening party celebrations!

buddy'smom 12-02-2013 11:47 AM

I most likley won't join in on the fun, I'm now caring for my three week old Grandson, and between him and my knee surgery just getting done, not much time for anything right now, but hope you all have a super time.

ArizonaKAT 12-02-2013 12:04 PM

Here's a hint to my SS. Don't get the box too close to the fur babies.

Pat625 12-02-2013 01:49 PM

Been pretty quiet...still trying to recover from pneumonia. Everyone available, there will be a meeting in the hole- bring booze and junk food. We only have a week left to plan the package inspection before opening day. Of course we need to make sure everything is appropriate for the boxes, and confiscate anything debatable.

Chester the bunny 12-02-2013 02:18 PM

Sannntttaaaaaaaaa!!!!
It's here! It's here!
It's a little banged up from it's long trip, but Canada Post wrapped it in a plastic bag to keep everything safely in there.
Thank you my USA Santa, I look forward to opening day! (Oh my goodness, the postage alone made me want to send YOU a gift)

Big hug to my Santa!

Judylee2 12-02-2013 02:25 PM

Very nice, Amy! Maybe we should start a treadling club. There is also a website Treadleon.com is nice too.

Judith1005 12-02-2013 02:45 PM

We're so close to opening day. Here's a hint for my Secret Santa. Confession, I had to send 2 packages. I could not get it all to fit into one. I tried, but it did not work out for me. Do you think you can stand opening up 2 packages?!:D

tlrnhi 12-02-2013 04:32 PM

Well? There are 4 packages still out there. Hopefully they will all make it to where they need to go. One should be delivered tomorrow or Wed and 2 others are destined for Friday. The 4th one is on it's way from Canada, so since Chester the Bunny's got released from jail, I mean Customs, maybe #4 will be too!

bezzie2013 12-02-2013 04:51 PM

Still no box here but who knows maybe tomorrow

Likethedog 12-02-2013 05:12 PM

Is it Dec. 8 yet???

tlrnhi 12-02-2013 05:26 PM

I have all these little packages just telling me to open them. Hmmm....I really should open them, they are a bit noisy. Opening them would quiet it down a bit in here. What ya think? Should I do it?

Help! My package is tempting me!, The soft bubble bag just isn't sealed all over and I can see this nice corner that is just perfect for something to catch on it and open it:eek:. The package has started to change positions and is crying to be opened:(:(! I have been trying to be nice and pay attention to it so it wont be lonely. What can I so to make it behave!

tlrnhi 12-02-2013 06:01 PM

I'm thinking I should. They are yelling to get out! How can I NOT let them out?

Havent been in the hole for the past week. Instead I have been sent outside to sit in the woods and look for those big horned deer here. I was real bad while in the hole. No just joking. Its hunting season here and working on filling up the freezer for the family. We have to eat even though we are in the hole. I will resume my position in the hole at the end of the week in time for opening day. Then back out to the woods for me for bear season.

I have a great recipe for deer steaks on the grill!

I think I need a intervention!

Trying to ignore the voice from the package I have been doing miniatures squares from the scraps of a mystery top I did last year. Coasters here you come, they are made from1.5 inch squares finished to 4.5!

They aren't living here anymore. And if they were, they'd want to open them. Lucas kitty is already trying to open them to let whatever is in them out.

Big hug to my Santa!

I know what you mean - I nearly fainted when I saw how much mine was to post. The postage alone was more than I think DH is going to spend on me, lol!

Morning all! Terri, your just as bad as the rest of us! Down in the hole you go with the naughty group! You know we're not opening til Sunday at 4 pm your time!! Kitty's will just have to be corralled to keep them away from all those little pressies! Stuff them in a box & put them aside til Sunday! Then you can join us in all the fun of opening them with us.

We had our guild Christmas luncheon yesterday. Looked like Thanksgiving all over again! What a spread of food we all put together. I'm surprised my pants still fit after all the turkey I've eaten in the last week!! A couple of us went over to our LQS for their sale & I picked up some delicious batiks in purple I think I'll make into a New York Beauty wallhanging. Should be absolutely gorgeous! Ever since I did a Judy Niemyer pattern I've gotten into paper piecing & just love the way they come out.

Hint today: My SS person has been known to do paper piecing! I've seen some of it here on the board.

m-fay 12-03-2013 04:21 AM

Very nice & usefull too

CookyIN 12-03-2013 04:38 AM

Hey hey hey... only 5 more days!

tlrnhi 12-03-2013 05:28 AM

Knitette...that's a nice dream you were having there.
Cindy...I need a BIG box! There's lots of little packages!

catpawski 12-03-2013 05:45 AM

5 more days..................can I wait.............it sure is getting harder waiting..........but once I open the package my boy Dylan won't have anyplace to sit.............I find my cat sitting on the box all the time.............wonder what's inside.........

Whoever received my package I hope they wanted a pincushion.............I found a couple of ceramic egg holders at a fleamarket........I knew just what I wanted to do with them....................pincushions........it was a lady..............with a hat...........the hat was made of felt that covered a soft boiled egg ........well I stuffed the hat and put stuffing in the indentation of the ladies head where the egg is placed.........I then glued the hat to the head..........and what do you know..........a pincushion.................it is so cute............now don't everyone rush to their packages to see where the package was sent...........the return address is not mine but a good friends.........so that address is not close to mine...........:D

Now that is just one of the many items I sent...........and not the only thing I made............

Am I being a big tease or what.................

tlrnhi 12-03-2013 05:48 AM

I had to go and see who the lucky person is going to be to get that pin cushion. It sounds cute!
I'm sure the person getting it will love it!

Judith1005 12-03-2013 06:45 AM

Good Morning Secret Santas, I am starting to get excited. But, I can tell you, My MOTHER is so excited to see what is in the box. lol, she is terrible about teasing me with it. :D I can't get her to play here on the board, but she loves to share what I do. (I don't mind.) We have lots of fun quilting together.

I just want to let my Secret Santa know, that I will be joining the party a little late. I have to work till 5 pm central time. But, I will be baking cookies this week and my mom and I will join the party just as soon as we can. :)

Oh Terri, if I were you, you might want to be careful. Because whatever is making ALL that noise in the packages to get out, you might actually want in the package still. Or at least for a little bit longer. lol :D Hmm, I wonder what has flown Terri's way?!

ljs317 12-03-2013 06:46 AM

I could use( make that really want) that little lady pincushion. Here's hoping its in my box...

However I will be scouring thrift shops to find something similar so I can made my own. Love this idea!

Moved my SS box to clean for Thanksgiving and Now can't remember where I put it. Out of sight out of mind so I thought but sometime I think I can still hear that little jingle it makes. On the search for it tonight as soon as I get home from work.

Chester the bunny 12-03-2013 09:25 AM

My package came with a customs declaration.............
You know, the list includes the usual - fabric - book.... but ever since I picked it up yesterday I have been pacing around the package because it came from WI and the declaration mentions something about CHEESE.
Do I put the package outside? But it's well below freezing........
I can't put it inth fridge, I have no room.........
Then I wanted to pull a Neesie and sniff the package...
Oh well I just won't put it near the fireplace and patiently wait for opening day :o)

Hmmm...unusual for a hound to not sense if there's anything in a sealed box intended for them. Perhaps you could accidently drop something on the box that she REALLY likes and she would be willing to help you out.
