That rock in the corner is getting a little crowded , especially since we are consuming so many goodies! Who wants to hop on my super delux broom and go raiding but watch out for some strange reason people below think we are witches.hehehehe. Poof I will turn them into frogs! Neesie, help! I can't seem to put the tape on the goodies, my fingers are stuck together. HEHEHE!

CookyIN 10-12-2013 02:22 PM

Oh no! I just checked my calendar and Monday is Columbus Day. Post office will be closed so no mailing 'til Tuesday.

sewnsewer2 10-12-2013 03:15 PM

I'm starting to worry...I thought the mail date was in Nov, did I miss something???

Short an Sweet 10-12-2013 03:20 PM

1. Mail deadline is November 14th. That is a HARD deadline. No mailing AFTER this time. Since you have almost 2 months, there should be NO excuse for mailing late, unless you are incapacitated or 6 feet under.

Will your super broom hold two of us? And what's this with your fingers being stuck together? Does that mean you can't guard your fabric stash? Oooooooh, unguarded faaaaaaaaaaaabric! :shock: Oooops! Didn't mean to type that out loud!

I'm off to the airing of the quilts today. Anyone care to join me?

I would love some home made fudge. It brings back memories when I was living with my grandmother and all of us would pitch in and make so much fudge no one would go with out. I like most everything just NO coconut please.....I have been putting things in my SS box and think it is time to look and see what is in there and what I need to find or make to put it in.

not yet :)

Dedemac 10-12-2013 05:44 PM

For all the girls in the hole I have a 1/2 of a black box of Merlot I can toss it in if you want to have some before the raid? As for treats in the box I'm game for what ever is in my box. To my SS would you like some Krumkaka or Almond cookies? I'm enjoying watching you from the cheep seats up here, if you have any extra fabric just drop it on the edge here before you get back in the hole.

Airwick156 10-12-2013 05:46 PM

Easy fudge

1 lb box confectioners sugar
1 8oz package philly cream cheese softened
1-12 oz package any flavor chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Stir together the cream cheese and confectioners sugar mixing well. Pour in nuts stir well. Melt chocolate chips in microwave in 30 seconds intervals stirring after each 30 seconds. When fully melted pour into mixture stirring quickly. Spread out on a lightly greased cookie sheet cut when cool.

Also, as I understand it, the FQ's are not included in the money portion of your ss gift.
Good morning everyone, have a great day!

Oh, two boxes. Twice the fun. I think I may know what this is although I am not going to say since it may ruin things for the person getting it. I will just have to wait like everyone else in order to find out.

As far as baked items. Not a problem with me as long as it doesnt go bad. It may however be a problem for my tushy and hips as they dont seem to like goodies that make them swell. LOL No problem, send them anyway, I just wont let them see them.

Also, $20.00 in fabrics would be just fine with me. I love fabric and could use some. I have depleated most of my stash making items for the show last month.

Was putting my SS package together and realized I'm out of packing tape! Gotta go to the store Monday.

As far as sweets, remember its hot here in FL. But I love carmel!!! LOL

For my SS I LOVE milk & dark chocolate (don't like white chocolate)
but sadly I must request NO sweets. I am diabetic, and I have less
willpower for leaving sweets alone than I do for buying fabric (HONEST
I can sometimes go for at least 2 weeks without buying at least 1 FQ).

Something I discovered that I would like to get someday is a product called
Hugo's Amazing Tape, a friend of mine got a roll of it from her husband as part
of her "gag" birthday gift and she swears by the stuff. She gave me a 6" piece
to try and not I am loving it too.

Called around to all my local stores and none of them have any in stock
although a couple do carry it they are out and not sure when it will be
in again.

So that is another "idea" for my SS just in case you needed to figure something
out for me.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now on a much sadder note, our beloved Bandi (oldest fur kitty age 14) has
been diagnosed with severe heart trouble, there could be surgery, but the kind
of heart problem she has would require EXTENSIVE tests to determine which
route they would feel best to go. We can't afford to have all the tests and surgery
so we have opted to do our best to keep her comfy and as pain free as we can
and make more memories with her.
Ok as long as I don't need my oven. It isn't working:(
Hi everyone! I am home for the night and no time to catch up on ALL the msg. I am vending at a quilt show here in Iowa and the vendor next to me has given me a DEAL on fabric! Ah-ha I knew that would get your attention! (Fabric and deal in the same sentence). 24 batik fat quarters for $20 all bagged and ready to go. She only had 4 bags and ONE of them is mine for a special secret pal! They are beautiful. I can't wait to start wrapping. I was all excited telling my husband and his eyes glazed over-men just don't understand fabric deals!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Decided that the fudge idea is great, but may stick with the fluffanutter recipe, since the one posted uses cream cheese, and not sure how well it will travel.Hoping to get out tomorrow to finish my shopping, Also want to cut out to start a lone star quilt for my DD for Christmas. SInce 6 grands show up here 6 weeks ago, I never seem to get a thing done--one is 6 months old and one is 2!! Hoping to find daycare for them since it's hard to keep up with them attached to oxygen!! They might be able to go home after the holidays, but I have so much to do before then!!
Tothill 10-12-2013 08:38 PM
Wow, I have read from page 50 to 150 today between baking and prepping for Canadian Thanks Giving tomorrow. Still way behind.
I did about 8 pages ago list some ideas for my SS. I definitely was MIA when my computer was in the shop.
I do not have any twister tools I really like the look of some of the quilts made with them.
I do not have a fabric calculator.
I would be just as happy with 1/4 yards cut skinny.
I enjoy mystery, romance, historical novels, well everything that is not scary. I buy almost all the books I read at the Thrift Shop, so preloved is not an issue.
My recipient lives in a state I have not visited (I have only been to 10 so far), but I do have distant family in her state. Maybe I will get there one day to meet them. But I have family in at least 5 states, which one could it be?
I think the hole is the place to be. Once I finish reading the rest of the pages I will take a closer look. I do not think my laptop will pick up wifi down there.
Actually I could eat virtual Mrs Vickies Sweet Chili chips down there. I have managed to only eat two bags of them since August 9. (mmmm the big bags not the snack size). This is a huge accomplishment for me, I had been eating a bag each and every week and I have the extra weight to prove it. So no chips in my package, but sweets are okay (I share sweets, but not my chips).
My recipient has not posted here, but who I am to complain after being MIA for almost 2 weeks. I will keep stalking her otherwise I have been shopping for months and I would like everything I have bought so I think she will too.
I will try to catch up some more tomorrow after work and Thanks Giving Dinner.
I'm so sorry about your sad news. For what it's worth, I think you've made the right decision. Going through that kind of surgery at 14 would be very difficult. Bandi will know that she's loved and cherished until she's called home, and really, who could want for more than that?
She's right, I do have a class A CDL license. And I know the way to her house VERY well! I can also get my hands on a tractor/trailer to haul all her fabric too! Course, I might just pack all her stuff up & move her closer to me while I'm at it! I miss seeing her!
Been making some things for my Santaee. I know they like homemade, so am filling up the box with unique things that I know she'll enjoy. Clue for the day? You have lots of pine trees in your state.
I certainly will! I've had a bit of bad luck with swapping so I take a picture of everything I swap. It's a way to keep a record anyway, especially if you happen to get the same swapper twice. I would hate to send the same thing to the same swapper. Make sence?
Louise, I'm so sorry! Bless you, for thinking of her comfort, above your own. I would do the same and let her go peacefully, rather than subject her to extensive tests and surgery. I feel animals deserve peace, not more pain. {{{{{hugs}}}}}
