Happy Christmas everyone. Stay safe all of you In the path of that expected blizzard.
|
I have spent the past few days cutting strips, and then some subcuts. I look forward to the sewing.
Susan |
I finally finished cutting out all the pieces to the top. I think I pulled a back muscle from all my moving around. Lol....I'm getting old.
Susan |
I actually have my top pieced and the sandwich done. Waiting on a walking foot for my Janome HD9 to start quilting.
I had a productive Sunday, which doesn't happen to often on the farm :) Jennifer Goatmom |
Started my wall hanging this afternoon and have a little cut and sewn…..I’m not sure yet where I’m going with this but am hoping it turns out the way I can see it in my mind. 😂

Last swap, skaduzy sent me some great fabric as a little extra. I wanted to share what I did with it. For Christmas, I made bears for all my children. I changed a simple Simplicity bear pattern by adding a hidden lined zippered pocket in the back, then filled the bear with goodies: Gift cards, candies, chap stick etc. Just wanted to share what I did with a added fabrics.
|
Heather, you are amazing! Those are adorable and I am so happy you used the fabric 😊 and especially that you used it for your kids.
|
Great idea heather! I have that pattern, but, I never thought to put a zip in the back.
|
I actually lined the pocket, so goodies will not get into the bear itself. It took some figuring on the size, but once I figured out the measurements it went right in.
|
That is so beautiful Heather
|
That little bear is so cute, and what a great idea making a place for all the goodies.
Susan |
Heather, I just love your bear. I did the same bear last year for some babies down in Florida last Christmas but I did not think to add a pocket like you did. Great job.
I just wanted to let everyone know, I completed my wall hanging. I did a paper pieced 'Tree of Life" block and framed it. I did try a new type of binding where you face the quilt instead of wrap regular binding. Took me a while to wrap my brain around how it was done. But I think it looks great. I did free motion quilt it. Having my 2md cataract surgery next Wednesday (first was last Monday and boy do I love the colors I am seeing now), so won't be on the board much this month. But I will be wishing everyone great success with their wall hangings. |
I keep hoping this is the month I can jump back into the swap. Between my job and the two farms I own and manage it keeps me hopping! But I think I will have a small wall hanging completed for this month - YAY!
I love the bear with the zipper. What a clever idea! |
Rumbols I will be planning to have cataract surgery soon. I can't stand not seeing things clearly, and everything seems dark.
I hope your next one goes well. Susan |
Thank you JuneBillie. I just have one more day to wait. But I can tell you it is great seeing colors again. I found my neighbors cars were blue instead of black, like I thought. LOL What a rush.
You will enjoy it as it is the easiest surgery I have ever had. It just takes a while to recover from but there is no pain which is the best part. Good luck with yours, |
hello
how do you join this swap? Is it still going on? Thank you
|
I am just finishing up the sleeve on my WH, so I am in!
